Heard rumours around leeds where strongly consider putting a package together for george friend and martin woods from doncaster rovers. Lonergren to sign tomorrow for 200k

Believable6 Unbelievable13

These 2 players will not make us better...

In graysons words I will only sign players that are better than we have now. or make us better ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt we will sign martin woods as we let him leave a few year ago as a teenager. And as for the donny left back he is worse than bassone so we won't get him either

CM targets currently being considered:

Seyi Olifinjana
Jonathan Greening
Danny Drinkwater
David Jones
Bolo zenden

Any 2 of these would be a good addition I think?

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Seyi Olifinjana - This should be number 1 priority.. I like this guy.

Jonathan Greening - Would be a good signing - good experience.

Danny Drinkwater - Don't know much about this guy only he is a scummer.

David Jones - Got a mate who is a Wolves Fan and he said this guy was good. Said he was unlucky to be dropped from team... A good passer apparently. FREE

Bolo zenden - Bit old for my liking

Agree0 Disagree0

Any of them apart from Drinkwater , Don't rate him

Is it true that Peter whittingham is coming to Leeds united, please say it's true, his one great player, and would be a great signing for Leeds united {Ed017's Note - News is he is linked with Norwich City and Portsmouth.

Believable12 Unbelievable10

He is leaving Cardiff because he wants more money - We have KB work it out for yourselves

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll go to Pompey .... new owners new money. Either way there is no way Leeds will get him .... wages end of :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds Target Nicky Maynard

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Maynard is with respect too good for current club - Kilkenny take note but he would command a fee that would scare KB off to put it mildly

Likely Leeds Transfers
Ins:
George Friend LB (Doncaster)
Jonathan Woodgate CB (Spurs)
Alan Smith CM (Newcastle)
Eric Lichaj RB (Aston Villa)
Micheal Brown CM (Portsmouth)
Peter Whittingham LM (Cardiff)
Outs:
Luciano Becchio ST (Swansea, Celtic)
Robert Snodgrass LW (Norwich, Stoke, West Brom, Blackburn)
Billy Paynter ST (Swap with Sheffield for Nick Montgomery CDM)
Max Gradel RW (West Ham)
Richard Naylor CB (Ipswich)
Patrick Kisnorbo CB (Crystal Palace)

Believable3 Unbelievable33

Naylor is at donny and wittingham is at Birmingham haha plus becchio is Leeds through and through Leeds Leeds Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

All the outs r highly unlikely as a direct quote from KB today said we wont sell our players... Gradel becchio n snodgrass all stayin put

Agree0 Disagree0

Why wud we get rid off becchio, paynter, gradel and snods and bring in no other attackers? sounds daft to me mate sell 4 and bring in 0?

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot Lord Lucan and Kurt Cobain signing too Which mind altering chemicals are you taking? Like we are going to let Snodds, Max and the as yet untried Paynter go. As for your fantasy signings, they are frankly laughable. Has Ken won the Euro Millions?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of bul****t...we are not going to let upto 4 of our first team to leave for other clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont you read the offical site? why make s**t up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably from a fan of another club or someone who has totally lost hope and might as well be a fan of another club. Becchio Gradel and Snodgrass are going nowhere and Kisnorbo is highly unlikely to move. Naylor has been released so that's hardly news. Paynter isn't going anywhere, unfortunately.

Calling BS on this.

Just posted another picture of a shirt, this time however, Johnny Howson is in it

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Just had A look at the shirt and I like it apart from the sponcer looks tacky

I think its crap, and Im not one to usually complain.

Too all the Leeds fans who think we are selling up or that we won't be bringing in new faces you might want to check the Leeds website. Bates has said we will be bringing in big players. Have faith. What so you think. Leeds leeds leeds

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Can't recall him saying "big". If he did he probably meant 6ft 1"

Agree0 Disagree0

He has tried to get 3 players, all of which went to a prem side. Kind of shows the calibre of player he's going for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same Ken Bates who said on numerous occasions I don't own Leeds United

Agree0 Disagree0

Big players.....Filling in the blanks I see??

