Hearing from a certain man in the radio business that McDermott is only going to be staying to (at longest) the end of the season. Two target managers have been contacted, which are Roberto Di Matteo and Gustavo Poyet.

Di Matteo is said to be quite unsure of the role and at the present time unconvinced. Poyet has not been directly contacted as there has been a fair bit of resistance from Sunderland officials.

That's the word, take it or leave it.

McD needs to go - I like him and being honest he's had a tough time over the last 12 months. But all these defeats recently and playing exttremely poor, He needs to go. Enough is enough. Put naylor and co in charge, with a different team. Some of these players should never wear the Leeds shirt again! They are a disgrace. We need 3 pts over the next 6 matches, possibly 2 to stay up. MOT

Agree5 Disagree1

We need a man in now to get points - to keep us safe . Our Gus is cut for this role - but can't see him in until May /June; Brian and his team(mates) are not bothered one bit despite the rhetoric - there is no Yorkshire Heart for the shirt - move em all on unless they prove otherwise and sell McCormack in May

Agree2 Disagree1

Cellino has said that he "is going to drive the bus", and is in charge. I suspect that he will turn up at Thorp Arch tomorrow and pay the player's the balance of their wages in chicken feed and tell Brian which player's are in the team for his first game at Elland Road as President of our club. We don't need any Italian football managers, we already have a GLADIATOR!

Agree2 Disagree0

Might as well bring Kevin Blackwell back got plenty experience in league one

Agree0 Disagree5

Just got back from tonights match, hope he goes tomorrow. Shocking tonight no idea, tactics none existing. Best if he walks before he's pushed, time to go Brian

Agree4 Disagree1

I will leave it if you don't mind

Agree1 Disagree0

I would love di Matteo but I'm sure he's contacted di canio. He would instill passion and if not get rid no problem. He would be great!

Agree1 Disagree5

So Poyet was contacted, but not contacted?

Di Canio would be awful. Hard headed managers fail. There is still a question mark over Di Matteo's head. Zola gets mentioned too, again no thanks. A good upcoming manager, preferably British, would be god.

Agree2 Disagree1

Deffo a no to Di Canio

Agree3 Disagree0

Di Matteo all the way he won the champions league with good money he would be brill

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont care who manager his as long as we get a new denfence and some GOOD wingers

Manchester City have released Reece Wabara, nothing solid but what are your thoughts?

Believable15 Unbelievable9

{Ed013's Note - He had a chance to go to Leeds, instead I am sure he went to Doncaster and didn't look great}

Well done McDermott you've led us to another heavy defeat, you should be proud. Tactically you get it spot on every game, LOL. You are a joke. Everyone in the Championship are laughing their cocks off at you.

This is not the kind of player MC would entertain at all! please let's aim higher, Markymafia

Agree1 Disagree1

Scott Wootton has got to be one of the worst signings ever with Cameron Stewart, Every signing McDermott has made have been poor, Kebe, Zalukias, Hunt, Murphy, Stewart, Wootton, Butland, Smith. That sums McDermott up, CRAP Manager. Clueless.

Agree3 Disagree0

There's is one on your list that does not belong there, that is Matt smith. To be fair he carn't score for toffee with his feet but with his head that another story.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2014 20:09:31
Smiths done ok might do better if he got some decent crosses .what exactly do people expect him to do when he's facing his own goal with the ball hoofed up by the keeper or back four and he has the opposition centre half on his back. He never gets any decent service or any protection from the referees

ONLY a rumour but a friend knows a first team player at ER.
He says MC trying to buy ground back but the price has nearly doubled?
I thought LUFC had a set price as a buy back option?
Maybe you could help us out ED?

AndyMOT

Believable6 Unbelievable19

{Ed013's Note - Their agreement date ran out for the agreed buy back of ER, but Leeds still have an option to buy it back for a bigger price. I honestly can't see that price having doubled though}

Cheers ED it might have doubled if it's PAPPA SMURF who owns the ground ;(

Rather Build another ground than give that man any more of our money ;)

Agree3 Disagree1

You are wrong Ed, Leeds have a 25yr lease within that time Leeds can buy the ground back anytime in that 25yrs for just over £15m.
TA lease and price have elapsed, I think you got mixed up. Trev

the price we can buy ER for goes up each yr by a % .

Got to report.
Please don't get excited about any purchase of ER as the owner is in Israel for the Passover holiday.
Nobody has even tried to contact him as yet.
He's away for a couple of weeks and isn't taking any calls from today.
Jeff

Believable1 Unbelievable37

Mr Bates is in Israel is he?!

Agree1 Disagree0

And why should we believe this?
You said that MC would not pass test and would not be in the position he quite obviously is in!

Agree2 Disagree0

And I guess that's why he was pictured at vicarage road talking to Brian McDermott

Agree0 Disagree0

If Jeff says we NOT buying ground this week as owner is in Israel I'm having a monkey on MC buying ground today lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Teak holding own eland road and rumoured to be own by a Manchester builder and ken bates

Just browsing tv and came across this nugget from LUFC accounts. "The highest paid director was paid a salary of £265, 449 and accrued a bonus of £440,000." I wonder what his bonus might have been had we actually achieved success over the last 12 months. Maybe he would consider waiving his bonus and taking Noel Hunt instead!?!

