Clayton is believed to have agreed a three-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium and is expected to seal his move across Yorkshire in the next 24 hours. Gj

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Gutted about Clayton leaving, I think he has real potential! He may of had a dip in form the 2nd of half of the season but wouldn't any CM when there partner is off loaded to Norwich

Agree0 Disagree0

Can see this one he is a good player but not the best we can get better than him easy

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty annoying that he goes to play for uddersfield, I feel its a backwards step but hey the money must of been right. Other players we have lost have went to top flight teams, bit of a bitter taste. Wish him luck none the less, just not against the whites.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope the club got decent money for a good young player. Interesting that he didn't seem interested in the outcome of the possible takeover. The whole financial and ambitious landscape of Leeds Utd could change with this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah im gutted aswell to be fair, like you say he has real potential to go onto be a decent player and he was playing in a very average Leeds side last season and he looked like one of the few who were working their socks off!, warnocks been abit harsh on the lad i feel. Huddersfield is a massive backwards step for the lad aswell

MOT Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

So is simon g gonna take paynter seeing as how much he loved him
ts

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't get how Huddersfield are a backward step . if we don't get taken over for some reason they will have a stronger squad than us they have plenty of money to throw at there squad . they are ambitious . we will only do better than them if we get plenty of money

Agree0 Disagree0

So little old hudders are buying Leeds best players..Mcormack next and we dont even have to sell our best player..one by the way you will never be able to afford...keep buying the has beens....def 6 points off you next year..easy easy...

Agree0 Disagree0

By the sounds of it we cant afford him either! expect snodders to leave too

im a liverpool fan and also follow leeds as my dad is a supporter and moved to liverpool years ago, raheem sterling very well could be a leeds player on loan next season also a small chance of spearing not the best of players but he works hard and is more a championship player than prem, marching on together!

Believable11 Unbelievable6

A liverpool supporter saying marching on together, this must be a first.
This is a major coup. Drop Liverpool mate, support a real team. You know it makes sense.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

This makes 2 of us, I am a liverpool fan and my twin supports leeds. I think both our teams are 2 of the most passinate fans in the country so it makes sense to admire both teams. I go to more leeds games than i have ever been to leeds i just hope you can make it back to the prem where you belong!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love sterling at leeds, not on loan but a signing

From a close source and from the help from yep and yp Lee Peltier will be confirmed as signing number four tomorrow.

I hope he is our next signing. We NEED, and have needed, a quality right back for ages!

Now, though, I would like to see some of our 'deadwood' get shifted.

hasnt Al Khalifa ruled himself??

i heard Jacob Walcott will be joining for pre-season training, to see if he can impress Warnock

If you are genuine why don't you tell us where you heard this?

Because it;s not actually true, maybe...?

Heard from a source that several league one clubs have started a "bidding war" for Ramon Nunez.

Personelly, I think he'd do great in a lower league. How much would you guys be happy with for him?

-WhiteForLife

Believable15 Unbelievable4

Id prefer to keep him, could still do a job, particularly as a late impact plater. JH

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything we get for Ramon will be a bonus. As for Nunez I hope he goes to a club that appreciate him and gives him a proper FIRST TEAM shot. he's likeable and a great professional.
In a world of greedy, mercenary footballers he has been fully committed to Leeds Utd & if anything the club have let HIM down not giving him a real shot.
I genuinely wish him all the luck in the world and will post thanks to him when he goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't seen a single reference to Nunez whatsoever.

Either name your source or stop lying, simples??

Why would Neil get rid of a player he's never seen play??

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take a mexican burger, with no salad at wetherspoons , 12 onion rings and a pint of pepsi - Anything to get his wage off the bill

Agree0 Disagree0

About £25 should do and if they take paynter we will give them another £25

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock threw him on before the end of last season. He played ok but too late to influence much.
I for one hope he stays and gets a decent run of games. Jury still out as we haven't seen nearly enough of him to judge properly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more mate!

He can't really shoot but when he's on the ball he's quit tricky! Could definitely be an impact player.