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but where does it say we will bring in 'big' players, it only says we will bring in 4 players, we dont have the resource to tempt 'big' players atm

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2011 18:27:15
now then ed? how are you? who do you think Leeds are realistically targeting? {Ed015's Note - lonergan, no idea who else}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

06 Jul 2011 16:50:58
ed.....oli dacourt - 36 yrs old, id have him bk instead of smith and bowyer. wud u have him?? {Ed015's Note - no}

Believable5 Unbelievable12

You would sign a 36 year old If you're serious then oh dear...

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is wrong. Oliver would be welcome edition. ed are you our worst manager ever i.e. el tel {Ed017's Note - Ed015 is right a big no. Verry Terribles should of never come to Leeds either that was a mistake IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

A 36 yr old in midfield? Mind you how old was strachan/scholes/giggs {Ed017's Note - Fair point

Agree0 Disagree0

Oli was great, but lets move on from old players, it would be the wrong direction to move forward

Agree0 Disagree0

Dacourt is the greatest frenchman to ever where a leeds shirt that is a great shout

Gotta say Simon Grayson must be fuming with his son giving away all the players we seem to be going for...

Believable14 Unbelievable0

His son should take over if he can sign all those players. We would start to rival Leicester

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Have you got a link? I can't find it anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Also looking for a link, I wasn't aware there was an official FB page?

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks ok doesnt wow me but ill be buying and just google leeds united facebook pic of jonny wearing it

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen the shirt howson modelling it , a bit basic design but shirt looks ok

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not official Facebook page just go on and look for Leeds united mad. I've seen the pic not sure about v neck if this is indeed the new kit.

snodgrass discussing contract with aston villa after 8.5 mil deal agreed

Believable11 Unbelievable27

Would take 8.5 mil for Snoddy, if all the cash was spend on new players rather than yachts

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. George Boyd as a cheap like-for-like replacement, plus funding for more players.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we got that kind of money i would bring Pitroipa in unless hes already signed for rennes

Agree0 Disagree0

Very believable as a replacement for downing who looks Liverpool bound. will be sad to see him go if it does happen but for 8.5 mil is a good deal all round if we can have the cash for more players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bite their hand off, Snoddy's good but not that good, though it would be 200k on a replacement and 8m in bates bank

Agree0 Disagree0

8.5 million.... Where does he sign.... ?
I would take that no problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

You believe this? After bates has come out publicly today and stated none of the top players will be leaving and that we're not a breeding ground for other clubs?

Agree0 Disagree0

KB would accept 5M to put in the Monaco benevolent fund so I can't see Villa offering 8.5m
If they are it's a no brainer although SG would be lucky to see 10% to buy replacements

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is this story is made up..i guarantee it

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol why would a team offer more than the price tag a club puts on a player? Makes no sense, if your goin to make up a rumour try and make it believable

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd personally drive him to Villa Park for that money

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2011 17:48:51
Listen, Click believable if you agree with me, disagree unbeleivable, but Sion Grayson said whatever money comes in we will be spending it straight away. Eric Lichaj was really impressive, unfazed by the large crowds and atmosphere, took people on down the wing, he was great on either flank. Forget about getting him on loan If he has an awesome season his value will go up sky high Buy him now for a couple of million whilst we can. I can see him been an integral part of Leeds Uniteds future. (and he is a spitting image of Tennis World number 1 - Djokovic)

Believable22 Unbelievable7

The thing is that Villa see him as a big part of their future aswell Kind of like us with Howson and the Lewis brothers....the fee that Villa would want would probably be in the region of around £4m to account for lost potential........can't see Bates paying that

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, I agree..Good pacy left back, his crossing wasn't too bad either

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have a new sponsorship with nationwide car hire, did nobody check the leeds website?

www.leedsunited.com/news/20110701/nationwide-car-hire-uk-jump-on-board_2247585_2384713

Believable5 Unbelievable10

They're not the kit sponsors they are just the commercial partners. They won't be on the shirt

