One of the 3 trialists to play Farsley will be 22yr old Midfielder Ibrahim Maaroufi who came through Inter Milans acadamy. This was in the YEP(Yorkshire evening post) on thursday.

At 22 he has played for (7) seven european clubs that either means he has a lot of experience or there is some baggage can´t call this one. what do you think ed. {Ed001's Note - from what I have been told it is the latter.}

According to Wiki (I know it's not reliable) he has only played 4 professional games... How can he be any better than what we have already got? Never know, could be a "hidden gem" as KB's would say.

Think your onto something here I know my source is wiki but still "he was released by Eupen, after making just 1 first team appearance and joint Leeds United on trial" this is on his wiki page

Just read wiki pages too and i know there not the best source but the facts if true dont look good for him only 1 appearance for last side in belgium doesnt say much about him but in grayson we trust so will have to wait and see

I was in howards resturaunt with the missus aprox 3 months ago and bates, harvey and reps from italy, also an italian ex rangers player+ approx 5 germans all sat having a dinner, bates in his usual arrogant self got pi**ed and spouted the usual ..all our players are pill)cks garbage, but he did also tell us that he is forging links with a milan club academy...thought it was b0ll0x at the time..prehaps not

Maaroufi has played less than 10 times in 5 years, sounds like another felipe da costa.

No Bodor Deal - Trialist Bodor Will Not Get Offered A Contract At Elland Road.

Good, he looked like Ian Harte, nice on the ball, slow, cant defend. Not what we need after last season.

I saw Boltizar Bodor at Newcastle, he won the ball, looked up and hit it as high as he could into the sky. On another occasion i hink it was him who put the ball on the roof. Talk about reaching for the sky,aiming for the stars more like. Didnt look good enough for Leeds. O'Dea will fill the left back void, Arce could be one to come in and add competition there and in midfield. Lichaj will come in and probably get in ahead of connolly.

Adam Le Fondre from rotherham beleived to have agreed personal terms with leeds and should be revealed to the leeds fans in next 48 hours.... MOT

The club have not agreed any deals with any player from Rotherham FC

ED. Do you think we will sign a striker, Adam Le Fondre or anyone, don't fancy having to depend on Paynter or Grella for goals. {Ed001's Note - I expect a loan striker will be brought in from the Prem.}

lets be honest, i dont think anyone really knows anything that goes on behind the scenes at elland road, pretty sure nobody saw the o'dea signing happening and if we do sing anyone else i wouldnt mind betting that is isnt one of the names being thrown around on a daily basis on here, the season starts tomorrow and i cant wait, lets back the boys weve got a great team and we're the best fans in the world, c'mon leeds MOT

I am sick of seeing so called Leeds fans saying we have 'missed' this person or that, at the end of last season it was apparent we needed to weed out one or two players which has happened, and needed to strengthen in certain areas, which again has basically happened. We also have many players coming back in after loans, or rising from through the ranks. We are LEEDS, shout it out loud

You've got to hand it to SG, Bates offers him no help to sign quality players yet he still manages to bring talented players in that no one else seems to be looking at. Carry on doing a great job Grayson and lets hope no team with money (Leicester for instance) realise what a gem of a manager we've got and start wafting their cash in his direction. MOT

Anyone know who the 3 trialists that are being looked at in a game against farsley 2 mora?Source is from leeds os. Hopefully theres a CM and a ST then were ready to mount a serious challenge for promotion MOT

Bates said there was a young french lad on trial the other day but said he hasnt had a pre-season, but said he could have real potential when hes fit dunno who he is like

I think there is either 2 midfielders and 1 striker or 1 midfielder and 2 strikers, look at the lineup it shows that they arnt in the back four

Hes either planning on signing mendy today, and be planning on using him in the southampton game, because hes not in the farsley squad and he would be if we were still having a look at him, and he wouldnt be named as a trialist because we all know him, in my opinion i really hope its james mcfadden, would be a cracking signing

I think the Carew post was just wishful thinking after the BBC posted an article today on players available on frees that listed Carew and Parnaby (who was also mentioned in the same post)

Dont think Carew would need a trial,he would be class in the championship,it's the wages that would be a problem.

