Archie Gray just signed new contract that takes him to 2028, woohoo!

His contract was expiring next year 2025

So that extra 3 year extension is absolutely great news for a number of reasons.

2.) 16 Jan 2024 21:29:04
Nice work!

13 Feb 2019 22:03:47
Well what a stat that is. When we have scored first we have won 14 out of 14 games, nuff said!

Hecky or the monkeyman, sadly for the dogbotherers O'Neill's gone to Notts Florists, another fine appointment :)

3.) 14 Jan 2019 19:31:56
LOL Other Woody. Either him or Moyes or Hughes or Jose. The carousel keeps turning.

4.) 14 Jan 2019 19:34:16
Quite right 2 Sheds. Is Huddersfield a small place near Leeds?

5.) 15 Jan 2019 12:21:47
It's actually a public toilet between leeds and halifax.

6.) 15 Jan 2019 16:38:19
Well they're certainly getting peed on every week :)

7.) 15 Jan 2019 17:19:01
I feel sorry for Wagner. I liked his positive and honest interviews. And I thought he did extremely well with an average Huddersfield side.

(Yes, I remember the spat with Monk but with hindsight I can't get to angry about what happened
And yes I know it's the dogbothers but I think the manager was reasonably good at his job. Getting them up and getting 2 years of Premiership money. Not to mention the parachute payments. He certainly paid for himself)

Anyone else seen Brian Reade's article in the Daily Mirror today, where he comments on the 'Dark Arts' of today's Chelsea and uses Don Revie's Leeds of the 60's and 70's as example. ha ha I nearly wet myself laughing 😃

I just had an awful thought,

We beat both Foxes and Dipswitch home and away,

The only team left who can do the double over us is, yes you've guessed it, Southampton on the last day of the season.

I'm freaking out already :-)

2 sheds

1.) 07 Mar 2024 18:44:13
2 sheds. Incorrect statement. On April 9th we play Sunderland who beat us at the Stadium ?️ of Darkness thanks to a Jobe ? ⚽ via I believe a deflected pass involving a former youth product of ours whom I did not wish us to sell. Therefore they could also do a double over us.

2.) 07 Mar 2024 19:00:33
More scary 2 Sheds

is that Leeds vs Saints game

is a battle for who comes 3rd and 4th between Leeds and Saints with top 2 already confirmed before that game.

3.) 07 Mar 2024 19:23:39
Had same thought plus I know a load of saints fans! So I will be blocking a lot of people on social media plus possibly getting banged up if it don’t go our way.

4.) 07 Mar 2024 20:13:16
You're quite right Georgey, my bad!
My eyesight ain't what it used to be along with a lot of other things, I'll post it again after we've stuffed them Rokey twonks!

5.) 07 Mar 2024 20:34:58
We have some tough games coming up certainly- I'm not looking forward to meeting those black cats or the tigers. And Wall are always tough to play against as are Wendy's in their cup final. Buckle up guys and gals it's going to be a bumpy ride.

6.) 08 Mar 2024 05:06:08
Good to see even more negative posting.

7.) 08 Mar 2024 07:02:45
Lads, we've gained 31 points out of a possible 33 this calendar year. Scored plenty. Conceded far less than all our closest rivals and our manager has won 2 Manager of the Months back to back.

The negativity isn't warranted at all. We've won beautifully, we've won ugly. But we are winning. Let's try enjoy it, shall we.

8.) 08 Mar 2024 08:13:46
Could not agree more Dillinger

9.) 08 Mar 2024 08:43:01
For me, i want the Hull game out of the way. think that is a tricky one.

10.) 08 Mar 2024 15:53:38
We will beat Saints at home, to confirm our second title in four years. (Is it 4?)
Positive enough fellaaaaas?

11.) 08 Mar 2024 16:33:40
Agree again revie

I think hull had a great window and got some good players in

I fancy them for the playoffs … unless we are in it of course.