That is nothing to do with kit sponsorship You might quote links to the website but why not read the article yourself?

very strong rumour that the 4 players leeds are in deep discussions with are

LONERGAN
DELANEY
MONTGOMERY
GREENING

MOT

Believable15 Unbelievable7

Also heard romour bour greening, good solid player, would be a great addition to squad miles better than johnson and kilkenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep....thats about the level of footballer we are currently attracting

Agree0 Disagree0

If thats the best LEEDS can bring in, forget about promotion

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope it is true .... Would take Greening and Lonergan at least tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Greening would be a quality signing and Delaney and Montgomery would strenghen a weakened squad. Lonergan was highly rated at Preston and was player of the season 2 years running before seeming to fall to pieces last season. Preston conceded shed loads of goals before Turner replaced him and don't forget half Prestons back four will be playing PL next season. Will playing behind our back four repair his shattered confidence ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't mind getting those 3 in. Would make us stronger.

Promotion? Looking more like relegation dog fight than a prmotion season as things currently stand. I think these 4 would all be good additions and improve that siuation, in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Greening good mates with Richard Cresswell who lives just outside York, so can deffo see that one happening, if wages aren't an issue

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson interested in bringing Eric lichaj from villa on a season long loan.

Believable18 Unbelievable3

I thought he was w*nk last season wheres the class signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoppee do
I look forward to the end of the season, we will end up mid table.there seems to be a lack of ambition at Elland Road.
I truly hope i am wrong
Prove me wrong Mr Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

The article actually says if they want us to go down that route, hinting he would rather sign perm deal, as short term loans are difficult. Sounds like SG may have learnt his lesson on loanees

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen, Click believable if you agree with me, disagree unbeleivable, but Sion Grayson said whatever money comes in we will be spending it straight away. Eric Lichaj was really impressive, unfazed by the large crowds and atmosphere, took people on down the wing, he was great on either flank. six TV dates, means 1.5m more to spend for SG, suspect he won't see a penny

Believable19 Unbelievable4

Arghh stop talking crap we wont see none of that if you got nothing positive to say about leeds dont write on here

Agree0 Disagree0

What 1.5million ? don't you mean an undisclosed fee ?

Agree0 Disagree0

TV dates don't result in us getting more money (or the amount is negligible) since we lose about 6000 fans in gates each time.

don't believe this for one second myself however it is a rumour......patrick viera has apparently been in wetherby today talking to estate agents. sure its complete rubbish but a rumour nevertheless. if it turns out to be true, despite his age, he'd be the dm solution for at least a year. more likely he'll be commuting to leicster from wetherby to be honest

Believable5 Unbelievable22

He will def be on his way to leicester now its been mentioned on here ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i have heard rumours brighton are after him so no reason leeds wouldnt be?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wetherby is a pretty nice place - maybe he's just investing some of his millions in some amazing mansion in God's own county

Agree0 Disagree0

I still don't believe it but then again, as it was put to me when i was told, he's no doubt made his money, could play a starring role. possibly player/coach type role? anyway sounds unlikely but thought id post it for a laugh Living down the road from there myself, if he's looking at Linton or somewhere similar, he could do a lot worse generally, whether its related to leeds, doubtful

Agree0 Disagree0

Been a rumour for the last few transfer windows so could be true

Agree0 Disagree0

This Rumour was doing the rounds last summer. Can someine please think of some new ones this year. Its getting boring now.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be a good signing but only as a player coach, get him playing 10-15 games a year when the fixtures pile up and training the young midfielders on how to tackle properly and have a real box-to-box engine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha, i seem to remember this exact same rumour this time last season before he went to Man City I know its a rumour site but i wish these rumours would stop getting recycled.

Leeds kit to be announced in the next few days. The players saw the kit today so the sponsor has been confirmed. The club are just waiting for the photoshoot before it is announced and goes on sale.

