I've heard people mention that we could be under a transfer embargo in Jan due to GFH's losses. Would explain the large amount of signings this window. I'm just the messenger.

It's been true for months.
However when MC buys ER from Jacob Adler by November this will change things.

It would be down to the way gfh were running the club, funny because I can't remember this bunch of Gumpy's having any grief when they brought the club of Bates .
The F l make cock-ups then the clubs, well mainly the fans end up paying .

It would only be for january, we probably won't need anyone and we can still sell I believe. Once Cellino re-acquires ER the financial equation will change possibly impacting the embargo but have to say don't think so.

Dogwise was spot-on. There was a detailed article in YEP about it. Essentially, GFH is terrible and set us back at least 2 years.

We won't be the only Championship club in the firing line. But MC has been very clever - getting a big squad together in case we have an embargo, and spreading the purchases over different financial years. Another sign of a very astute businessman.

Buying ER means nothing as does the Ross money. These were for accounts 2013-14 and therefore those deals are after the deadline. What will help is if we are now financially stable but knowing how the FA hate us we will be punished so well done to MC for future proofing us past the January window

It's down to the Football league of whom former Leeds C E O Shaun Harvey is now the man in charge.
He has his fingers in the Leeds pie up to gfh, and has the neck to make comments on M C .
M C has been constantly referred to as a convicted fraudster by media before and after his purchase of Leeds, however other peoples dealings have only come to light SINCE,
His cut backs on staff and choice of players hence lowering wage bill, now begins to make even more sense as it looks likely a punishment may be given to an owner who was nothing to do with the club at the time of financial mismanagement .

Slingsby W.

That is a silly statement to make ( spreading costs ), ALL transfers are subject to payment of transfer fees over the contract period of the player. If 2 years then 2 payments etc.
