Walsall are chasing Leeds full-back Ben Parker.
Leeds are ready to land Portsmouth pair David Norris and Luke Varney for £600,000.
both scources from todays people,
Also Neil Warnock has revealed he could have walked out on Leeds in June just four months after taking the job as boss. scource sunday mirror.
Maybe the takeover/investment made him change his mind or maybe he changed Bates's mind to sell up?

Leeds do not own Ben Parker anymore he's a free agent

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a Pompey fan, and I must say David Norris is a superstar, who is not afraid to shoot and is the perfect leader!
Whereas Luke Varney is going to be your #2 Billy Paynter because the start of the season he was decent then he turned awful, he doesn't run, can't shoot, nothing special.

At this rate you should change your name to Leedsmouth United!

Have you ever wondered that the players from Portsmouth weren't good enough for Championship, so I don't understand why Leeds are signing them as they look to reach play offs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Parker had gone to Sheffield? Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Parker was released but was allowed to stay training with Leeds to keep his fitness while looking for a new club. Hasn't signed for a new club as far as I can see.

Luke Varney fairly sure to be joining Leeds, however Norris has rejected a contract with Leeds and is going to sign for one of the other championship clubs in for him, strongly rumoured to be Sheff Wed.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's nice to hear what faith you have in your players at Pompey. Perhaps if you hadn't gone into Administration - AGAIN, your players would have put in more effort. It's amazing what not being paid can do for morale.

Also, if you'd not been docked points, you'd only have finished 6 points behind us, and Barnsley would have finally been relegated to league one.

I don't know what these players will be like for Leeds, but one thing's certain. Pompey's form and fall to league one was more to do with the owners than it was to do with the players. Something Leeds fans are all too familiar with!

Agree0 Disagree0

Walsall are chasing ben parker!
i'm 62 and i could still catch him!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I presume you mean 'ex-Leeds' player Ben Parker.

Simon Cox due on a season long loan from West Brom......However this deal will only go through if West Brom can conclude a deal to sign Obefemi Martins

Believable19 Unbelievable9

If that was correct cox would be a great addition scores for fun lets just hope they get martins then ( I know who I'd rather have of the two) cox would be quality !! MOT for life

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds odd as they play in different positions do they not?

Agree0 Disagree0

No there both forwards it's just trapattoni decides to play cox out wide when he plays for Ireland, think its just to give the team more threat coz he's an out n out forward and would score goals for fun in a good champ side (in my opinion)

Agree0 Disagree0

Different positions? thought they were both strikers, last time i checked they were anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not sure if they play different positions or not, however it may be if they can get martins then cod is a player they will let go with a view on finances etc- it may. E they have a youth striker ready to step up to the squad.
White teeth

Agree0 Disagree0

Cox would be a quality striker to have scores goals for fun, he made barn door billy look good at Swindon, maybe that's the sort of player warnock had in mind to replace mccormack when he eventually gets sold...if he gets sold
MOT ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Have I missed the last few yrs with u saying cox scores for fun?? Don't make me laugh he will get bout 5-8 goals if ur lucky n spend most of season starting on bench!

Agree0 Disagree0

In the middle of a takeover, with still a month to go until the season starts, and a manager who doesn't like loan players, why would we be thinking about bringing in a loan player?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he's gunna struggle to score goals for fun playing on the right side of midfield but what i actually meant was is that in the championship I'll think he'll be a 20+goal striker, if mccormack can do it im sure cox could do it
MOT Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Def have cox should have bought him couple years ago he will score for fun in championship def more than varney!
Him and beckford up front would be nice
Russjon

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you their Russjon
beckford and cox would be a decent pairing up top

Believable12 Unbelievable13

Do us a favour, tell us all again when you've sobered up. :@)
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

I think bates is just what Portsmouth need look at what the other owners have done for them and look at what he did for us ok he spent naff all but we are now a profitable club who obviously people want to invest in. They could and HAVE done alot worse. Varney should only be judge when in a White shirt players play worse with uncertainty so give him a chance if we do get him.