Believable13 Unbelievable6

08 Apr 2014 17:22:31
That was Shaun Harvey apparently.

Agree1 Disagree1

Why Noel hunt?
Do you know how much other players are earning?

Agree0 Disagree1

Where previously Bates took nothing. Credit where credits due

Agree0 Disagree0

Earning sweet FA but paid a lot

Fawksey

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, I would like to see Massimo start kicking into touch these wasters who have selfishly embelished their roles and fattened up at our expense. I will support Massimo and have the utmost respect for the guy as he clears out Elland Rd and takes full control and responsibility. His money, his head on the block and if he does half a decent job its going to be 50% better than what we have seen so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

It has been raised several times already, but people seem to ignore, that the accounts were for the period ending in March 2013. Therefore, GFH were only in 3 months. The Director paid was clearly Shaun Harvey and as for Bates, he did not take a salary LOL No he only took his expenses which was a massive contract to fly him back and forth from Monaco as well as lots of other costs he would have claimed i'd imagine.

Not saying GFH are any better, but let's be clear who was managing the business for the majority of that period and it was Bates. I imagine the bonus was paid to Harvey for a completing successful sale to GFH.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's one of the ways GFH have taken money out- unless it was part of the severance payment to KB- as it appears they haven't paid anything for the club, just gave KB the ticket money, hence no income for last 2 years. Plus they are a bank, so charged interest = the loss! paid to them. It says income was £28m, but lost £9m?. Simply playing with numbers- GFHmade £9m, LUFC list £9m

I believe rumours of Zola joining as manager are false. Heard that Zola and Cellino aren't on 'the best of terms'. Shame, Zola plays very attractive football. Wouldn't want us to become the new 'Watford' of last year, by signing Cagliari rejects on loan.

Believable11 Unbelievable13

We wouldn't loan them as Cellino owns us is selling Cagliari. He will want them on permanent deals.

Agree1 Disagree0

Watford had undinese on loan, not Cagliari

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't think we'll be signing anyone any time soon, with the FFP and huge losses we are lookingat an impending tranfer imbargo for the coming season.
Cellino's comments about promotion next year being unlikely make a little more sense now.

Agree2 Disagree0

That will include qpr arn't they 22million in the red

Agree2 Disagree0

That's no where near QPR debt, its closer to 80.

But LUFC are in debt to more than 30 million. That needs servicing, and soon.

Massimo is now in control of the club as of tonight. This direct from his lawyers in London, Mishcon de Reya

Believable30 Unbelievable8

I read in the guardian the FA have to approve the take over with a letter that they and MC both have to sign?

Agree1 Disagree4

Could some 1 tell my why Gfh still hold 25% in the club because if I remember at school is 25% of zero is zero input

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with the second poster. I am concerned that the FL will try to delay the takeover until the judge provides her written reasons for the verdict.

I am not convinced we are out of the woods yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

Could the answer be that GFH are not the holders of the 25% shareholding. (KB)?.

Last poster, you are right not to be convinced.

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Apr 2014 12:15:01
If Cellinos running the club we will spend money but if Ken Bates is owning the 25% which is just a conspiracy theory then we won't go into debt and we can't grumble about spending money and not going into debt

Agree1 Disagree0

Last poster and previous.

By my understanding;
GFH Bought us for around £50million

They have sold a majority share slightly over 75% of the club to Massimo for around £24 million plus the 7 he had already injected. This has been sold (again by what I've been informed) under the agreement that Cellino immediately sought to purchase ER & TA.

GFH are and investment group and have done us a favour by getting an owner I who really wanted the best for our club! The reason they have kept their share is because they think Cellino will get us promoted and the value of their share increase and return the rest of their investment. They've been running the club for a while and paid to outright buy it. For an investment they have made a substantial loss to date!
I mean they faffed about a bit in getting it across the line. But having ironed out the problems from previous regime we owe them a massive thank you.

Lets just hope that stands to be absolute fact!

So, MC is about to take over a club with "Debts" in last financial year of 24 million. Is he right in the head.

Agree1 Disagree0

MC is a business man who has made more money than we can collectively dream of. For years we've been saying how good an investment LUFC is for someone. As a business man he's obviously realised this and thinks 24 mil of debt is a drop in the ocean compared to what we'll be worth if we go up. Leeds going up won't be like Norwich or Palace or Hull. The club can be a giant with the right backer and I hope it's him

Agree3 Disagree0

SL.

Part of the sale also includes MC servicing the "Debt". Either MC is a "Hero" or totally deranged.

Agree1 Disagree0

Every club in the premiership or football league is a good investment IF the right man owns the club. Its all relative. Why do you say like "Palace or Norwich or Hull", they are there, LUFC are not. LUFC debt at 24 million is not a drop in the ocean. That debt, this year will cost MC 56 million. That's the debt, the money to buy LUFC and the 7million he has so far put in. Then, at seasons end, because the finances do not comply with FFP rules, expect a transfer embargo at the very least.

Agree1 Disagree2

Look at it this way. MC ( family ) have fortune of 1.3 billion euro, tad over billion pounds. NOW that's family ( not MC himself ). So he ain't in same league as Abramovich, Mansoor, or whole lot of others at Clubs. Crikey, there are others in Championship with equal wealth, or very close to it.
So I simply can't buy into this "Messiah" thing at all.