Excellent article in the Daily Mail today about the 1970 Fa cup final replay between Leeds and Chelsea where Mark Clattenburg says how he would have handled the game as referee :-)

Excellent article and the Daily Mail, now there a few words that should never be put together to make a sentence.

2.) 28 Feb 2024 13:23:45
Spoiler alert

Clattenburg sez he woulda sent off 5 and one of 'em coulda been sent off twice :-)

3.) 28 Feb 2024 14:03:17
I believe D. Ellery (if not him a previous well thought of Ref, if there is such a thing :) said he would have sent 11 players off and abandoned the game.

4.) 28 Feb 2024 14:57:33
I believe Michael Oliver was the last to re-ref and he said 11 reds.
I just sent the clip to young Nigerian I work with (who plays as a winger) and he was stunned!

5.) 28 Feb 2024 16:16:28
As one of those who's deaf, blind and doesn't know his father .

After the first couple of yellows and reds and the hacks being called instead of letting them play on, the game would have settled down . So yes in total there were many red card incidents, but if you manage the game then those should have not taken place.

That Ref was to blame for NOT getting control of the game. What I'm surprised at is that there where no legs broken, especially wee billy's and eddy's.

Taken from Chelsea fan's forum earlier today.

"Unforgivable loss, this club is done at the top level, this lot of players and manager are beyond useless, chokers of the highest order, its simply pathetic. I'm lost for words at the sh*t i'm witnessing. This club has lost its identity, if Poch has any self respect he should resign. This is beyond laughable".

Things might be about to get worse for you my cork knee.

Glad to see normal order restored. An away game against a top 10 prem team. Send the under 12s down for the Plymouth reply and focus on the league ?.

2.) 28 Jan 2024 15:44:04
Potentially away again

Chelsea at home would have been far better

#Unnecessary distractions FACup.

3.) 28 Jan 2024 15:47:19
Or Villa.

4.) 28 Jan 2024 15:55:01
Be nice to get big allocation might actuaaly get a ticket to an away game, it's like a willy wonka golden ticket these days.

Meanwhile Ambrosia get a tough draw.

7.) 28 Jan 2024 16:39:57
Yes Richie and George. Vile or Chelsea away

Send the u16s to Plymouth.

8.) 28 Jan 2024 18:39:31
You won’t be saying #Unnecessary distractions FA Cup if somehow we made the final Baz.

Here’s a question for you, however unlikely it would appear but would you prefer promotion or an FA cup trophy?
I know what I’d prefer.

9.) 28 Jan 2024 18:53:52
If wid shaped ourselves yesterday we wouldn't need replay not looking after ball in final third ether bad choice of pass or bad pass costing us especially sat and we still had anough chances win game mot.

10.) 28 Jan 2024 21:44:08
That's quite a good question from you OP.

It's quite a tough one . but

I would choose promotion in 2024 over winning FACup in 2024.

Three reasons:

1) Promotion this season is extremely important for the club to progress ; no guarantees Leeds go up next seasons and financial implications issues if they don't

2) I have already seen Leeds win 9 trophies. if I hadn't seen Leeds win leagues, cups etc before then maybe, just maybe my answer would differ

3) the FACup in 60s, 70s even 80s was a very prestigious competition and trophy to win . arguably more high profile than winning league . but it has definitely lost that prestige a lot in past 35 years imo

And what about you OP?

11.) 28 Jan 2024 22:27:56
Promotion every time, but a cup run would do for me as well, aka the blunts last season.

12.) 28 Jan 2024 23:18:51
Baz Don't forget your proud moment as a teenager seeing LUFC formed from the ruins of Leeds City.

13.) 29 Jan 2024 01:41:02
A proud day George. next you be saying I was born before Industrial Revolution ?.

14.) 29 Jan 2024 07:59:54
As implausible as it might seem, this season I would take an FA cup win.