Believable18 Unbelievable1

That's a relief...I was starting to think that the boys were going to have to start the season playing in their vest and pants :Op

Hungarian international bodnar, i think his name is, 32 year old defender. On a free wants to come to a british club. Not necessarily leeds only the premier league newcomers have been linked.. What do u think ed? {Ed015's Note - not heard of him but at 32years old surely he doesnt have that long left at top flight football}

Believable4 Unbelievable11

06 Jul 2011 14:15:15
Why is everyone getting so worked up about the possibility of re-signing Woodgate? If we got him he'd drain our finances and we'd be lucky if he played 50% of the games. We need a good CB who is capable of playing every game and we have one already.

Why is no one talking about Tom Lees? He was Bury player of the season last year in their promotion campaign, played nearly every game and chipped in with a few important goals. Previous year had almost a full season with Accrington Stanley. Yes you doubters will say "it's a different level in League 2", but I think Grayson has got to give this lad a chance.

He can only improve our defence - there is no way he could be as poor as some of the CBs we saw last season {Ed015's Note - We need players that have the experiance, im all for giving Lee's a chance but not as a 1st team regualer, as a sub player like somma was last season}

Believable16 Unbelievable0

Because some Lees fans are obsessed with days of old, rival fans say we live in the past, these fans are proving them rigt. Move on ppl

Rob Earnshaw to be swapped for Davide Somma + 500k

Believable4 Unbelievable37

He has signed for Cardiff - and we should have got Earnie plus 500k for Somma

Agree0 Disagree0

Earnshaw has signed for cardiff, we would be bonkers to swap him for earnshaw anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was this posted by the same person who posted McGucan, Malbranque , Parker, Eagles , Petrov & Hargreaves rumours over a 19 minute period ? Hard to decide which is the least likely but I guess that honour has to go to the Earnshaw nonsense as he only signed for Cardiff this morning. News coming out of Elland Road for the 3 old boys is:

Woodgate - Stalling on making a decision. Looking to be waiting for a club to offer at least a 2 year deal. (Probably Brighton or Cardiff). He also thinks that Leeds 'isn't the club for him'

Smith - Has told the media in Newcastle that he wants to stay and fight for a first team place. He's in too much of a comfort zone up there...

Bowyer - Has held 'extremley positive' talks with Ipswich, rumoured to be based on a 2 year £21k a week contract. (Leeds offering £13k max).

Believable27 Unbelievable18

Re Smith - actual quotes anywhere? papers claimed agent said hed consider staying at Newcastle if no better offers came in and that he wouldn't be forced out but no actual quotes from agent or smith himself....

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt this very much. Smith wants to come back to his home club. Woodgate and bowyer i am not sure of but believe they would like to return as well. But we will have to wait to see what happens

Agree0 Disagree0

Truth be told I can't see any of them coming back we simply can't afford them. If Smudge has 1 year left on his Newc contract .. and his deal to come to Leeds is 30K wages paid by Newc and 15K by us what haapens next year when his contract with newcastle expires ? ... do we fork out 45k? ...no chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith's agent has quoted as saying next move would not be for money

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm getting quite exasperated by suggestions it's stalled due to wages on Smithys part it's well documented that he would take a cut just whether that's enough for Bates...
I understand all the stuff about injuries etc but it would severely p me off if Woodgate turned up instead of Smith as Jon has had injury after injury even when in his prime at Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

This was in the Newcastle Chronicle the other day about Smith.

Stoke are now in for Woodgate and are prepared to meet his wage demands......not good (Sky Sports)

Plus the Longegran deal has hit a speed bump.....about guess what....WAGES

Agree0 Disagree0

The chronicle and northern echo both ran stories saying smith wouldn't be forced out of Newcastle but had offers to mull over, yet nothing concrete from smith or the agent was covered. Either way, it's pretty dull at the moment at ER...time will tell what Bates has up his sleeve. What's our wage cap these days anyway? Schmeichel was (rumoured) on £16k hmmm {Ed015's Note - suprisingly our basic wage cap isnt as strick as people think, its the bonuses that we hold back on, as im sure we all know what big bonuses do to clubs .... }

