neil warnock is after another of his sheff united old boys in nick montgomery. montgomery struggles to get in the sheff united side under danny wilson and is apparently on a big wage so there could be some truth in it

Believable6 Unbelievable13

If he doesn't get in Sheffield team, why would we want him in ours, get real .

Agree0 Disagree0

If he can't get in to Sheffield United's first team, why the hell should we get him? Warnock is planning a SERIOUS PROMOTION PUSH, not RELEGATION...

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads are you forgetting, whats one managers cup of tea is not anothers. you only have to look at rhodes who was surplus to requirements but to turned out to be the hot striker everyone wants to take a punt on. you carn't be that short in tooth to not have seen this with other players over the years. keep the faith and montgomery is a good player in the right set up. moy4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Nick - I think we have heard enough from you over the last 6 months tbh. We don't want Blunts cast offs so go and see if Halifax are interested!

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously, I think we hear more about montgomery than smithy coming to Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Nick Montgomery is a fantastic player, he is a workhorse, and moved to Millwall on loan and really sorted out their midfield.

Unfortunately for the lad he got injured till the rest of the season, but I for one would love to see him in a Leeds United shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Took longer than i thought it would, but here come the montgomery rumours

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll all say he's quality, this that and other, but I reckon he'd just be good for one game or so, then you'd all be calling for him to be sold haha. Robinson is the same, one game player

leeds are after james coppinger of donny rovers. copinger was expected to join ipswich but apparently paul jewel wasnt impressed when he turned them down last year.

If Snoddy doesnt want to sign a contract then i think we should swap him and Clayton for Mills and Beckford or Mills and Wellens.

Other signings i think should happen are as follows;

Any of Halford, Lawrence, Varney or Norris.
George Elokobi or Clint Hill at LB.
I still think Sammy Clingan would be a good squad player but only if he comes on a free.

Let me know what you think :) MOT!

Believable8 Unbelievable16

No incentive for Snoddy to goto another c'ship club. If he goes then it will be a prem club. Thats why he is delaying over a new deal at ER. My money will be on him joining BJ and JH ay Naaarrch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to keep snodgrass for this season and then think he would stay if we went up, but we shouldn't be held to ransom by any player and def cash in early if it's a problem so we have a chance to use the money to our benefit. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Halford for rb yes elokobi yes and clingan we wont get lawrence and right now we dont need to spend as much up front as we do elsewhere

Agree0 Disagree0

If snoddy goes anywhere it will be the prem, if he doesn't want to sign it will be because he wants to play at the highest level, otherwise he would have no qualms signing for us,
a decent replacement for him would be buszacky from qpr

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think you can have your skipper on the transfer list or running his contract down, Pearce is a leader and may be given the nod. In my book a leader should be from the defence anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate you play too many footy manager games. when ws last time you seen a double swap? and also this beckford rubbish do you no how much is wages are? 30k a week and check it out. no chance beckford cuming to leeds!!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Do do do Georgie Elokobi, do do do come on and score a goal! do do do..... LEGEND! Would love that to be true

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance Snod would leave to go to another championship club,i can understand he wants pl football, but can't see him taking i sideways step

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as i'd love to see the likes of Whittingham, Ward, Taarabt, Beckford and others at ER next season, it's extremely doubtful that any will happen due to wages and the fact that most of the linked players are easily mid PL class. Much more likely targets would be the likes of Danny Guthrie, Dan Gosling and Liam Lawerence. All of whom are quality players, who would give Leeds that creative spark we missed this season after the departure of Howson and Gradel, yet have affordable wages (maybe not Guthrie). I'd love to see this team next season (and it's likely imo):

Lonergon
Lichaj---Mills/Lees---Pearce---White
Snodgrass---Clayton/Brown---Lawerence---?
McCormack---Becchio

Bromby, Pugh, Volland (Loan), Somma, Loan Winger

Quality, assured CBs who could teach Lees his trade. Quick full backs who can help in attack and defence, creative CMs, tricky and hopefully pacey wingers and two very good goalscorers up top.

I'm almost certain that this team would be in the top 4, therefore encouraging the likes of McCormack and Snodgrass to stay until summer at least. I personally think that Clayton won't be sold, nor White.

Any opinions?

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Theres no attackive pace in that side so how would that improve us as an attacking side?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bromby wont be back till xmas at the earliest so we need cb cover

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not a case of White being sold as he is out of contract...he'll probably go to a prem side and sit on the bench

ricardo fuller and rory delap from stoke.delap getting on but would be good in championship, and those throws would cause havoc in this league.

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Delap just signed contract extension so wont be coming

Agree0 Disagree0

Delap signed a one year contract Tuesday of last week. Wot a c r o c of **** mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Would warnock put up with fuller's attitude, can be lazy and thinks he is better than he is

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone. Before I say this i'd like to say I love warnock and everything he is doing for Leeds but this is what happened to Leicester last year and they ended up bitterly disappointed so please don't end up thinking we're gonna be champions because we might get promoted but don't think we'll win the league

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Not really the same thing, were not planning on bringing like 10-15, we cant afford to do that.
Warnock will bring 5-6 quality but not neccesserily expensive players.