-WhiteForLife

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see him signed if I supported a league one club. Really feel that we just didn't manage to realise his full potential. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's brilliant but not good for the championship. He should play for us in the prem cos you need tricky players like him in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one would love to see him go to Doncaster, where I'm sure he will get a good run in the team n show everyone why he was signed on at Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck to Nunez, a good guy that deserves a break, he would be a great asset for a lower league team

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he is transfer listed but I would like to see him play some of the pre-season games and let Neil decide then.
RabX

Agree0 Disagree0

Id like to see him played in a more appropriate position...he is really good on the ball with a real skill that i see is a quality above sometimes
Ts

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent player never really had the chance to play in his position . he scoffed way too many pies when he was told to beef up a bit but still worth a few hundred k maybe to a lower league team

Reliable Info,I'm a Leeds fan and have heard this from a few people so wouldn't make up a load of b****cks to put on here.

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Unfortunately many make such claims and are short on the truth...I really hope you are the odd one out that gets this type of rumour right, there cannot be many more billions left on the planet who have not been connected to the takeover...then good time ahead M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

Fingers crossed, if it is we don't go doing what Leicester did and buy all and sundry, get totally confused who's who. Too many cooks and all that.
Great to see Kissy and Rogers back in the frame.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the guy that everyone was having a go at over Human Rights issues not so long back?

Agree0 Disagree0

I dnt think we would go too gung ho like leicester did.if kenny signs we have the basis of a strong team anyway with the 3 new signings, lees, becchio, somma, rogers and kisnorbo when fit. we need a couple of midfielders (maybe only one if clayts and brown stay) a striker (jermaine-man for me) and a right back then i think snoddy would stay he is the key and who you should be building our team around. and yes this is the poor human rights record guy. LTKK

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard from a mate who once drove past Elland Road on a Sunday that Victoria Beckham was buying Leeds, to give Dave a way back into the Prem. And she's going to design the new kit. I hope everyone likes shoulder pads. But don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger, but it's a fact!

our next owner will be;

A consortium of rich businessmen, some based in the middle east, fronted by one of Mr Bates' Monaco chums. We will be run in a similar way to before, with extra investment in the playing staff depending on the board's expectations for the season.

Stop dreaming of billionaires. You're going to be disappointed, and start "protesting" again when your expectations aren't fulfilled.

Believable8 Unbelievable19

"Stop dreaming of billionaires".... oh sorry i forgot optimism isnt allowed at lufc. only pure doom and gloom pessimism

Agree0 Disagree0

And stop stirring the s-it,you havnt a clue as to new owners, and why talk about protesting before we know whats what, take your bolshy rumours and stick em.

Agree0 Disagree0

Go by the new away put it on.......then jog on.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're either one of the 'bates in' crew or one of the 'let's complain but not actually do anything, then critisize everyone' group, which is even worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on then enlighten us how you know all this to distinguish you from all the crap sprouting out of some people's mouths!

Agree0 Disagree0

Our next owner?
Aren't you on the wrong site. Nottingham begins with N.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop being negative , no one knows much bout wats going on. How you have come up with this crap is beyond me. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

How do u know its not businessmen, and have some positived words f**k sake, we've never been in dis position in our life, its hard dat were waiting on some news and people like yurself put a downer on thing!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Source?.......... lonely brain cell in Nottingham?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody knows nothing ,yur just a negative person dat tries to bring others down, try to be positive for once ,cause we havent had this luck ever so lightin up,,, i hate waiting its seems like its taking an age but fingers cross it comes true, and go back were we belong PREM,,mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with all the above posts the original post is obviously a town tw*t who will be back in div 3 after this season 6 points in the bag already