Chorley White

Agree0 Disagree0

Why feel sorry for them bates would get them back out of a a really bad situation and back into championship . bates level is league 1 for buying players and paying wages ,they will be making a profit it no time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope that when takeover is complete that Bates is given a standing ovation and thank you for saving our club. Right time to go but he deserves massive credit for what he has done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope NW sees something in him that others don't...As for Portsmouth/Bates, I hope he does go there, they've pretty much felt what we've been through themselves, and he'd get them back up and running properly, hopefully before we see them being wound up

Jody

Agree0 Disagree0

Love or hate him, if he buys them, he'll sort em out...

The latest name to be linked with a takeover at Leeds United is Bahraini Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa.

The Sheikh is a member of the Bahraini royal family and a lifelong Leeds United supporter of over 40 years, having been brought up in this country.

He was first linked with a takeover of the club in the winter of 2003 with the club in meltdown and sliding towards relegation to the championship. The clubs crown jewels were being sold at a knockdown price to try to clear the £100 million debt that had been amassed.

He was reported to be leading a consortium trying to buy the club and speaking at the time back in 2003, he said, 'I fell in love with the club when I was 11 years old when Leeds played Chelsea in the 1970 FA Cup final.

'It was fated that I should love the club. Whether that fate will determine that I can save them 30 years later, I don't know.

'Leeds mean everything to me, I was born to support them.

'Those who are closest to me, my friends and my family, know what Leeds United mean to me.'

Read this on another site this morning..still hope its correct though..happy days.M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe the quotes you have included date back to 2004 when he tried mounting a bid to buy Leeds. Having said that, I hope every last word is true :-) MOT
LS

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not true, he has already come out sai he is NOT a leeds fan and is NOT buying the club, like the rest of us, incuding LUST and lorimer, ou have no idea, if i were you i would chill, be patient and wait for the news to come out, if it ever does. I personally think what ever deal there was or might have been, has fallen on it's arse.

Paddy signs tomoz, takeover goes through on Thursday. We all know what thursday is and what that date is. This is just my feeling on why everything has dragged out so long for us. Lets hope for once, we're ready to mount a serious challenge on the championship.
WE REALLY CAN START TO DREAM!!
mot4life

Believable11 Unbelievable10

No take, over just rumours to sell season tickets, Ken Bates still in charge next season.Stumble on together.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep,thursday does seem probable. but if it isnt lets not get too down, good things are happening im sure but lets not get carried away, success may take time. mrc1919..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, i'm sorry I must be really thick. What is so special about the date on Thursday?
Hope you are right though.

ben - telford

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben - When we wen into administration there was a clause meaning that if sold, 5% of the money would go to the creditors. If this is true then the 5 year clause runs out on Thursday. For the sake of waiting a few days they wouldn't have to pay the creditors

Agree0 Disagree0

If he loves them so much where was he when we were going under and getting relegated???

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing is special about Thursday. It's the 12th and the poster thinks that we are no longer liable to repay our debts if we get in to the Premier League. As I and other posters have said many times on this site the liability to repay debts does not end until the 2017 season. I don't know this because I am in the know but because it's in the accounts and these are a freely available public document.
Whether we need to repay the b debts or not is irrelevant as the sums involved are small compared to the amounts we will receive from the PL TV cash etc if we go up.
In a nutshell the poster is guessing.

Agree0 Disagree0

He did try to buy the club but did'nt win the bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

"He did try to buy the club but did'nt win the bid."

So this mega millionaire who loved Leeds so much lost out to skinflint Bates who stated he wanted to destroy Leeds?

Didn't try too hard did he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't this message posted on Monday last week too?! I really hope it's true, but as nobody knows, I would suggest that this probably isn't true.

Unless it is.

Which will be an interesting coincidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Other people offered more money but Bates manipulated it so that he was the successful bidder but he did change the five year clause to a ten year one as an added incentive so no reason really why Thursday should be the date to get excited about!

I'd really really laugh my tail off if he ended up signing for Sheffield, after thinking this is the most obvious transfer I think we have ever had, would be a right kick in the teeth

I have followed thesevcommentsbfor 2 weeks. Seems to me Leeds are running out of time
