Believable21 Unbelievable7

{Ed013's Note - Its something that has needed doing for a long time, its a positive that will make Leeds feel more like a proper club}

Newsflash: A former work colleague, who now works in Miami, is a Chelsea fan and has just sent me a picture of himself and Roberto Di Matteo in Miami taken today. Word on the street there is that Matteo has had a couple of meetings with Cellino. My mate not sure if he has been discussing becoming Leeds manager as according to my mate Matteo is still being paid mega bucks by Abramovich because his Chelsea contract doesn't run out until summer. Not sure whether I'd like any further Chelsea links at our club. Still, if Cellino is looking to appoint an Italian manager at least Paolo Di Canio doesn't appear to be his first choice. Phew!

Agree5 Disagree2

Maybe you could forward Ed the pic by ensue to verify this
I for one hope BM us given the funds to be a success which thus far he hasn't

Agree4 Disagree1

Totally agree withthe fourth reply, BMD has instilled a team spirit within the squad and I hope that is allowed to grow stronger. Hopefully he will at least be given a chance with the purse strings loosened in the summer!

It is true that di Matteo and Zola are both in Florida at the moment, fitting in plenty of golf and it is true that they have met with celino.
It doesn't mean though that either are to be the next manager of leeds!
But we will see!

Agree1 Disagree0

BM's team got humiliated by Rochdale. Oh and Walsall in pre season. BM out, Laudrup in

Agree0 Disagree0

BM out Laudrup in?

what utter nonsense. however it doesn't suprise me that people are capable of such mindless drivel.

even if there was a case for BM out why would you swap him for Laudrup? And what would be his brief? Take us up now (as was asked of Warnock and didn't work) with your failed side ways passing football or build proper foundations for next season as asked of BMD and which is a plan he is so far carrying out in massively difficult circumstances.

Request you step away from the keyboard and engage brain

Got some more news that I've been aware of for a couple of weeks but decided to hold it till Massimo sold out.
This is really important and shows his intentions are long term.
On promotion to the Prem he will purchase all of the club.
That was a vital part of the deal.

Believable20 Unbelievable8

God what a big build up to nothing!

Agree1 Disagree3

I was slightly impressed with your inside knowledge survivor, you can't please everyone mate

Here we go.

Believable23 Unbelievable8

I was kinda hoping that he wouldn sell of his other club, can't hurt having a mate over there to share players etc.
but at least he can focus on us now though

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm liking Cellino more and more. Actions speak louder than words. Hopefully now he can focus all his resources on Leeds united

Agree3 Disagree0

Mate when do you reckon it will happen?

Agree1 Disagree1

End of next week he is not flying back from Miami till Wednesday

Ed. this is two hours old, from the Gazzette. Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino has announced that he is to sell the Sardinian club soon with negotiations reportedly being at an advanced stage.

This comes after recent news that the 47-year-old Italian is set for a 75 % takeover of Leeds United, which is still pending approval from The Football League.

“I have sold the club. When the papers are done I will tell you who the new owner is, ” Cellino told Sportsmediaset.

Earlier this week it was reported that the possible buyers were American investors, but it has been suggested that Cellino is in advanced negotiations with Arabian buyers.

Cellino has been the president of Cagliari since 1992. MOT

{Ed013's Note - All looks set for him to take over}

If he does leave Cagliari then he'll have our interests at heart i.e players coming here to STAY not to use us for game time :)

just reported in italia gazzeta massimocellino has sold cagliari

Believable25 Unbelievable9

I can´t find anything last the Gazzetta printed about cellino was 23 jan. I thought this peice on the Gazzetta a bit cheeky. Therefore, once the deal is finalised with the proper signatures, Leeds will be speaking Italian, just like Watford; a club owned by the Pozzo family who also count Udinese and Granada (in Spain) among their property. Cellino’s negotiations have been finalised with an investment of nearly €50 million, which is made up in part of cash and the rest consisting of equity funds. The investment is a two-year formula by design, which will guarantee gradual exposure to Cellino in his adventure across the English Channel. (Alberto Masu)

Agree1 Disagree0

Tis true, he has sold 98% of his stake to the yanks

Agree1 Disagree0

Good news for Leeds united . Hopefully now he can channel more resources into one team rather than two.

Agree0 Disagree1

Or maybeh e has had to sell the team 14th in Serie A to afford Leeds. JD

big news tomorrow cellino deal finally done!

Believable77 Unbelievable24

Cellino has a flight to Manchester booked for Friday and will introduce Festa as his new manager live on ssn Sports coverage of Saturday's match. Brian's compensation has been ratified with GFH by Cellino's legal negotiators.

Agree2 Disagree11

Where does it say that then?

Agree3 Disagree0

That s give the guy a chance we could be very surprised with the outcome MOT at least he knows the game not like these bunch of persons GFH. PL here we come forever LEEDS UNITED

Agree4 Disagree0

Cellino said publicly that Festa hasn't got the experience for manageing Leeds United. So it would be strange if Festa suddenly should have gained that experience in a couple of days.

Agree5 Disagree0

I wouldn't fly to manchester when leeds are playing at yeovil lol

Popey and phil will tell us when there is more news!

Isnt he suppossed to own his own plane?

Agree3 Disagree0

I think he will decide that BMD is the man for the job after last weekends fiasco.

If he has the money to keep the club going then I think we should give him a chance. As the post above says he has the experience in football unlike the clowns at GFH.

Just as long as he remembers about the fans and the heritage of the club.

Bring on the premier league I say!

More like northern premier the way our club is being handled

The deal will not be concluded tomorrow, the sheikhers (pardon the pun) and movers are Arabs based in Dubai and Friday is most definitely a day off.