Carew would not need a trial We can't afford his wages hence why whoever linked him with Leeds needs committing

Carew talking to Big Sam at Wham. McFadden also would probably not want a trial, will most likely be a couple of young up and comers, or someone in the same vain as Becchio, Somma & Grella from abroad trying his luck...

Mikael Forsell situation has developed, and he is set to feature in the Leeds XI @ Farsley on Saturday.

Would like Forsell IF he is still able to play a season and be consistent. Didn't he have chronic knee problems etc and miss a lot of games. Plus the wages issue.

If his injuries are behind him he'd be a decent replacement while Becchio is out.

3 trialists for game against Farsley theyway it looked on the OS it could be Mendy and 2 forwards although im not completely sure its just the way the team was laid out when the squad was being named.

Bodor released, not sure about mendy, he could be one of the trialists involved in the farsley game comming up.

Bodor has been informed he will not be offered a contract, the club wish him the best for the future.

Does anyone know what hotel Leeds will be staying in down in Southampton?

Nowhere in Southampton worth staying in, except for The Park....

... there's quite a few benches going spare there...lol

Why would Leeds want to stay in Southampton when there is an airport at Eastleigh around 10 mins drive from ST Mary's??

Not staying at any hotel, the cost is too much, the players are travelling down early Saturday morning and returning Saturday night.

Clayton, Nunez, Lees, White were all at the club last year. Its just that Simon didn't feel they were worth keeping in the first team squad. Parker missed much of the season with injury but he was very clearly only seen as a back up player. Sam too was shown to be 3rd or 4th most favoured winger.

From your list Kisnorbo (if he can steer clear of injury) is indeed like a new signing; and Lonergan and O'dea ARE new signings. You could have added Brown & Rachubka too.

But, if you wanted to keep it balanced you'd then have to say that on the 'outs' list go Johnson, Kasper and Kilkenny, who definitely were seen as first teamers as they had well over 120 first team appearances last year between them. Then you'd add Higgs and Naylor as other departures along with the loanees McCartney, Livermore, Watt, Lichaj, Gonzalez, Bannan.

Then, if Kisnorbo is like a new signing as he is returning from long term injury then Somma and Becchio has to be counted as like losing two players.

On that basis you'd have:

Why do people see players going out on loan as not being good enough. The likes of Nunez/white/clayton/lees went out on loan and performed very well for their respective clubs and will return better and stronger players for the experience and it will be like having new players at the club. Give them a chance instead of ranting on about buying new

Players go on loan for three reasons:

1. To gain experience,
2. Because the manager doesn't see any likelihood of their being able to force their way into the parent club's side
3. So that some of their wages can be paid by the club that 'borrows' them.

So Nunez spent most of his time in our reserves then went for a few games in a side heading for relegation. Clayton also spent a bit of time in the reserves or on the bench before spending the rest of the year at a L1 club, Aidy was the same and Lees spent the whole season in L2.

Yes we saved a few bob, yes they got some first team experience but only because the manager didn't think they were good enough to play any part last season.

They probably have become better players but they already were part of the squad but Larry didn't think they were good enough to keep around then.

If you can't grasp basics like that its best not to express an opinion.

I agree with the original post, these are all NEW faces coming into the 'playing' squad, and there is a wealth of talent in there. Most of you have missed the point here?

We didn't need to sign the countless players mentioned on here, we need to use what we have, and Grayson has been clever in loaning out players who need some experience, Nunez could well be the difference between us and the likes of Leicester and Ipswich who are trying to buy success.

We have players who want to be a part of Leeds, and know what we are about, rather than take the 'quick buck' and move on when it doesnt happen.

Lets wait and see, and get behind the team, rather than moan and criticise before a ball is even kicked??

How many of you were expecting the finish we had last season at this time last year??

I predicted exactly the finish we had at this time last season.

I predicted we'd take the momentum of promotion and be in the play offs by the mid-way point before the weakness of the squad (signing players like Connolly & Bruce who couldn't get a game at mid table clubs just because nobody else wanted them so they were cheap and desperate; and Paynter the one (L1) season wonder) would mean we'd slide down to mid table).

This season I'd expect us to start ok but finish easily in the bottom half of the table. The bookies and pundits don't mention us as contenders for the play offs for good reason.
