How about this for a thought. If Middlesbrough are after Taylor and he won't stay, then why not say to them ok, you can have him for a straight swap for Rhodes, or as the vast majority of any deal for him in part ex?

Ben - telford

1.) 18 Dec 2016 10:42:02
straight swap? taylor worth more than rhodes taylor prem quailty rhodes aint, i'd rather the money or rhodes plus 3 mil but don't think theyd go for that.

2.) 18 Dec 2016 15:44:05
BW I'm in full agreement, normally yes CT is worth more, but not with 6 months left on his contract. same as happened with Bryam and cook.

3.) 18 Dec 2016 19:21:30
that is a good point didn't really consider that, I would hope we would still get five for him though and fancy rhodes might got for a bit less than that, this said that might be rose coloured glasses on from mt part. I also not sure rhodes would suit our style of play. way we play at the moment he is not better than wood (in current system) so do we change system? drop wood (who in my opinion is un-droppable) or buy rhodes as back up? though call but can see arguments for both sides.

4.) 18 dec 2016 20:58:44
keep taylor, get promoted, then pay taylor what he is worth to stay. if it ain't broke don't fix it!

5.) 18 Dec 2016 21:17:45
Hooks Recollecting you once wanted to tell CT to fork off in those capital letters of yours.

6.) 18 Dec 2016 21:28:21
BW to be honest I think we just need to trust Gary! but Rhodes does have a track record and is available. We will just have to wait and see. Have a great Christmas.

7.) 19 dec 2016 01:14:07
yes i did george, before the season started. worth a lot more at that time. plus he didn't want to be at leeds. i think he might have second thoughts now. like me. guess i am forking myself off george! :-)

I would be over the moon if we only signed the loans on permanents and monk on a long term contract. Worried that if the takeover goes ahead monk will get the push.

Ben - telford

1.) 14 Dec 2016 20:47:36
Ben AR would be a lunatic if he got rid of Monk. I wouldn't be over the moon though without new blood coming in. Striker, attacking midfielder and central defender all need to arrive in January.

2.) 14 Dec 2016 21:02:09
George I agree he would be, but look at Birmingham today! I also agree that new blood would be great, but the priority has to be tie everyone up ready spending more in the summer.

3.) 14 Dec 2016 21:17:44
Ben Disagree. We have a real chance to go up in May. To be in the playoffs almost halfway through the season without another striker genuinely challenging Wood is testimony to how well the team is playing and Monk and Clotet management which has even impressed me. To not add in January as I've identified is an act of lunacy. I understand about tying up the likes of PJ PH and Barkley but if there's only enough funds for 3 to come in while those guys stay on loan that's the main priority imo. Accession to PL can be worth over 150m to the club in long-run.

4.) 14 Dec 2016 21:31:24
Or George we spend on other players, keep them on loan, don't go up and loose them in the summer! To me surely the priority is to guarantee to keep our team and management together and then and only then go for others in there is extra or spare cash available. We of all teams shouldn't gamble anything.

5.) 14 Dec 2016 22:23:56
We don't need to sign Sacko and Bartley in January, PH is only on loan till January so he is needed and Jansson is too important to not sign at the earliest opportunity. We still need a striker, creative midfielder, GK and back up CB.

6.) 15 Dec 2016 02:20:34
SG has things pretty much spot on. Don't see GK as a priority. Silvestre looking like a fairly capable replacement but the other positions are obvious.

7.) 15 Dec 2016 07:25:40
IMO the difference between this season and last is we aren't conceding as many goals. Get Pontus and Barkley signed permanently first and hopefully the rest will follow. As for Monk, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to replace him (and his team) now as we are overachieving which to shows he is a decent coach/manager.

8.) 15 Dec 2016 09:11:48
Agree Danum. Anyone suggesting replacing Monk and Clotet need locking up. They are the main pieces of the jigsaw and I believe the reason why players will want to stay and why owners will want to invest . It's true new owners often want to bring new people in, but at the moment there's no one in my view who I'd want to replace GM. And I agree we want Pontus asap, but if things continue as they are, I can't seem him wanting a move. Don't forget he's more about the love than the dollars, and he ain't going to get more love anywhere else than he's getting here atm.

9.) 15 Dec 2016 15:15:50
Bang on SG exactly what we need. At the moment with injuries we are shuffling a decreasing number of players into a formation that suits us this can only go on for so long, if we fail to add to the squad in January our season could implode. The only thing I would add to SG''s post is we also need to offload players who are no longer needed at the club.

10.) 15 Dec 2016 17:08:51
SG is on the money give Pilot and PH contracts this frees up two loans Striker, GK are must attacking m/f and c/b .

Does the ref know that when a player in yellow is near the ball he does always need to blow the whistle?

Ben - telford

1.) 09 Dec 2016 22:51:48
We are in need of a Charlie Adam type of midfielder who can dominate play and not give the ball away. Also, I am thankful for the goals he has scored but Stevie Wonder or my Granny could mark Chris Wood! All said I still believe we will find a way to get a point. Kemar Roofe you Beauty! MOT.

Ok massimo banned for 18 months and find 250k, big Sam caught on camera admitting to getting around the FAs own rules whilst England manager. no ban, no fine and only resigned not sacked! have I missed the point?

Ben - telford

1.) 08 Dec 2016 20:12:26
And Sam supposedly walked away with a million. We will have stick to the rules like all the other clubs do.

2.) 08 dec 2016 20:20:15
as long as mc fights for our club i would support him. i will always say, no matter what happens moving forward he still saved our club!

3.) 08 Dec 2016 22:32:44
Ben does it help explain if I tell you Sam Allardyce had nothing to do with Leeds United? It's become a sound defense in the English legal system.

4.) 08 Dec 2016 22:37:38
Hooks, I think you need to tell the FA to Fork Off

5.) 09 Dec 2016 00:47:42
I don't understand how both MC and the club can be fined, surely it has to be one or the other? (and that is taking into consideration that it's LUFC ;)

6.) 09 Dec 2016 04:47:30
Staffie, just be thankful FA don't fine the fans as well. However, based on FA principles on penalizing everyone involved, perhaps they should fine themselves for permitting Cellino to pass fit and proper test in first place.

7.) 09 Dec 2016 11:40:53
Surprised they haven't fined themselves for allowing LUFC to be one of their members :) On the subject of Sam, why aren't the people that hired him being suspended, surely they can't be fit and proper?

I see monk is mentioned as a possible replacement for billic! Surely monkey magic needs signing up tomorrow!

Happy with that if Steve has to leave.
Still think that he should be given a chance with a window he is backed in!

Got to say I'm disappointed that we are having a sponsor in the first place! our shirt is by a million miles the classiest of all the kits I know of anywhere! I understand it brings in revenue, but we look the part and I'm sad to see our current shirt go! 😢.

Lucas as I understand it shoddy turned down a new contract, but hull have taken up the option of adding a extra year which was written into his contract. I believe this is in order to get more money for him when they sell.

Honestly the way things are going I'd say it would see us staying around where we are now. Depends on the players available. i'd say with a full sqau 6/7 points is realistic.

We are always dreadful over Christmas, let's hope for an improvement in that way before we start dreaming if challenging the top teams.
