Hearing from a good pal LUFC have opened discussions with Davide Astori and Cellino saying this deal may still happen! That would be another great signing lots of interest in him from Juventus Galatasary plus a host of others incl a couple of prem clubs. 8 - 10 mil rated Italian National squad player - centre back very quick and can score goals. Hope this was written into the sale of Cagliari ~MOT

Believable19 Unbelievable50

As much as I want this to be true, I just can't see us either paying that kind of money for 1 player or him being interested when the likes of top premiership teams, juve etc are sniffing. Truly hope I'm wrong as he'd be an incredible signing and sign of intent

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes I said same and I don't think we are offering anywhere near that valuation. However he knows MC and of course we have Nicola Salerno confirmed as sporting director I imagine they would be fairly persuasive when it comes to negotiations. I hope that this was in part conditional to the sale of Cagliari. At least if it is true we are in talks which is something - fingers crossed #MOT

Man city was the prem club, but with their money every player gets linked. the main rivals are Lazio, and inter are favourites. MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

With Rossini apparently nearly done and heavily linked to Giuseppe Bellusci, who sounds like a decent player. I can't see Astori coming especially with so much interest and price. Just hoping all this imports have that little extra quality we have been lacking in recent years.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with all the previous posters I am hoping we don't see any split in the dressing room either as Newcastle and many others have suffered when you get a big influx of foreign players. I aren't sure about the Hocks credentials for handling this type of squad either. But at least we are signing young players with some credibility in their own leagues. Time will tell but we surely have moved forward from the last 2 regimes we endured. C'mon Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see M C putting up with any nonsense from any player regardless of nationality and as he seems very much to running the show I hope these signings come good.
Commitment pace and passion is my hope .

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see this signing coming off. Why would Astori go to a champ club on ~£10k a week when he could go to a prem club and be on £40k+.

Agreement reached, Rossini moves to Leeds outright. will sign the contract tomorrow.

Daniele Cacia is going to say yes to Leeds United

Reported in Italian press

Believable28 Unbelievable13

Yes seen that info, if true looks that we could be signing some young players hopefully who will shine with the encouragement of the fans.
Funny how so many players seem to shine at leeds move and then fall on there faces (Ross).

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 17:45:06
To be honest Ross hasn't fallen on his face, just secured a move to a team that look in good stead to go back up. We are a bit all over the place but as a club we've got loads of potential to get back up because we have the support

Leeds among one of many championship clubs linked with erik matoukou after he has become a free agent after leaving Ukrainian side Dnipro.

Believable9 Unbelievable21

It says leeds are "linked with" I don't understand where people are getting that it's unbelievable from haha it's like saying a newspaper didn't say something when it's in black & white unless its my logic working wrong.

According to TV app we are close to signing Niall McGinn from Aberdeen for 1.2 million

Believable17 Unbelievable32

Good winger/striker what tv app is this on wish he would look at may/hasslebank too

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - I'd make a guess at a well known tv sports one that we dont advertise}

M c quoted now we need a striker! I suggested Lucus Jukawitz .
Derby were going to sign him but pulled out when the price went up tp 1 and a half mil .

Agree1 Disagree2

I will be impressed if and when he buys back Elland Road

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed13 welcome back bud hope all ok?another holiday or work?
Dogwise. Too much for him really not tried in championship imao! Is Patrick bam ford still on loan to derby or has he signed up for them I'd take him for £500k ish see silly money still going on muddles borough offering £1.5 million for Adam Clayton (titters to oneself) did we have a sell on clause . Prob not as sticky fingered captain Birdseye swallowed what ever came into coffers!

{Ed013's Note - Work again mate, all is well thanks, how are you?

As far as I know Bamford has gone back to Chelsea. Hopefully if Clayton leaves there is a decent sell on clause, I think Cardiff get 15% of McCormack!}

Ed 13
SOZ didn't reply yesterday bud.thought I sent it but txt sat waiting to go . I'm so blonde! Lol all good thanks bud hope work ok for you too! Sounds like you've kept in the know still. So we may get something if Clayton moves on that's more money for transfer kitty the way MC thinks, hopefully! have you heard anything regarding English players joining ie the lad from Rotherham k agard as he's turned down contract?
Cheers bud

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - There was interest a while back, but there are a few others in for him as well, I can't see him staying at Rotherham. Speaking of Clayton reminds me of some other player that was linked, Max Clayton. A good prospect, but unsure if Cellino will go for him as he was a player McDermott liked}

Silverstri and Bianchi just confirmed by MC, also confident of signing Swiss CB Rossini

Silvestri to be announced later today.

Believable33 Unbelievable6

Anyone know much about him? Watched a few clips on YouTube and he looks a strong agile keeper but you can make anyone look good on there. Just wondering what people think about him as our no. 1? Also with what seems like a lot of Italians coming in how much of an issue do you think the language barrier might be?

Agree0 Disagree0

Proof will be in the pudding just scene that kieron westwood has sighned for Wednesday now he did look quality.

Agree1 Disagree0

Only seen vids too but looks like a decent shot stopper. My only concern is that he looks nervous off his line, might not be the best at controlling his area.

