17 May 2019 20:19:21
Or needing transport to Middlesbrough lol.

18 May 2019 03:02:32
It's only good news if it don't need an MOT!

18 May 2019 09:26:31
Rather have patheticbottom would you george.

18 May 2019 10:02:52
At least we can assume he’s going to be managing in the U. K. then! He’s about to go home to Argentina, perhaps he’s taking it back with him!

18 May 2019 15:59:14

He just might be taking a very long drive back home.

Down to Dover through the tunnel across Europe to Siberia hop across to Alaska then just drive south. Easy.

Wouldn't be surprised if he tried it though. 😉

Think the most dangerous part of the journey would be going through the Midlands. 🤣😁🤣.

19 May 2019 14:38:00
Martyn Not at all. I've already posted I want MB to stay.

20 May 2019 17:02:28
Was it a Rolls Canhardly.

17 May 2019 00:12:55
Seeing Ponus sitting against the East Stand advertising boards was very sad but, and I hope that I am wrong, I have to say that the message appeared to be "come and get me" to any decent Premier club who might be looking for a CB.

We need him and the majority of the squad for next season.

You got to feel the fear factor now because radz is definitely goi g to get offers for PJ KP KR JC JS,
And we all know he is going to cash in on some if not all of the above .
It should be a case of fans holding season ticket money until he actually spends some proper money .
Seriously the amount of fans with their heads up their rock n rolls about radz us laughable.
He refused to strengthen in the previous 2 windows and the Danny James episode should blow all doubt about his character out of the water .

He's another frugal shrewd biz man who does not want to invest in team, only wants the sales department and turnstiles ticking over, throw a few pound at bang average muck from other leagues .

17 May 2019 22:19:49
I have a good feeling he will sell to someone with money.

17 May 2019 22:52:44
Some may argue against me but if we have to raise some money for other signings/ stay within FFP. Provided we can get 10-15m for Roofe (in mind he only has a yr left) in terms of those listed above he is the most expendable. He's had a good not great season, spent about 30% injured too. I think he's at the pinnacle of what he can offer, we'd be lucky to get a repeat next season. Sell Roofe unfortunately we have to keep Bamford as he has no sell value right now.

Sign a new forward (Haland i'd love as i've said already but not likely, but the kind of ambition we need to have nonetheless) . We have three young strikers who are certainly worth a look too in pre-season (Edmondson, Temenzhkhov, and Wilks) .

Goal scorers can flatter to deceive. I don't think Roofe has, he's done as well as he can but his value is a bit inflated and he may not sign a new deal either sell when we can get something for him.

Ultimately we need to keep Jansson, Phillips. Clarke and Shackleton i think will be with us whatever unless truly stupid money. Jansson's contract situation in particular also leaves us in a strong position financially.

A new winger, centre back (ideally a partner not replacement for Jansson) striker and Central attacking mid (may not need if Bogusz shows he can do it) . Bailey as No.1 next yr.

18 May 2019 08:04:47
Chris CC, all businessmen will want to come to the club and make money and the money comes from being successful and having a team doing well that people want to watch. Most successful year since we returned to the championship. It’s a start not a finish. I think we could be in a lot worse hands than Radz and we have been.

19 May 2019 16:51:26
I definitely hear what you say @spanish Leeds but it's so infuriating now that a lot of us knew in July what needed doing and knew what the outcome of refusing to open the wallet would be .
So to hear him now say the usual muck, thinking that as fans we can't see through his shite talk is very condescending to fans.
Surrounding himself with yes men who surely know difference between bang average+ quality.

23 May 2019 19:33:22
Chris great post.

16 May 2019 11:06:26
Bielsa is not infallible. He has transformed a very average group of players into a team that can play good football. However results since January are very average. If the season had started then we would only just managed to be in the top half of the table. He perseveres with out of form players for too long. Training methods may need examining. We have far too many injuries for it not to be a factor. His previous record shows the' drop off' factor.

Yes he has done a lot of good but whose to say that we won't be in the same position this time next year? At least we didn't go for Pulis. If we had, or someone like him not only wouldn't we have not been promoted we would have had to watch rubbish football. At least we've seen some great games. On the bright side we will probably win more games than we lose next season and not be smashed every week.

Very fair post Hess,

16 May 2019 00:44:43
great atmosphere tonight, coasting at one nil and then stupid mistakes.

I for one believes that this has been the best season for years for excitement and quality football.

thank you Leeds for bringing such a genius of a manager to the club, who coached a quality team, bringing the best out of many players and provided so much entertainment for us long suffering supporters.

Looking forward already to next season.

Good post, the manager needs to decide if he wants to be here next year, if he can try to do it all again and what he will need to do it. Then the club needs to decide if it can give him what he needs. Some big decisions that shouldn’t be rushed but that also need to be made quickly in order to move on.

