BMD wants at least 7 new signings this summer
judging by the reports its;

- LeFondre
- Sunny
- Humphrey or Mackay Stevens
- Wells

and the rest seems to be rumors about young payers from lower leagues.

if this is true could have a very good first full season under BMD

Believable42 Unbelievable24

If we managed to capture 3 of these guys at least I would be very excited about next season. We'd defo be up there. Mot

Agree1 Disagree0

Those Sunny rumors have been circulating for some time now, and I still have no idea who h is.

Not quite sure on Wells. Very talented player, but does seem to split opinion. Think the cup run may blind a few people upon his ability. For the right price it could be a real bargain, but this season has shown that many good players are available from the lower leagues.

Mc d knows what he's doing remember he used to be a top scout so I think he knows what he is looking for, we need young hungry players and by the looks of it that's what we are getting looking forward to next season and I think we are all going to go mental marching on together to the premier league ls6 h. p. c 4 lif3 :).

Leeds to try and sign Wynne the centre back and are looking at paddy madden and Shane long but both very unlikely

Believable11 Unbelievable22

Lmao shane long omg quit dreaming

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the same Shane Long that has played well in the premiership this year and is pretty much garenteed a starting spot next year with Lukaku and Odemwinge gone from WBA.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wynne as in, fast as Walcott, Wynne? Give over!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy Madden wouldn't surprise me, I know he has had a very good year in league 1, and McDermott is very good at helping players step up.

Erm only thing I would be worried about is his track record, I know he had a very unsuccessful spell at Carlisle. Still might be worth a punt for the right price.

Wynne from MLS? (Never seen him play, but recognize the name, what's he like?)

Shane Long, like others have said, there is no chance at all. Even if by some miracle he was available, they paid £7 million for him, and could easily command a figure above that. Very good player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I signed Wynne on Fifa once haha.

i thought he was a full back due to his pace?

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Wynne the guy is so quick and strong he would adapt to English football and has all the attributes to be a really good CB.

At 26 he is at a good age, his contract runs to 31. 12. 2014 and would be available for a fee of around £400k.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marvell Wynne A 5ft 9in centre back. Don't make me laugh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a few world class CB's that have played the game:

Franco Baresi 5ft 10inches
Bobby Moore 5ft 11inches
Fabio Cannavaro 5ft 9inches

You see height isn't everything if you can read a game and have the technical & physical attributes to succeed. {Ed003's Note - You are not one of them small guys who drive big cars are you? }

Agree0 Disagree0

Marvell wynn officially the fsatest player on earth, faster than theo for the record.

Leeds scouts have been watching a number of players from league 1 in the past few weeks. They were at the Shrewsbury vs Oldham game to assess Mat Smith from Oldham and Jon Taylor of the Shrews. 2 young players ready to step up to the championship.

Believable33 Unbelievable25

Why does Brian want to buy these crap players we are trying to get in the premier league not relegated to league 1

Agree0 Disagree1

"Why does Brian want to buy these players we are trying to get in the premier league not relegated to league 1. "

In response: A number of good quality players have come through league 1 (Le Fondre, Austin, Apkan, Rhodes, Westwood). Players with a great attitude on decent wages, for a great price. Not every player works out well, but neither does signing star quality players. (You only have to look at Wolves this season).

I saw Mat Smith play a few times, and he seemed like a player who could develop into a very good player in time. Not sure how well he did over the season, but I'm sure there is a few good buys in league 1 this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith is a donkey, people just see he scored a few against prem teams and make the link themselves. He is not good enough.

We need a striker with pace to fit into the modern game, not a cart horse.

Leeds showing serious interest in Swindon's goalkeeper Wesley Foderingham.

Believable16 Unbelievable48

I was at brentford vs swindon he was very good man of the match even, but do we need new goalkeeper?

Agree0 Disagree1

So what you really mean is you saw his impressive display against brentford and thought you'd start a rumour off!

Agree2 Disagree0

Not really seen as though he was in league 1 team of the year

Agree1 Disagree0

What the same guy Di Canio had trouble with. No thanks.

Heard via an ex colleague who now works as part of the Finance team at Elland Road, a lot of buzz around Jonny Howson coming back to Leeds this summer. Apparently McDermotts "list" he handed to the board had an extra pair of eyes than intended. Feeling behind Howson, is that he is unhappy with not playing week in week out and Norwich are wanting to strengthen to stay in the Premiership next season. Leaving Howson in a situation where he won't be playing much.

I would welcome him back if this comes true!

Believable26 Unbelievable66

Waaah! Poor Johnny, I guess a paycheck isn't enough, but he's at a premiership team so has a shot at an england call up. HA!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not playing week in week out? He has played in 884 out of the last 900 minutes, so stop talking rubbish.

