All the talk of the youngsters coming through is great and I see the point of getting them playing time last few games. But seriously though if we get two of them good enough for first team we'll be doing well.

I know what your saying Corky, it's a gamble but along with Pearce, O'Connor, BPF I can see at least Shaugnessy and Edmundson playing regularily so it's not such a great stretch of the imagination to see at least two other new young guns featuring most weeks.

Cork Disagree. 2 is below average. 3 average. 4 good. 5 excellent. We already have 5 in the first team already. BPF, Paudie, RV, Pearce and Edmondson. We need more but we already doing well on that front. Radz strategy is about youth coming through. There's still Hosannah, Rey, Shackleton, Clarke, Machuca, Sarkic, Dalby, Kun T and Wilks to come through. We could have a team and squad in about 15 months.

3 have already shown they're upto the task. I would expect another 3 from George's list to come good in the next 12 months too. That's a pretty good return imo.

So are we saying Orta's doing a good job? Only asking.

Leo As purely a scout unearthing young talent from abroad, yes. I've said this for a couple months now. However, he should not be allowed anywhere near first team recruitment directly. Examples are Wiedwald and Grot. This means his job title requires immediate demotion. Director of football? Having a laugh.

Who should be in charge of first team recruitment then George

George I mean good enough for a promotion team. How many of the young lads will play more than 50 league games? O’Leary had a great class of youngsters but getting 5 through at once is not easy.

Cork You have to play them to find out. We should no longer be pre-occupied with promotion. Our next task is to have a competitive first team and squad. Rest should follow. If worse thing that happens is we get up to 8th position next May but with extra youngsters coming through so be it. I'm hearing Jack Clarke is going to be a player.

Aus Sadly, Heck. He's the manager. All he really has to do is acquire solid Championship players who combine talent with the necessary physicality. None of this watery airy fairy rubbish like Wiedwald and Grot.

We could do a lot worse than raid the Wendies for a couple players. They are in trouble financially and with FFP rules.

Who would you have from them george

Grot will come good I believe

Martyn Forestieri Hutchinson Westwood and Winnall once he returns from Derby. Forestieri would be a luxury not really needed because of Saiz and Hernandez but the rest would do nicely.

They bought a half decent central defender from somewhere Martyn! ? I forget where! ? 😏😱😢

They did Bright but he was treated fairly poor at Leeds. And mainly by tt the supporters.

Yes I would jump at the chance of signing Bartley, or Huth, or similar but let's not write off the the two who have filled in this year. I have to say that whenever called upon Shaugnessy, then O'Connor, have answered the call admirably. If they are mentored by some of the more senior players then the answer to our problems may already be on the payroll. This is without even looking at Struijk, Halme and Diaz. Again, wouldn't complain about the inclusion of an old head, man mountain, CB but I don't think we are in such a deep hole as some would think.

Ins: BPF, Miazek, lnergan, hadbad spell and he was pretty good when he first came into the team) Ayling, Hosannah, Jansson, Oconnor, Struijk, Diaz, Rey, Pearce, Berardi, Denton, Forshaw, Vieira, phillips, shaugnessy, ideguchi, klich, dallas, Hernandez, alioski, roofe struijk, diaz, Clarke, machuca, Edmondson, dalby, gomes, nicell, shackelton, Roberts.

Outs: Felix, cooper, okane, cibicki, sacko, lasogga, ekuban, saiz (be good to get 8-10m from wolves for him) anita, buoy, de bock, ty much everyone who I've slated this year bar roofe. I see roofe staying as hecky likes him and he is the only front line player we have on the books who you could expect to score.

Transfer ins: New GK, speroni perhaps on a free, brad jones or danny ward from Liverpool would also be good imo. New CB, liam moore would be ideal, expensive but a good option, also think liam Lindsay would do well, that bednarek at Southampton also looks good, and at 22 a loan might do him some good. I have a feeling barts could be swayed.

If he was to sign a 2/3 year deal with the club after work from ailing this summer, I think that sends a message out from radz. New LB, all the while I think Pearce is able, he gets injured and we are very light in LB, de bock can go for me. Dentons there but again you need experience, Fabio seems short of games at boro, might be worth a couple million quid?

I actually think were ok for central midfield, klich saying he has unfinished business at leeds is positive for me, him and Forshaw could teach Vieira a lot and I like phillips too. you need 2 wingers at least in my opinion, its great playing dallas and Hernandez there but Hernandez won't see out the end of his contract if you carry on playing him there, he needs to be in that number 10 for me.

leko at west brom looks interesting, brownhill also a good option as Bristol have faded towards the end of the year. oztumer and dack would also be good to get in if possible from league 1, and josh morris from scunny. I have no idea where you start with a striker, don't think mbakogu is the answer, and I don't think you should overload on new strikers but we need someone proven in this league. Hernandez at hull out of contract this year, would be an icredible signing, they love him at hull (I'm from hull unfortunately).

overall you're looking at 15m spending, and for getting rid of that lot (if you can get rid of it all) you're probably talking 15 million back including saiz. then it sup to radz how much further you want to go to ensure play offs. I think itll be another busy summer though.

I can see where you're coming from on all points there Samo; an interesting post, and believe you're right that it will be a hectic summer of ins and outs, both sales, and purchases, as well as loans in both directions.

A hectic summer of outs if Orta can work some magic. As for ins, not too sure. With a limited budget, going for quality and the threatened emergence of 2 or 3 young guns I can't see a large influx but 3 or 4 marquee signings will keep me more than happy. Either way/ some way I can see a very different squad starting next season, than finished this.

It depends on what this "limited" budget is . M and M from posh, Barts, should be around £15M or so . some of the young guns stepping up now n again, an experienced keeper on a free and I reckon that'll just about do it, of course Eleven Sports might decide to invest some extra cash as well ;)

Radrizziani! I hold you responsible! Has anyone dug a bit deeper in all these rumors sites! It should be made known that the only source for Orta's alleged candidacy for the Deportivo job was his former employer CeroOnda. Heck it out for yourselves! Convenient being that he was being considered to be let go. No one at Deportivo can verify if the job offer was ever offered to Orta informally or otherwise. Fake News probably propaganda from Orta to keep his job. Is''t there a serious sports journalist out there who could uncover him for the fraud that he is! We need a a stronger President!