11 May 2019 22:54:24
Roofe is not the best striker in the world but he gives far more to the team than Bamford - but only when he is playing 'up top'. If Bamford can't play number ten or something off the front man he shouldn't get another game unless Roofe is injured.

Agree5 Disagree0

12 May 2019 13:29:59
Yep agree, Roofe should start before Bamford. Bamford s goals have been welcome, but for me he goes down too easy, gives stupid free kicks away which breaks up our play and momentum and gets caught offside too often.
I’m hoping Bamford will come right next season and we benefit more from his eye for goal which he has shown at other clubs. It’s possible he is still adjusting to MB style of play and in fairness I think his injuries haven’t helped his overall fitness levels.

Chris Wood had a poor first season for us but after that he really got into his stride and was leagues top scorer before going to Burnley. Pleased to see it’s working alright for him there.

I have been a massive critic of Cooper over the past couple of seasons, mainly for his Rugby style approach to defending. I have to applaud him this season under MB he has been a defensive rock.

15 May 2019 21:48:55
Bamford not wanted by Derby not wanted by boro and we pay 10 million for him.

17 May 2019 11:27:39
The only place I want to see Bamford play next season is anywhere except for Leeds.

11 May 2019 22:46:49
I see FIFA has banned Mino Raiola for three months. Pity, might delay our signing of Pogba - but, on a more serious note, I guess it might delay our off-loading of Ouasim Bouy.

Time to tinker slightly with team, I would have Pablo on bench and try to rest him, play some part to keep sharp but maybe 20 mins. Don't think MB will but would like to see Izzy or bouguz in his place.
Would also drop Harrison and play either Clarke or Shackleton.
Be happy with draw against villa and then beat Ipswich, still need a point or 2 for 3rd.
Scary because other playoff teams in form but if we play at our top level can beat any of these, but can we do that over 3 games?

Roofe, Alioski, Douglas all out - Leif Davis confirmed he's had surgery and is done for the year on Instagram too, while Halme, Termunzhukov + Nicell are seemingly injured too (didn't feature in last 23s game, in Halme's case a while) .

With that in mind, I think Bielsa will pick:

Casilla; Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Dallas; Forshaw, Klich; Hernandez, Roberts, Harruison; Bamford.
Res: BPF, Phillips, Berardi, Shackleton, Clarke, Gotts, Stevens.

Others who could feature Brown, Edmondson, Diaz, Bogusz, Struijk, Odour, Hosannah.

I would personally go full strength for this game and if we're going to rest anybody do it against Ipswich, however if we do need to rest somebody then Pablo, Ayling and Pontus the obvious ones.

Love to see Shack get a start on the right wing. MOT ALAW.

30 Apr 2019 14:20:42
I dread the "same team again" statement but I think he is not a man for change. Personally I would like to see Odour for Harrison and, if necessary, Edmundson up front.

30 Apr 2019 20:21:49
We need to secure 3rd. No time for tinkering right now.

01 May 2019 11:12:40
Apparently efl brought a new rule in that teams have to play there first strong team. Was due to the dog botherers making 10 changes on the last game and affecting the relegation places. Not that it affects owt this year as the relegation places are already confirmed.

03 May 2019 20:49:00
Give the under 23’s a run out again Ipswich.

23 Apr 2019 08:05:23
IMO there are 3 people to blame for us not being in the top 2 at this stage. (Samu Saiz) , (whoever allowed him to leave) and (whoever cocked up the Daniel James transfer) .
I believe a fit, on form, committed Saiz would have gained us the few extra points needed. Someone should have told him to man up, remind his wife/ girlfriend he was a professional footballer when she met him and this is how it is.
Failing this I believe the signing of James would have gained us the extra points and impetus needed. 😠😠😠.

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Apr 2019 09:56:45
Not sure on the Samu comment Dan but totally with you on the James situation.

23 Apr 2019 10:33:52
How often was Saiz fit and on form though? we should have binned him when he spat at the Newport lad. As for James, seems to me that it was Swansea's fault, I don't claim to know the ins and outs of it but if the lad was at ER and ready to sign but Swansea changed their mind what can you do?

23 Apr 2019 10:51:57
Saiz didn’t fit! He was lucky to be around after the spitting incident and never repaid us for sticking by him. Look at what has happened to him at Getafe, hardly taken the opportunity he had so desperately wanted has he! On his day, talented player but too few days and I suspect always on his terms. When you compare Hernadez, the man with Saiz, you see the difference!

James ultimately didn’t come because the Swansea Chairman ignored his owners instructions and then resigned before he was sacked. Not sure what we could have done to revive it as he wasn’t taking calls and would probably still have ignored instructions! I think on deadline day everybody closely involved bar the Swansea chairman thought it was all sorted!