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think a single protestor was angry that their expectations were unfulfilled.
Just fed up of the constant revolving-door transfer policy which sees our better players stripped from the club for cash which was never reinvested in the playing staff.
Leeds fans haven't dared raise their expectations for a decade, now so, how about you back off and let us dream a bit, huh?
Could be one of the world's richest or it could be a consortium of the well heeled... either way, a change of ownership is absolutely necessary to keep the soul of Leeds United alive.
If just a couple of million is spent bringing in players of any realistic quality, then maybe we might start believing in our great club, once again.
That is why Leeds fans protested. Not because we expect success, but because our belief it could happen was stolen from us by a man who never really cared.
Whatever happens this season, a change of direction gives us hope.
Beat the salute, lads.
We're marching.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, i am a Leeds fan. and i think this blind optimism and bulls----ing about "Random Billionaire buying Leeds" is making our fans a laughing stock. face it, Billionaire buyouts only happen at places with the possibility of Domestic and European success, not at a mid table second division team. sort all your heads out and get real.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wat about qpr ,,they were in championship they got bought over bye billionaires......??

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah wat about qpr ??????????????????????????????????

Agree0 Disagree0

You refer to yourself as a Leeds fan suggesting a subjective view. Then you get all objective, and tell us we are middle of the road no prospect having no hopers, this. Pearly suggests that u view us from a disdainful standpoint... Ala rival fan.sorry I had to expose you in front of everyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think thats its likely for someone with a bit of cash to be coming in to buy our club. It's a great business opportunity with a fanbase like ours, we are a massive club, this is what we've been waiting for. I dont think it's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, probably a bit unrealistic but there's every chance it's someone with some big cash. Let's just be thankful that either way it looks like their is change in the ownership which is positive. Lets focus on moving forward, £1 billion or £100k. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

OK lets get real if we were being bought out by a Billionaire we would not be letting our best midfielder go to our Yorkshire and Championship rivals for a rumoured 500k , we would not be looking at Vardey as a replacement for Ross and apart from Pearce who is a great capture our other signings match KB criteria. Leeds fan for 45 years and would love the dream to be real but if it were we wouldn't sell Clayton and sign Green

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster saying "face it, Billionaire buyouts only happen at places with the possibility of Domestic and European success" if you can cast your memory back to the late 1990's and early 2000's you will remember that LUFC were challenging for Domestic and European honours. It was only due to o financial implosion that we fell from the position to challenge for such honours. We are generally regarded as one of the top ten clubs in England with regard to fan support, facilities and the like. We are one of the few clubs who enjoy a global fan base, and are located in a one-club city, which is one of the biggest in the country.

Combine all those things together, along with the right Manager and decent financial support and there is absolutely no reason why we wouldn't be able to challenge the top clubs again in the coming years.

Peacock Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with jim but i would say we are easy in the top six i class a club on the amount a club take away chelsea dont take away what we and without the mad russians money thay would only be a yoyo club and lets face it most of the the prem is full small clubs such as wigan norwich swansea shamton even stoke arnt that big and without romans money chelsea so has for leeds if thay could get a backer i think leeds could be among the top six easy and no way lose as mutch money as chelsea do every year and man city we are biger than them with the backing gazza

Agree0 Disagree0

Greater travelling support doesn't say anything about the size of your club, just the dedication of your supporters.
On the other hand, our time in League One skewed the season's average attendance figures for almost every club, with a few clubs selling more than double the seats when the Mighty Whites marched in.
We did that...
...and we're not even famous anymore!

Takeover to be announced on the 12th of July by a middle eastern business group. Robert Snodgrass, Michael Brown & Aidan White will sign new contracts (White, brown offered more than previous offer) and Paddy Kenny will sign. In next two weeks, Lee Peltier, Jermaine Beckford, Luke Chambers & Luke Varney will sign. Andy Lonergan will leave as well as Ramon Nunez, Adam Clayton & Billy Paynter. This is what I heard so it's just a rumour! DON'T HAVE A GO! {Ed013's Note - You shouldn't have to say DON'T HAVE A GO. Fellow fans shouldn't be arguing like this, however, due to trouble makers and liars I can understand the tension}

Believable11 Unbelievable8

The latest I've heard is any takeover wont be completed until 12th July as any takeover in the first 5 years of exiting administration(which we did on 11th July 2007) would mean the new owners would be liable to repayments to creditors. That's only what I heard I'm not sure if that's the case.

Source is Facebook page called: Leeds United. Your View!