Fee of £11m agreed with Fulham for McCormack. You have to hand it to the new owner on the deal, £11m is beyond all expectations now hopefully we can rebuild! On ssn. Mot

Believable72 Unbelievable8

I think that's good business and like Beckford becchio and the rest it's about money hope he has a rubbishter at Fulham

Agree1 Disagree0

I would have been happy with around 5-6 million never mind 11 mill. He's had one good season and every team thinks he will do what he did last season, doubt it. Get in Cellino you beauty! MOT

Agree4 Disagree1

Cant believe anyone would pay that for him . Boro's bid last year about the right price haha . MOT

Agree1 Disagree1

28yr old the cottagers have paid DOUBLE what he is worth ;)

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes it's a good deal knowing full well Bates would have took £2m, risky business for any championship club paying that kind of money on one player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never worth 11 Mill - all the "we don't need to sell him" stories etc pushed the price right up - well done MC, can't see any previous owners landing a deal like this!

Onwards and upwards - time to start signing some talent - fun season to come - I can't wait MOT

Agree2 Disagree1

I know I said I would rather have RMC than not but 11 million for this level great business hope he puts it all back in the team

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2014 09:53:07
Twitter saying that the £11m is a figure fabricated by Leeds to keep fans happy, true value nearer to £6m. Either way, good business, unlikely he'll get another 20+ goals in a season but he was a true hero for Leeds last season. Time now to invest in the first team and also the academy

Football has gone mad, surely J Rhodes would of been cheaper and he has done it every season not 1 in 3, great business for LEEDS thou nobody can disagree with that, wonder how much up front and add ons like if they get promoted etc, bet Cardiff have a sell on clause? Wonder if we had one for snodgrass going to dull? Need to re invest in 5 or 6 quality players (wingers) would be nice. MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

I smell a rat . He has gone for an undisclosed figure.

Agree1 Disagree0

Does anyone know if the 15% sell (£1.65 million) on clause that Cardiff have is still valid or did it expire when RMC signed new contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Noswood. Good point. Eds. Does the sell on clause become null and void when he signed a new contract?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - a sell on clause is between the two clubs nothing to do with a players contract.}

Leon
The only rat you can smell has just signed for Fullham.
(He said he would ONLY move to a premiership side!)
Although I like ross and wish him the best of luck he's 28 and handed in a transfer request, in my opinion if the true figure is nearer £6 mill then its still good buisness as he's ONLY had one good season.

Season 1 played 20 goals 2
Season 2 played 48 gaols 19
Season 3 played 39 goals 8
Last season played 47 goals 29.

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't believe all you read. THE DEAL may be worth 11 million, but the TRANSFER fee is only a part of the deal. RMcC wages are part, as is any signing on fee. If his wages are say 25K a week, that's 3.9 million. Signing on is usually 10% so another half million. Oh and the sell on will still apply.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2014 11:36:49
I said right at the start Cellino is amazing at getting crazy prices for players i'm guessing all the deals leeds had in place were just waiting for this deal to offset the turnover . last season Ross was the championships Suarez bar the odd nibble on an italian but on a whole I doubt magarth's tactics will work for him .

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry, didn't realise was 4 year deal. Wages at above rates will be 5.2 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic business - now let's see some signings

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jul 2014 12:23:00
Just hope the money is put to good use, best of luck to him. Although I would chuckle if he has a poor season n we finish above them!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't pretend to know a lot about these things but surely a player's signing on fee and wages do not make up any part of the transfer fee- these are between the new club and player and nothing to do with the old club. If Ross handed in transfer doesn't that waive any right to a percentage of fee as well?

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jul 2014 12:49:59
Why is there still nothing on OS, oh yeah sorry we sacked em all as well lol

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2014 13:16:20
Anything over 5 mil is good. As long as we replace him. That lad pavoletti looks a decent player and younger too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jumpleeds.

I said DEAL, not fee. If the thing is announced as an 11 million deal By Buying club, then all sorts of bits and pieces make it up to 11 million. If its announced as a 11 million transfer by LUFC, then that's what LUFC get. In this case its "Undisclosed" which means in all probability a "Deal". I really don't know why some goo for undisclosed, as annual accounts show transfer dealings anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reckon our fee will be about 8m (just a guess going on football manager games on which I am an expert) good luck to ross he had to go as club is becoming a joke. I fear for us next year and see us going down. Although I do trust MC which I guess is a contradiction? need to get some players in and hope that hockaday is a genius signing and not the joke that he seems and that Taylor is back up and players like him get no where near our main team

Agree1 Disagree0

The transfer amount won't be taking into account Ross' wages otherwise we would have accepted less than we already turned down. The only things it would have included are a loyalty bonus (that will have become void when he handed in a request to leave) and a percentage of the sell on fee (also void I believe). My guess would be that the deal is 10m for us and 1m for Ross for a 10% sell on clause he would have had.
As for what we get I would expect 6-7m up front (what they offered before) with the other 3m reliant on performance bonuses such as games played, goals scored and promotion, etc.
Sad to see the lad go, even when he didn't score he looked a class above the rest of the team, its a crazy fee though for a non top tier player and could shunt us well up the table if reinvested wisely in the playing squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

All media outlets, including ssn and NewsNow, quoting 'fee' (not deal), just saying like.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gummie.

Do you honestly believe that Fulham have more or less doubled their original bid to secure his services.

Agree1 Disagree0

So, why "Undisclosed".

Agree0 Disagree0

WRover - Ross handed in a transfer request, which if I'm not mistaken means that Ross gets nothing from the deal. Can you confirm this, ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - It usually means he waives the right to a loyalty bonus - but that could quite easily be negotiated that what he loses his new employers would pay (that is pure speculation by me) }

I never suggested he would get anything. At least not from LUFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole fee is payable to Leeds over 4 years - the length of the contract signed.

This is entirely normal.

There is a small figure paid immediately, some add-on clauses and the majority of the fee paid over 4 years.
