This is getting silly, not sure if it the pre season fitness training or just very unlucky. Injuries now going to hurt us, catch 22 though as think that training has got this amazing season out of them.

Orta/ Rads/ MB have 3 weeks to go, see what happens.
Squad is too thin, these players if fit or here would be first teamers and unfortunately hard to get out of this league.
Saiz, Izzy, Bamford, Pablo, Phillips, coops and Douglas all missing.

Shadow Saiz no longer missing. He simply doesn't play for us anymore. If you believe he's still technically missing then so is Mark Viduka and Eddie Gray.

Nothing to do with training, just one of them (Leeds) things.

Reportedly we have turned down the opportunity to loan Vorm from Spurs to the end of the season. Would have been a great addition imo so wages must have been the stumbling block.

Wasn’t he supposed to be in 75k a week!

That's high for a keeper.

Now I’ve read it’s only 25 k a week! He must be struggling living in London!

He plays in that London though Martyn, he'll need that much to buy a 2-up 2-down terrace :)

He would be good for us. Hopefully they have turned him down because they have someone better in the pipeline.

Paudie O'Connor has been loaned to Bradford, Nessy has gone to Hearts and Coyle's loan to Fleetwood has been extended. 3 defenders down for the rest of the season at least.

If Bielsa wanted to use them this year, they wouldn’t be heading out again on loan!

Alftupper

We didn't have either Coyle or O'connor in the squad for the first 5 months anyway so I don't think they will be missed. And Shaughnessy hasn't been in many matchday squads this season
No way Coyle is in front of Ayling, Beeadi, Dallas or Shackleton for the right fullback spot, and I would rather see Hossanah and Gotts given a chance if we need to
And neither OConnor or Shaughnessy are in front of Janssen, Cooper, Halme, Beradi, Ayling (he played in a back 3 at Bristol City) or Phillips (he walks on water) for a centre back spot

Better to get them game time and check their progress at presesason.

Phil Hay is of the opinion this signals the end of Coyle's career with with LUFC, particularly as Shackleton is now ahead of him in the RB packing order.

I usually take Mr Hay's views with a large pinch of salt :)

Personally I am hoping that Shackleton has shown that he can take up the "Baker sized hole" in the squad. Don't see a need to go out looking for his replacement when we are already paying the wages of someone similar

Just saw that Yosuke Ideguchi may have to have cruciate surgery. Poor bugger
I would love him to do a Kilch, and be a revelation next season in our shirt. Seeing as we are ALWAYS on Sky TV we might as well get them transmitting it to Japan and giving us an even bigger fanbase. or maybe Rad's ElevenSport has the rights to Japan?

The whole Ideguchi saga has been completely bizarre from start to finish. Complete waste of resources and a reminder that while Orta is getting credit for one or two signings he has also brought some real rubbish onboard.

Newcastle's Karl Darlow LUFC first choice for a back up keeper. We are aiming for a loan, however, wheras Newcastle are keener on a £4m permanent deal.

Thoughts?

Game of wait and see. Also possibly tied up with the politics at Newcastle. Benitez wants some money to spend, probably less bothered about lightening the wage bill for a few months whilst losing a player! It’ll go to the wire if they have a chance of selling him to anyone else.

Never seen anything of him, is he worth 4 million?

Don't know much about him other than he was a regular and played well during Newcastle's promotion season and previously a regular for Notts Forest. i'm assuming tat Bielsa requires a keeper with decent distribution skills first and foremost so that will reduce the number of keepers that we can go for.

Seems like we transferring more players out and not many in comings. Starting to get a little nervous and think it will be a huge mistake not to improve team with 2-3 additions. The rewards are vast if promoted and this is our chance with a great manager and still top. Didn't they get around 22 mil for wood/ vieira and only brought in Bamford and Doug for 10? Didn't we also get 10 mil from USA backers?
I would be very happy with Frazier Forster, need an experienced keeper and he would give defense confidence.

Should also try get floriente from spurs, I feel we need a striker as Bamford seems injury prone and roofe needs competition.
Then either or both of pacey winger (Maddison) and that saiz type of linking player to pull the strings, jonjo shelvy is the type I mean, sees those little passes that hurt teams.

MB says he only wants players to improve team, think these would and be nailed on for premiership footy. Sorry but baker, Harrison, BPF and alioski not good enough. Spend 20 mil now and reap the rewards, if not I can see us getting caught and in playoffs which is tough.
If we don't invest and don't get promoted, can see next season without Biesla, Pontus, roofe, Klich and Clarke.

I agree with Martyn. I think there must a project of balancing the books going on

I would rather spend large on the wages of one very good loan player who will get in to the 1st 11, than on the wages of 3 or 4 players who are only looking at making the U23 matchday squad

If Baker is going, as is rumoured in the papers, and Saiz's wages are off the books, then hopefully we can tempt some decent talent to buy in to Bieslas project, even if it's just for 5 months.