Will people please understand that there is no such clause relating to 5 years in the final approved CVA. The only outstanding payment to creditors is the £4.75m due if Leeds are promoted to the Premier League by 2017.

New Leeds away strip unvieled 4.30 going to be the last macron strip made for Leeds. Away kit brought forward one season. Was originally going to keep black/neon strip until end of next season, but new owners want better branding and quality shirts when we reach premiership so to meet contract obligiations Leeds and macron have rush released this shirt and contract will terminate at the end of 2012 2013 season, instead of season after.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

We are keeping the black anyway? the blue shirt is going, black becomes 3rd kit with new away kit the priority.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Macron deal is a six year deal that runs until the end of the 2015/16 season...

Not true we have just signed a new 6yr deal with MACRON. Trevo

According to the OS this kit is in use for 2012/14. That's two years, and one year longer than you claim it will be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wishful thinking! Actually, the last couple of Macron home shirts have been good, and the blue away has been one of our better change kits. Chapel A

Our next owner will be;

H.M King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain

No. 11

Age: 62

Net worth: £ 3.5 Billion - Plus
His Majesty King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa, KCMG (Arabic: حمد بن عيسى آل خليفة‎)(born 28 December 1950, Riffa, Bahrain) is the current King of Bahrain (since 2002), having previously been its Emir (from 1999). He is the son of Isa ibn Salman Al Khalifah, the previous emir. For his secondary schooling, he attended the The Leys School, Cambridge, England. He later attended military colleges in the United Kingdom (including Sandhurst) and the United States (including Fort Leavenworth). Al Khalifah has great interest in preserving heritage and continues to indulge in a number of sports activities and hobbies including falconry, golf, fishing, tennis and football. His keen interest in Arabian horses caused him to establish the Amiri stables in June of 1977 which was registered in the World Arabian Horses Organization in September 1978. His wealth is based upon Oil reserves, global properties, global investments and international family interests.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Very interesting but if he was born in Dec 1950 he would be 61 !

Believable5 Unbelievable13

05 Jul 2012 12:11:23
Don't know how true this is, however i have heard the takeover will go ahead on the 12 th july. The reason behind the hold up is that we came out of administration on the 11th july 2007, apparently the creditors would be owed money if the club was sold within a 5 year period.
THIS IS JUST A RUMOUR, im not claiming to be in the know before any one says

MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Surely this would have been made effective when Bates 'bought' us last summer?

Only 1 problem with this, the end of the 5 year period would actually be July 10th so any takeover could take place on July 11th if this is true so why wait until the 12th?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2012 12:01:22
only my thoughts - no ground breaking rumours .... if we have funds soon then I'd expect a serious bid for Irelands Robbie Keane and simon Cox as our new partnership - Somma and Bechio as cover / rotation - one year deal for Keane on high wages - goals per game bonus etc
The scandinavian striker we were linked with also worth an offer (hankin)

Believable6 Unbelievable16

Piffle, Robbie Keene is a has been.
If the club get the cash they should get the ambition also. Robbie Keene is not ambitious.
Obviously an Irishman here, maybe the same as the one who wants that Steve wotsisface who got sent off in the Euros.
Not a problem you wanting them but please don't start telling us your sources say LUFC are looking at them.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

And why on earth would Becchio be cover, he has been probably the hardest working player in a Leeds shirt over the last 4 years, I'd kill for 11 Becchio's on the pitch this season, Robbie Keane is definitely not worthy of taking his place for sure, I think his time has come and gone!

Agree0 Disagree0

We would never be able to get robbie keane back he enjoys MLS even though it isnt helping his career to many prem clubs would want him first!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2012 11:18:12
Leeds exited administration on july 11th 2007.
With a deal that if Bates sold Leeds he would have to give x amount of money to administrators.
Therefore he will wait to announce the deal until July 12th (next Thursday).
Also expect that alot of signings are made on that day.
As well as Snoddy signing new contract

Believable9 Unbelievable9

I also heard that if we got promotion to the PL within 5 years that HMCR would be in to us for 14M

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop posting this, the club has already been sold because Ken Bates didn't own the club an unknown person did.

