Wish we had played youngsters today. May have lost but would have shown more passion and respect for the shirt.

Not bothered about losing today but disappointed that many of the fringe players or returning players didn't take the opportunity they were given. OK, TC can take the blame for picking them but these are players who should be fighting to establish themselves as regulars. The other real damage is Saiz getting himself sent off when we really need him. The only good thing is that it highlights the need to strengthen both to improve the first 11 and the squad.

Several times a loss in the 3rd round of the cup has determined our season. Cardiff, Sutton and now I have a depressing feeling that the Newport will see the wheels come off and a terrible 4 months eventuate. Hope I am wrong but I've seen it before and have a gut feeling. PS I am not an optimist.

I'm not convinced the FA cup results were the 'cause' of the wheels coming off in those seasons - rather, i suspect they were a symptom of the true cause which was that we weren't good enough.

I'm not saying we're going to make the play offs, but if we do the manager will deserve lots of credit. After losing three of best players from last season it would be an amazing achievement. Wood Taylor and on loan Bartley were top players in this division. Again I'm not saying we will make the playoffs but you never know. At start of season I had us down as top ten at best. Some will say after today we have no chance any they might be right but as it stands.

We didn't lose Bartley as we never owned him

Didn't loose Bartley but didn't replace him.

If Grot is 'one for the future' and deemed good enough to warrant chances in the first team, how good or otherwise are the other 'ones for the future' who are not considered to be good enough to get any playing time? Recruitment thus far, with the exception of Saiz, has been poor to say the least. Are any of them better than the ones we let go; Taylor, Green, Wood, Bartley and Bridcutt?
