I think ken Bates will look at the situation and think,3 million invested in this team and we could be looking at a prem league club,so why sell now for 50m when I could invest a little and have a monster on his hands to sell for double, cos let's face it gfh are only in it to make a quick buck, cos they not got the funds, leave it to ken and Neil to get us up then find that real buyer who has the cash.

Who's to say gfh dont have the money i bet they are 10 time richer than bates anyway and at least they WILL invest not like bates! he'll never invest 3 million you must be joking! this is bates we're talkin bout why we want rid in the 1st place dah!

Bates as had his chance and refuses to dig into his own money . leeds united have no transfer money available not even enough for 1 player on loan and to be honest i dont even think we have enough funds to call back our players from loan .your right 3 mil should be able to sort this squad out but bates wont be the one stumping the cash up
Agree0

All the people saying GFH don't have the funds are talking nonsence. They are based on a 6 month profit report which said they had made £5m in that period, that doesn't mean, as some have tried to suggest, that they only have £5m available. They are an investment bank with fingers in many, many pies and will have a large pot of funds to draw from. KB would not be talking to them if that was the case and said in his interview this weekend that the deal was 'a relatively small deal to them'

Leave it to ken? we've all lost faith in Ken
Agree0

Ken bates wont invest in the club the redevelopment of the stands have been funded from loans and player sales and i reckon the loans have come from bates which the football club is paying back
Agree0
Disagree0
You've got a point lad, I think bates wants to sell up, he won't invest any more into the squad, I appreciate what he's done for us though, if it weren't for him we wouldn't exist, Neil will get us up, the takeover will happen and the glory days will return MOT

If you could get Leeds up with a 3 Million budget , you should be the next England manager !!

If Ken chooses to cough up then fair play to him. I still think we need new owners, but Ken coughing up is undeniably progress.

" Ken coughing up is undeniably progress"
I think Moses parting the Red Sea was slightly more believeable than this ever happening.....

Bates will not invest in the club. If we go up with him as chairman it will be because Warnock has produced a miracle! Peter MOT

Bates? Invest?

If Ken Bates was gonna spend a few millions on players(LOL)he`d have done it when we came up from League 1,when we were a couple of decent players away from being a `premiership side`.he chose not to.he decided instead to sell ALL our talent and put it into bricks&mortar, and put the rest in his sky rocket.

The key words in the initial statement are
"and we could be looking at a prem league club", Ken doesn't deal in 'could happens' he only deals in dead cert's.

Number of people still talking about Bates as if he's some sort of charity that goes around saving football clubs. The fact is, he was perfectly willing to liquidate us and would have done if that had provided a better deal for him. In the end, the creditors agreed to an utterly derisory p/£ deal with Ken Bates, as it was either that or liquidation for Leeds.

3 clubs looking at sam byram, really gets on my nerves how we bring all these great youngsters through the ranks to give them to prem sides

Go back to your own site, he just signed a three year contract and is going nowhere
Agree0

Really hope he stays, great youngster and looks the only one in the team who is capable of taking somebody on. Anyway, if he was to leave for the premier league, he could fetch up to a couple of million.
MOT!

He's on a 3 or 4 year deal now....we can reject offers unless it's silly money eg £10-15 million...no need to worry
Agree0
Disagree0
He's on a long contract, even if he was to leave we wouldn't be 'giving' him to anyone
Agree0
Disagree0
Bates might attempt to sell him early jan which i hope bates has gone by then
Agree0

Time to stamp our authority over the young kids once and for all but for that we need to have authority. Comes in the form of PL status. For that we require the takeover so all things really start with that.

Ahh i didnt know he had signed a 3 year deal, thats a relief i just saw something about it on news noww this is the only site for me! MOT

Just signed a long term contract so all NW has to do is slap a ridiculous price tag on him and that should keep the canaries away from the door

He's going nowhere lads, prem clubs will leave him to develop at leeds and by the time they've realised hes good enough for the prem we will be there

I read in one of the sunday rags Everton showing an interest.....laughable as they dont have a pot to pee in!!KEA
Agree0

As long as Neil Warnock is manager, Sam Byram won't be going anywhere ... not to become a Canary nor a Toffee, unless one of them is prepared to part with serious money ... £10 / £12m. The only players likely to be leaving will be the ones he's placed on the transfer list and don't fit in with his plans.

We have a fabulous youth system -but will continue to lose the best early for as long as we are out of the Prem; simple as that. All the more reason for us to really go for it this year -we've a highly competent core of players, fantastic morale, the perfect manager for this level... Let's go for it! And if we succeed, we can enjoy Byram for the next 3/4 years min. Chapel A

3 premiership clubs watching our young academy product Sam Byram.
Liverpool, Everton & Tottenham scouts have all watched him since pre-season.

I for one am very happy that the Rhinos sing MOT - it shows what a great cross code spirit there is in Leeds - always has been back to the days when Billy & Jack regularly went to watch Leeds RL

A big thanks to Ken Bates to rendering our club unable to bid for high achieving second tier players.
The Leeds I grew up with would never have been satisfied with the utter mediocrity we are served up week in, week out.
Incredible that many of our fans seem to accepts this state of affairs.

Don't compare every team to the great revie team as they were one of best ever so will never be able to match that.

What an utter load of bo**ox!! this site has its fair share of dreamers who make utter rubbish up! but your dreaming if you think zaha would leave london for leeds and bypass all the big london clubs!! just gotta love it aint ya!! pmsl

Zaha is a prem standard player n we have 0% chance of getting him so m8 id advise you to get of fifa and enter the real world
Agree0

Also to the post that slates ken of for not bidding for big name players in this league, u are silly as even if leicester or forrest bid for someone like zaha he would never join them as he has proved hes prem class n why would anyone turn a prem team down for a championship team? nothin to do with bates atall, he can bid what he wants n still zaha n others would never join us just like he wont b joining any other championship team.
Agree0

Rubbish... the idea that he would sign for a Prem team and sit in the reserves or on someone else's bench for the next 5 years, just hoping he gets a shot at the first team someday... maybe... rather than sign for a team he might actually play for?
You can't just dismiss rumours like this simply because 'Prem teams are sniffing'. Prem teams are sniffing around Diouf again but he seems fairly happy where he is. Still, anything could happen.
Just because a Premiership team expresses an interest in someone doesn't automatically mean we can't compete. We have some of the best training facilities in the country and (lately) have actually been blooding our youngsters with some first-team action. About time, too, if you ask me.
Kids have let us down before but, Aarron Lennon chose to sign with Leeds despite interest from bigger clubs (yes, there are some)... maybe a poor example, seeing as his Adidas contract would have been pulled if he hadn't jumped ship to a Prem side and abandoned us for next-to-nowt...ok, ignore me.