European football, our best players would stay, big income uptick (not as much as promo but still) . Even runner-up could get European football. We would also miss out those miserable early EFL Cup games!

Probably a better chance than our playoff Wembley trip!

Hey, let's hope for both!

15.) 29 Jan 2024 08:22:46
We’ll let me put it this way, imagine the scenario and you’re going to have entertain me on this. We have put aside Plymouth, then away at Stamford bridge which we win. Next, Quarter final against Newcastle at Elland rd, emphatic win against the barcodes.
Semi final is Liverpool, we win in a very intense penalty shoot out.
The Final is against Man United.
In the league we are on joint points with Southampton and it is our last game of the season against Southampton for that second spot auto.
We can only win one game, which one is it?

16.) 29 Jan 2024 11:20:00
Cup. remembered for ever. 2nd forgotten by August.

17.) 29 Jan 2024 11:28:31
Err so Leeds win all 5 games Plymouth away Chelsea away . Saudi Barcodes, Liverpool and Man U

Yet more reasoms why you be known as "Fantasy OP' ??

Err its more appealing now certainly

I always knew your answer OP.

18.) 29 Jan 2024 12:19:54
I think you are slightly missing the point Baz!

19.) 29 Jan 2024 12:49:15
Ani I can name all. winners of Cups from 1960 to 1990 but especially in mullenium. I couldn't. i haven't even watched some of them . meh.

20.) 29 Jan 2024 13:25:57
Baz, what self respecting football fan can’t name all the finalist and winners for basically their whole life?

OP’s conundrum was a sensationally implausible cup win or a 2nd place promotion; you just saw it as another opportunity to have another dig.

21.) 29 Jan 2024 14:17:48
Ani IF you seriously believe that the FACup now has the same standing and prestige as it had in 60s and 70s then you truly don't have a scooby doo.

The FA cup hasn't interested me for decades . its meh

OP conundrum was pointless fantasy .

and no team outside of top division has won the FA Cup for 45 years .

As I correctly stated above the FA cup is an unnecessary distraction. we will be out in this round or next.

22.) 29 Jan 2024 18:41:48
I’d rather have my, as you call pointless fantasy, than your continual misery of the football team I love.

23.) 29 Jan 2024 19:40:08
Pointless fantasies are never achieved .

Realism, striving for better far more useful.

24.) 29 Jan 2024 19:45:33
Well Baz, technically the FA Cup has the same prestige as it always has…the 2nd most important trophy in England; still attracts a European place, a charity (community) shield game and a trip to (at least 3) Wembley.

The issue is these days, virtually anyone gets to play at Wembley, so many games are played there. Far more European places available and the real apathy these days is it is no longer the one live game we get to watch. It’s wall-to-wall live games these days. Back in the day, teams released music to celebrate their visit there; they even made TV programs (dramas! ) about the day. “Our” apathy towards it is probably compounded by our team’s meagre excursions into the latter round over the last 30 (50?) years or more.

Still, I will happily state I would love to win it and so would 99% of fans (hence why everyone still decries their managers for fielding weakened teams) . And yes, if winning the cup was at the cost of being in the EPL a little later, fair price I’d say. The sell out at Elland Rd last weekend suggest to me that fans (especially Leeds fans) like the cup (s)

25.) 29 Jan 2024 20:08:31
Ani your 2nd paragraph is spot on.

26.) 30 Jan 2024 05:24:28
I understand nostalgia and that it was all so much better in the old days, but that’s life, adapt and move on.
To be constantly moaning like Baz is pointless, you may as well change your sport if you are forever miserable and continually complaining about everything.
By the way Baz if you can’t understand that my little FA cup fictitious scenario then I would be wasting my time with you. Which I seem to do anyhow.

I think the way to stop players feigning injury is to stop medical staff coming onto the pitch to treat him.

Stretcher the player straight off the pitch to be treated on the touchline. Let's see how injured he really is as the game continues without him.