So if this has any truth what so ever the unknown person would of already had to have paid x amount back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken Bates bought the club last year off himself (sorry i mean an unknown person from the camen islands) already, so your point is invalid, all this talk of us oweing to creditors is pish pash. It's worth over 120 Million now to get promoted, so any talk of us not wanting promotion because of having to pay creditors x amount is also total tripe, Bates simply has no money to put into the squad to gain promotion, we tried, but failed, so he is selling, nothing complicated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your bang on mate ignore the idiots who think they are intelligent. YOU ARE CORRECT - END OF.

I'm a Leeds fan but I'm a little dubious of how much dough the potential investors have. Why do people think there on the same level as man city, has somebody at the club said this or is it just rumours.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

It's all rumours, anyone who claims to know don't know nothing, and the people in the know at the club keep shut

Agree0 Disagree0

Just think about it for a minute? if it was a man city style takeover would'nt we be linked with slighty better players than varney, norris and chambers? {Ed045's Note - we need to remember we are still only a championship team.

Just to Clarify I'm not obsessed with has beens IE would hate the idea of Kewell / Beckford returning however Hulse is a good target player as we tend to go a little 'long ball' sometimes

The takeover has gone through but they won't announce it until the date when Bates doesn't have to pay owt to the creditors. That's why players are being signed already.

Believable8 Unbelievable12

This is not true. The rumours about these are all based on the original CVA and not the final version which LUFC exited on. All the initial payments to creditors are now complete as reported by the accountants around 6-8 weeks ago.
The only sum legally outstanding to creditors is £4.75m payable unto 2017 in the event that LUFC are promoted to the Premiership.
If you need proof then check the last set of accounts.

Agree0 Disagree0

If deal already done and any creditor payments were due then they would have to pay them. doesn't matter wether it is announced or not, legal contracts ect. fool

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but this is all just a logic your minds put together, getting it down on the net just helps convince you it's true.
This is obviously the bright side of your thoughts please don't publish the dark side or we'll all be just fair to morbid.

Agree....£4.75M will be paid when we are promoted in 2013.

On potential incoming deals, Warnock, who so far has signed Jason Pearce, Adam Drury and Paul Green, said: “We’ve just got our targets and we’re hoping that in the next couple of weeks, we can start bringing in more so we can have a full complement as soon as we can during pre-season.

“It’s a matter of trying to find out who is available and what the situation is. You look at their cost, their wages and see where we are at. All I say to the supporters is just wait and see how we are early on.

“I’d ask the fans to trust in me, I’m working for them as well as the club.”

As well as Peltier, Chambers and Paddy Kenny, Warnock is also in the hunt for several other players, including Portsmouth pair Luke Varney and David Norris.

Another player on United’s radar is understood to be West Brom forward

Leeds to sign tommy smith of qpr. Personally I don't rate him too much and think we should be lookin for younger what do u think

Believable3 Unbelievable15

Tommy Smith's always had something about him. Never reached the potential he showed in his early years but would still be a vast improvement over Paynter as a squad option.
Welcome addition, if it happens.

Definately agree we should look at bringing in young hungry players, i think connor wickham would be a good signing

Adam Clayton is set to join the Terriers (Huddersfield Town) for a fee between £500k-£700k. Clayton wants to go as he thinks Simon Grayson will play him more than under Warnock.

Believable14 Unbelievable11

I Thought it was because
his agents were asking silly money on wages.....

Agree0 Disagree0

No he said on twitter it wasnt him who wanted £15K a week...looking more likely it was McCormack

Defo wasnt Aidy White....he wouldnt dream of asking for that with what he gives each game!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope for his sake he only signs a one year contract. Otherwise it will be back down the slippery slope with that shower.

Slingsby White

Agree0 Disagree0

It wasn't a case of Clayton wanting to go, rather Warnock placing him on the transfer list. Hopefully Clayton will decide to stay put, see out his contract and fight for his place. He had a decent first season last year and if he can improve on that will be a good option to have in midfield

Graysons switched his attention else where now