Agree0 Disagree0

Bowyer will go to Ipswich-More money
Woodgate- definately dont want him, what a waste he would be, he'll end up somewhere like leister where he'sll be on big wages.
Smith- Im not sure what the comfort zone means....Is he comfortable with not getting a game or privately? Either way he doesnt seem to care about the game anymore. Let him sit on Newc bench for his undeserved wages, he isnt are problem, at least our money will go on a much younger player. WHEN he eventually gets booted from SJP he'll be another to follow the cash. If he doesnt return now he will NEVER return.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want any of them back, they're all in the past

Agree0 Disagree0

how long before fans at end of month, start saying in grayson and bates we trust, we have loads of time to get decent players in, What a joke, we will struggle this year FACT

Believable17 Unbelievable18

No it's not FACT it's your opinion and you have a 50/50 chance of being right, personally I think you're talking b*llocks.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am fed up of negative attitudes like this, we did brilliantly last season and if negative nellies like you go away then we can do even better this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt say brilliant...we lost a lot of stupid games that would have left us in the top 2 in the table....winning the league was thrown away..

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end of the day we did well with a League1 team so this season we will go 1 better.

06 Jul 2011 12:42:18
To all the people who now think we are only signing 4 players this pre-season, think again. What Bates was actually saying was we are in serious discussions with 4 players. Rest assured there'll be more than 4 coming in

MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Bates actually says the following :-
"I can confirm we are in serious discussions with a number of players, " Bates told Yorkshire Radio. "We are looking to sign four players".

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct me if I am wrong guys I would like your opinions but do you agree with me when I say I think that the players they are looking at is a GK, RB, CM, and either a LB or CB? I wonder if he thinks we dont need a CB, with paddy + obrien as 1st choice and young tallent lees and bromby as back up, also wonder if he thinks parker and white can do a job at LB? Let me know, just trying to think from simons p.o.v S T W

Believable20 Unbelievable1

Why do we need a right back?

I still don't get this one.....

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he must be looking at two centre midfielders. Johnson and Kilkenny need to be replaced because we struggled in the centre of midfield at the end of last season and had to bring in two loanees. We need another centre half, two full backs ( right and left ) and a keeper. 6 signings needed in total.

Agree0 Disagree0

We only have 1 right back and got to take into concideration fighting for places and injuries

Agree0 Disagree0

I think lichaj wad better than wot we have at RB so I think he would be an improvement to the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Bruce and Bromby can both play at RB as backup and we currently have to LBs. So GK (Lonergan) is the first step, then two CMs, then possibly Lichaj as first choice LB and cover at RB.

Agree0 Disagree0

rumour from a very close source has it that schmeichel was sold for £850 000, if thats the case then weve barely over a million to spend on players and wages, 200 000 for lonergan and securing the services of gradel n snodgrass would very much leave us in the lurch..and alot of our radar players have gone elsewhere due to wage demands and signing on fees

IN GRAYSON WE TRUST

Believable3 Unbelievable21

Do you genuinely think that the sole reason we sold kasper was simply to raise funds for summer buys and wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

There was no way the schmeichel deal was about generating transfer funds given the measly amount we got for him more about a clash of egos from what I've heard?

Agree0 Disagree0

How much have we also saved on the wages of Johnson, Kilkenny, Naylor, Kasper, Higgs, e.t.c that will now be used for new players wages, (as well as the loans which have gone back)

Agree0 Disagree0

... im sure we still have the money for other players we have sold dont get me wrong but im sure weve been making profit for a while now so we definately have some funds somewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky sports said the deal was in excess of 1m so that was the minimum we got, and the next day ssn updated it saying it was a 1.2m deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2011 11:35:23
Bates just confirmed in discussions to sign 4 players, no one else leaving, had 1 offer for a player, we turned it down, want to be in the premier league. NOT A BREEDING GROUND FOR OTHER CLUBS

missed out on 3 targets due to them signing for premier league clubs (ed- who do you reckon they were?)

source - official site
{Ed008's Note - Westwood was defiantly one, other players could have been Pratley,Caulker,Billy Jones and McAuley. Take your pick from there.