23 Apr 2019 12:45:35
Danum Agree totally but the person solely responsible for both failures is Radz. Regarding Saiz, very difficult to resolve, a bit like Brexit but I would've only permitted him to go at the end of the season. As for James, Radz knew all along the proposed transfer was dubious because of the Chairman at the time. Had Radz offered the money up front, the Chairman would've relented. I think you'll find what actually cost us this season ultimately is Radz's money problems (this caused the poor structure of the failed James acquisition) from his tv rights debacle. Radz naive. If we don't get promoted via the playoffs, wouldn't surprise me to see Radz' true colours. Him selling up and Bub leaving. We've paid the consequences this season for Radz' mistakes when it all should've been so different.

23 Apr 2019 12:55:32
Spaniard Saiz did fit albeit only just. What he did at Newport wrong but he became a highly effective ball carrier which aided our overall play. He did need resting more frequently, as did other players but letting him leave was dumb and has cost us an automatic promotion and a diminution in his transfer value. As for James, you are right but miss the point. Radz knew this dynamic but failed to react and take decisive action. His tv rights debacle meant he couldn't restructure the deal to Jenkins liking so Jenkins put his foot down. If we fail in the playoffs (likely) I won't be surprised to see Radz sell.

23 Apr 2019 13:27:07
Guess we will never know. Not sure I follow your logic with James, Radz and everyone else thought the deal was done, why need to renegotiate anything. By the time it became apparent, too late. In my opinion Saiz is only good if he wants to play and even then when he has been given the opportunity he wanted in Spain, he hasn’t delivered. But it’s all in the past, we could have had both of them and still ended up where we are, who knows.

I think you might be more right about Bielsa going on then Radz in the short term, depends who is willing to buy and not buy. Not sure Bielsa will have the energy to go again or the players to go with him unless he can show how he has learned and that he really has the resources he wants.

Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. How was your Easter you were very quiet on here!

23 Apr 2019 13:53:08
Spanish Not good! Very depressed about losing to Wigan. There's other personal carp I'm going through right now. An Easter to forget!

23 Apr 2019 13:58:52
Spanish Radz and American counterparts at Swans thought, no hoped deal was done. They knew all along about Jenkins. Jenkins was the one who told McBurnie he's going nowhere. There was however a chink of light with Jenkins. He was passionate about protecting financial interests of Swans so informed everyone he'll only sanction deal if virtually all money paid up front. You know the outcome.

23 Apr 2019 14:32:59
That’s interesting stuff George. Hopefully Radz will learn from it! Sorry to hear your news. The personal stuff can help keep the football in perspective but the football can also provide some much needed relief at time. When both are bad, it’s not good! Feeling for you!

23 Apr 2019 17:01:17
Spaniard Thanks. Please bear in mind Radz economic with the truth. He said afterward "we did everything they asked". Yes, in a way he's right. Problem is he didn't do everything that EVERYONE asked, ie Jenkins.

23 Apr 2019 19:17:06
James was supposed to be Bielsa's number 1 target, so why did we not try to get the deal done early in the Window? Radz and his sidekick Kinnear have always been economical with the truth. Remember last close season when Kinnear was on a Season Ticket Sales Drive and he was telling us how many millions we had to spend as well as the 10 million from the 49rs. What happened to all that?

23 Apr 2019 22:34:39
Swansea were always trying to hold on to their key players and only sell as much as they needed. I suspect that James was the last one that they wanted to go and from memory he wasn’t the only deal that fell through on the final day once they had what they needed. In the end it worked out for them, they have benefited from his play and they should get a much better fee for him, so you can see why they did it.

23 Apr 2019 22:57:04
Spanish The "they" you refer to was Jenkins on his own. He left the following day. James' increase in value via goalscoring displays prove he was right. The benefactors, Swansea, are merely lucky as "they" intended quite the reverse, his sale.

19 Apr 2019 17:08:30
What a shocker in more ways than one. Cannot wait for the close season. Today scores out of 10. Alioski 3 Harrison 3 Everyone else not a great deal better but we kept going down the left and that's where it fizzled out.

Unfortunately leo, these performances always seem to happen at the worst time. Reminds me of the Wolves game under Monk. At least we have the lifeline of the playoffs this time, but if they can't perform when the pressure's on, they won't be winning them either.

22 Apr 2019 19:18:26
Tactics and selection were poor, the players were useless. This behing the scenes documentary isn't going to sell well. Last 2 games are pointless now, need to make 7 or 8 changes either way.

22 Apr 2019 20:58:55
New manager. Vinny84.

27 Apr 2019 20:47:39
All this resting players though we do need to tread carefully and make sure we do finish 3rd.

19 Apr 2019 17:03:17
As much as I want too be positive. I feel that's our chance over. A win today was vital. Although as today's result proves. Anything can happen in remaining games. Here's hoping. MOT as always. ⚽️👍.

Agreed Batty it amuses me when "pundits" calculate the points from games yet to play. In this league any team can beat any team, as we have seen time and time again.