Agree1 Disagree0

Howson is not good enough for Norwich. He definitely is not good enough for us. I wasn't too cut up when he went - don't want him back now. Would lose a bit of confidence in Mc D if he did.

Agree1 Disagree0

He will be back here anyway when Wigan do their usual escape act and Norwich go down Will he make their Championship XI?

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks been there done that time to move on.
Liverbird

Agree1 Disagree0

He didn't think twice about jumping ship for greener pastures. Stop being so sentimental. Let him rot at Norwich

Agree2 Disagree0

Might be in same division as us next year. JD

Agree0 Disagree0

Macca's an intelligent guy why waste what money he's given on that prick. Let's concentrate on bringing in players who are hungry for success and not looking for a quick buck!

we do need that type of player now. we have the solid type in green, austin and tonge.
At the time we had howson he got lost in games but that was mainly because we played so attacking under grayson and didn't use killer or Johnson as an holding midfielder.
We have an howson type player in dawson but he's still very young and probably needs a season in league 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw him on Briggate last Wednesday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tonge? Solid? Come off it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some poor, ungracious comments about a model pro who served us well over a long period of time, and gave us some memorable moments (Bristol Rovers, Carlisle, that pass at Old Trafford. ), not to mention being one of our youngest ever permanent captains. Shame some fans are so unappreciative. As for not thinking twice before 'jumping ship, ' that's not true -Bates bit Norwich's hands off, because Bates was desperate for some cash to help fund his East Stand vanity project. Chapel A

Agree1 Disagree0

Like any item that is sold cheaply to get rid of it "when it's gone, it's gone"

Agree0 Disagree0

Why take him back he thought he was better than Leeds and left not our problem that it's blown up in his face

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2013 22:07:49
Get him back.

Great player and better than what we have.

Knows the club and can handle the expectation.

Was pushed out the door by Bates when he was expecting to stay.

Agree1 Disagree1

He refused to sign a new contract with us so if we hadn't have sold him he would have gone for nothing. Plus he was injured at the time he left for delia land.
Why ŵould/ should he come back now? He's not likely to get any better deal then was on the table before he left.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he doesn't come back he is useless! wake up he was garbage in l1 and can't hack it in championship let alone in prem, watch the games he does nothing he is hopeless please please no, we have better midfielders already

Agree0 Disagree0

I've also heard from someone who lives near his mum and dad that he is set to rejoin us in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would welcome him back he was one of the few players with passion when he played like when we were 2-1 down to doncaster and straight from the kick off he ran through there whole team and scored as he didn't want to lose a derby game

Grant holt to be mcdermott's main transfer target this summer

Believable14 Unbelievable38

Too old imo

Agree0 Disagree0

God I hope not I don't rate him maybe 3-4 years a go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please tell me they will take Morison back as part of the deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2013 22:09:05
To old now.

Better to take Becchio and offer Morison in exchange ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeeze I hope not, need someone younger and with a bit of flair

Is there any inside information rumours yet?
Must be a few in the know who we are looking at.
Mcd seens keen on diouf, mackornack, byram, poleon and a few other yourh players too. Good core now for the toffee.

Believable32 Unbelievable6

I don't know, but I know who I would like to see come in:

Carson in goal - a very out there suggestion
Dawson at the back - unlikely
Carroll / Macechran / Frimpong in midfielid - possibly
Russell, Humphreys LeFondre or Wells upfront.

Sako / doyle / Johnson / oHara all good possibilities from wolves

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish people would stop going on about getting a load of people from relegated clubs. Yes by all means look at one or two but surely we need to learn from last season when Warnock just brought in a load of ex Portsmouth players who have proven why Portsmouth were relegated last season

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we could afford all the players from wolves, let alone their wages. I meant good possibilities, to mean exactly what it means.

May be I should have spelt out a bit better. At least I ain't mentioning Samba, bosingwa, Zamora and Cesar. no that would just be ridiculous.

LeFondre doesn't count though, would be a very good adddition bearing in mind his experience with MacD. And the rest have been thought about

Agree0 Disagree0

well said the last post - fed up of getting players who couldn't keep their last club up.

RS

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see the problem with buying the better players from the relegated teams such as Adomah, Ebanks-Blake and Gayle but we shouldn't make a habit of buying players just from relegated clubs, we need to buy some real quality players as well if we want promotion

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit unfair about portsmouth- it was a depressed club all season with wages boy being paid and Appleton has to transfer power, they only went down after being deducted 10 points- that being the case we would have been relegated this season if it was us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want roger johnson 3 relegations on his cv in 3 seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

I know that questions have to be asked when a team gets relegated, and players are part of the blame, but i'm sure plenty of teams will be keeping a close eye on Adomah.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Russell over any other striker that we've been thingy with, he is a man that has shoes on his feet but dosent wear a hat if you get my drift. Very very shower capped player in my rainbow opinion