Believable20 Unbelievable1

Who are the players we're in discussions with? anyone have a realistic shout on that ? Appreciate we're running a tight ship and there's plenty of time but it'd be nice to have fresh talent in before the first friendly tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

The 3 players seem to be westwood... caulker on loan and i think the other was pratley to bolton? {Ed008's Note - Yeah thats what i'm hearing aswell maybe Billy Jones as a lot of championship clubs wanted him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quote from todads Yorkshire Evening Post.

Leeds United were hoping to confirm Andy Lonergan as their second summer signing today, concluding the club s search for new goalkeepers. Lonergan was on the verge of completing a transfer from Preston North End this morning after Leeds manager Simon Grayson identified him as a suitable replacement for the departed Kasper Schmeichel.

Were and was doesnt sound so positive???

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Hope he doesnt sign. conceeded more than kasper and isnt that good in my eyes. we need dudek. the experience he would bring would help us out loads. been understoody to the best keeper in the world for 3 years....

Agree0 Disagree0

If we assume that the squad will contain 3 goalkeepers as in previous years then SG has only filled 2 shirts. I still expect him to unveil a further direct replacement for Kaspar possibly Dudek, but he's more likely to be a smokescreen for the real target

Agree0 Disagree0

Dudeck is w**k im 16 and would be a better replacement ... whats the point in signing a old man when you can sign another youngster who would be good providing we have a strong defence and how did you work out he conceeded more when he didnt play last season much?

Agree0 Disagree0

Preston conceded more, not Lonergan. A goalkeeper isn't necessarily responsible for every goal conceded otherwise why bother with a defence? If we get a 3rd 'keeper in I would ussume it will be Alnwick who's just been released by Spurs I believe. By saying "were" they mean that's what the situation was when they got their information.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 16 year old who said Dudek is w**k, You where still in nappies when he was top of his game at Liverpool. He is 38, christ Pat Jennings was still playing top flight at 42. He would be an asset if he joined Leeds United.
He has been training with probably the best goalkeeper in the world for the last 3 years.
You need experience in a goalkeeper, not a kid who cant organise his defence

Leeds are only signing four players this transfer window these will be:
A goalkeeper
A Left back
A centre back
A central midfielder

Leeds have already missed out on two players which have moves to the premier league these are:
Darren Pratley
Steven Caulker
{Ed008's Note - Don't forget Westwood.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

I think we will sign 4 first team players but i think we need to sign 7. we have lost 5 players in and around the first team squad in kasper, naylor, killa jonno and watt..... we had a small squad coming out of the jan transfer window which i think cost us top 6 place.... we need more depth...

Agree0 Disagree0

He Said That He's In Talks With 4 Players Not That There Only Signing Just 4 Players Mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Can i just say about the kilkenny going e already have nunes ready to step in for him so do we need another central midfielder ?? i dont want smith to come back as this would lead us to play 4-5-1 and not our strongest formation as 4-4-2

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah two of the three were Gareth McAuley and Billy Jones

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who said we dont need another central midfielder, yes we do, we need a hard tackler to replace Bradley Johnson and our strongest formation last season was 4-3-3 with snods and gradel on wing with becchio in the middle not 4-4-2

Yorkshire radio never seem 2 ask any of the questions fans want asking
1 why r we spending so much on the East stand
2 no sponsor why or when ?
3 no new kit when
4 the players supposed 2b 'in discussions' is it money why they won't commit and are waiting for better offers 2 come in
Grayson we trust but he needs 2 man up and demand players who will at least give us a chance of challenging for a top 6 place
Keith LUFC

Believable15 Unbelievable3

I'll have a go at answering the questions...

1. Because it's a long term investment and will prove to be very lucrative, just like the centenary pavillion.

2. In negotiations, likely they will be concluded in toime for the new season, want to get the best deal for the club.

3. When we have chosen the best sponsor.

4. It takes time, we won't break our wage budget / structure so if the players are motivated by money and not playing for the football club, we don't want them anyway.

Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Hospitality provides huge income hence the east stand re-development, especially when its effectively wasted space as Uncle Ken hardly opens it - its better used for hospitality where i'm sure they have a list of people waiting to sign up and paying outrageous amounts of money to do so. I used to work in commercial dept selling boxes/hospitality so know the kind of money this could/will bring in and also the kind of demand there is too.

No sponsor = no kit. I'm sure they will be in negotiations but until the deal is signed, we probably won't see the kit (which is probably ready subject to sponsor on the front)

finally, a lot of players have only just come back from hols a few days ago, keep in mind getting hold of agents, clubs, the player themselves.....if they are that good, probably in demand from other clubs so things dont happen overnight

I really want to see some deals coming in but we all need to stop panicking

Agree0 Disagree0

The sponsorship has been signed, will be announced soon....

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have a year left on the Netflights sponsorship
Macron just haven't released the kit yet that's all. Should be done next week

Agree0 Disagree0

Its looking like the bookies for the kit sponser

Gue da Fofana (born 16 May 1991 in Le Havre) is a French football player of Guinean and Malian descent who currently plays for French club Le Havre in Ligue 2. He is a French youth international and has captained at all levels of youth. In 2010, Fofana captained the France team that won the 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship on home soil. He operates as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a defender and is known for his physical style of play

fits the mould, could be good if true, nearly joined the villa in january apparently..

Football manager rumour. I bought him in the game for 3mil. He is great in real life but way to expensive for us. So not realistic

Ken Bates quotes as follows:-

"I can confirm we are in serious discussions with a number of players, " Bates told Yorkshire Radio. "We are looking to sign four players.

"There are three that we failed to get because they signed for Premier League clubs, but that shows the quality we are trying to get it, and you can't blame the players.

"I'm not going into too much detail because it's stupid to comment on what you are doing when all you do is alert the competition.

"There are rumours you read in the papers, that this club is going to offer x for someone and y for someone else. It's all newspaper talk or agents trying to stimulate interest.

"I can assure fans that we have no intentions of selling our top players unless the offer is so ridiculous that it will enable Simon to strengthen his team in other ways.

"Our aim this year is to get in the Premier League and not be a breeding ground for others."

Leeds United Midfielder Jonathan Howson has been in talks with barnsley football club but according to sources is still considering the move to oakwell. {Ed008's Note - Why would Howson one of Leed's best player want to talk to a poor club like Barnsley ? Leed's are going on the up and Barnsley are on their way down :/

Believable3 Unbelievable34

What a load of crap, barnsley could not afford him, and why would he leave a club who he supported from a boy and now captain of to sign for a team that will struggle next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed u shouldnt even have posted this... howson (next seasons captain) talking to barnsley?? a die hard leeds fan a passionate player for leeds utd... and you think hes gonna go to barnsley?? hahahahahahahaa. cheered me right up lol {Ed008's Note - I know but i had to make a point lol it was probably a Barnsley fan who wrote this aswell. Howson would never leave the club like that. FACT

Players missed out on I reckon are Westood (Sunderland) Billy Jones (W.B.A) Prately (Bolton) would love Lee bowyer back. typical tough midfielder with a goal scoring touch

On yorkshire radio Bates has said that Leeds Utd are in serious discussions with a number of players and are looking to sign 4 players. Does that make everyone a bit more optimistic towards the season, not me if we sign another keeper that means we are only signing 3 outfield players.

Leeds are ready to seal a deal for keeper Andy Lonergan after agreeing a £200,000 fee with League One-bound Preston.

Lonergan has had a medical and discussed terms at Elland Road and is expected to sign on today as a replacement for Kasper Schmiechel, who has moved to Leicester City.

Everton took a long look at Lonergan during the second half of last season - he even went training with them - but the Toffees have not been able to raise the cash or create a squad vacancy for him.