Agree0 Disagree0

What happened to leicester last year is spending £12 million. we will probably raise about £2 million in transfer fees and spend a maximum of £3 million, don't really understand your link. And who knows where we will finish next year? could be champions, could be 12th, all i'm asking for is ambition to be shown and then we'll be in and around the top 6.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree but not sure we should be saying it out loud! I think everyone needs to get on board.

Agree0 Disagree0

So u love warnock and all he's doing?
What's he done! Lose loads of games, make us long ball merchants.
All he's done is talk frankly about players who are not his choice(that's easy but he can't do that next season!)and get rid of average players and sign one decent one.
I will love him when we have 7 decent players, playing well and attractive football winning the league. Believe me as a realist we have a long way to go but it can be done

Agree0 Disagree0

Win the League ? I go to matches to watch a team grunt and fight for a win, week in week out. Im happy if I see them shedding blood sweat and tears for us 'win or lose'. I will be happy and support them whatever position they achieve. Just show effort is all I ask..... It will all come in time

Agree0 Disagree0

We will have to bring in around 10 players altogether or our squad for this season will be too small as we only have
............

lonergan / cairns

lees/pearce/white/kisnorbo/bromby (taylor off on loan)

snodgrass/brown/rogers/pugh( thompson off on loan)

mccormack/becchio/somma

14 players after listed players are sold and the young players are loaned out. ,warnock wants a squad of 23 - 25

Lonergen
Halford Mills Pearce White
Snodgrass Norris Whittingham Diouf
McCormack Becchio
Subs: Lees, Brown, Rogers, Somma, Varney.
If Cardiff get knocked out of the playoffs I honestly do think Warnock will put a cheeky bid in for Whittingham! With this team we will be champions next season!

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Loners will not be number 1 keeper next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Suspect you are on the right lines here and
Whitingham or Ambrose in midfield would be great
But I suspect a more realistic possible line up (presuming White goes) would be
Lonergen
Clyne/Halford Pearce Mills Edwards
Green/Clingan Norris
Snodgrass Diouf
Mcormack Becchio
Subs: Lees Brown Rogers Varney Somma

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather put a cheeky bid in for McPhail if he still wants to play

Agree0 Disagree0

A good side, don't want Diouf in there though. Hargreaves maybe? And what about this lad from Hearts and the German fella?

Agree0 Disagree0

Whittingham is worth about the same as snoddy to be fair, doubt we're gonna put a £3 million bid in for him, warnock will probably want to get 3/4 players in for that money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a new striker also, dj campbell or someone like that with pace.

what about leeds having a go for dan gosling/ michael johnson? both are decent midfielders who would be very good for leeds at this level and warnock did say he was building leeds "long term as opposed to thiryysomethings" johnson would be my personal pick but gosling would be worth a look too

Believable15 Unbelievable5

Johnson has been at leicester and hardley got a look in he lacks fitness is also injury prone and is a shadow of his former self keep hold of clayton if you want long term progression

from a LCFC Fan CB

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnson is injury prone, barely plays, good player and lower prem level if he could avoid injuries but he's like ben parker, plays 1 game and gets injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnson played 7 games for Leicester all season injured all the time why wud he be a gud singing??? dont get that one.

David norris and luke varney are wornocks next signings. Watch this space. Lacy leeds

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Just cos it says that in the yep, i bet it dont happen

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not. whats the point of signing half of a team that got relegated last year. thought we wanted to win this league!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard this too. Wouldnt mind these players but have to admit i feel for portsmouth this must be so hard to watch you best players go . We all know what thats like at Elland Rd , truely hope they get out of this mess MOT

Leeds in talks with Giles Barnes.

Believable16 Unbelievable19

Very quick player but dont know were this rumour has come from and for diouf is better player. mot4life

Was a promising youngster but career went down the pan. doubt he'd add anything more than sam/nunez would've

leeds down line to soon reveal signings of halford and green. probs in 1 to 2 weeks hopefully. you heard it here first lads, mot4life

Believable14 Unbelievable7

HALFORD: probably works well with PEARCE and maybe we may get him as NW balances out the budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta be honest mate that is nowhere near the first time ive heard this speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

Halford is okay, nothing special though, decent right back (better than we've got!) with a long throw, guess we could get him cheap from pompey?

Rangers defender Sasa Papac has confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

He told Rangers' official website: "After six seasons of playing for Rangers, the time has come for me to leave my place for someone younger who will be able to contribute to new successes at the club with passion and zest.'' Should we go for him?

Belivable - Yes
Unbelievable - No

Believable19 Unbelievable17

Not after that statement....Obviously feels too old to compete in a sub standard division.....
