We are set up to win this league.
We will win this league.
I thought we were amazing last season and can only get better with a second year under Bielsa.
Bamford will be the division top scorer. I don't care he didn't fire in pre season as he's saving goals for the real thing.
We have numerous players to fit into many different positions and the talented young lads will step in at ease for injuries.
But most importantly I think the players BELIEVE that they can and will do the business this coming season. That confidence will get us back where we belong.
MOT.

Cork Think you'll find the player who tops division scoring charts last name begins with M. Mitrovic or Maupay. They'll probably net 30 each whereas Paddy will be doing brilliantly to reach 20.

2.) 02 Aug 2019 11:42:20
Maupay will be gone and Mitrovic is nowhere near a 30 goal forward. I’d be surprised if he gets 20 championship goals.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 13:45:36
Cork You're incorrect statistically. Mitrovic joined Fulham on loan 2 seasons ago when they were in the Championship. 1st February 2018 to be exact. He netted 12 times in 17 appearances. Over a 46 game campaign, that's 32 goals. As for Maupay leaving, there's only 5 days left in the window. Doubt he'll leave in that time.

4.) 02 Aug 2019 20:32:25
I remember George but goal scoring doesn’t quite work that way otherwise Mark Viduka would have been a 40 goal a season player.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 21:50:43
Cork Mitrovic and Maupay will fight it out for leading Championship goalscorer for the 19/ 20 season. Fact.

17 Jul 2019 16:11:58
Looking like Danny Rose could be on the move? Much needed bobs for Leeds.

CORKWHITEI

1.) 17 Jul 2019 17:59:55
Anyone know what % we are entitled to?

2.) 17 Jul 2019 18:28:42
Canada I believe I do. It's 10% of the profit Spurs make. I think we can expect to see something in the region of £2.5m.

3.) 17 Jul 2019 19:15:30
Nice little earner for Radz.

4.) 17 Jul 2019 19:42:11
Thanks George, not a bad little sum.

5.) 17 Jul 2019 22:29:17
whatever bonus they get for Danny sale, angus will be have it safely tucked away in a spreadsheet under a obscure title ready to load into toxics resting account . At least Bates never claimed to be anything he wasnt.

12 Jul 2019 13:20:01
Spurs interested in Kalvin Phillips. Absolutely hilarious if it were to happen. I wonder will Tottenham sack their scout?

CORKWHITEI

1.) 12 Jul 2019 18:32:38
No but a couple of Cubs are getting a stern talking to.

07 Jul 2019 22:50:47
Wondering what's everyone's views on Jansson having no Premier league team coming in for him? Would explain the low fee? If someone told me a few days ago he was off to Brentford I would of thought they were off their head! I'm still waiting for a counter offer from a bigger team but looking unlikely.

CORKWHITEI

1.) 07 Jul 2019 23:52:24
My only thought on Jansson being sold for a pathetically low fee is that our chairman is a cretin. and I might have just insulted cretins.

2.) 08 Jul 2019 05:48:35
I think Jansson has enough qualities to have been a success in the PL. Maybe not a top 6 team, but definitely a mid to lower placed team.
So, I am surprised by the paucity of his suitors.

The fee, well it's just economics, if the only buying team will only pay £X then £X is all he is worth.
The selling team could always say NO, that's too low and not negotiate further. Thus, by basic logic, the selling team are actively wanting to get rid of that asset.

Now, it could be because the asset is no longer viewed as necessary. Or the asset has become toxic. But also it could be that the transfer fee is viewed as the important part of the transaction for the selling club.
Maybe it is needed to pay a debt. Maybe it is needed to fund a new asset.
Personally I have no idea, but I have an inkling that the Pontus Jansson transfer will not be the last transfer Leeds United ever do. They have a history of doing it. 99 years in fact. can't see them stopping now.

3.) 08 Jul 2019 11:07:05
If PJ was deemed a negative influence at the club and had to go what is happening about Saiz, the club has had since January to deal with him?

06 Jul 2019 19:07:05
Brentford? Not good for his massive ego!
5.5 million if correct is an extremely poor deal for Leeds. Anyone who was thinking 15-20 million as some have said on here are living in cloud cuckoo land however we still should of got nearer the 10 mark.

CORKWHITEI

1.) 06 Jul 2019 19:14:27
Think 7 tops corky cat.

2.) 06 Jul 2019 20:08:34
Good riddance to pontus ( badge kisser, fist pumping, I'm taking you to the premiership) Jansson. YOUR NOT BIGGER! Than my club! There was a reason you never made it at Torino, we can see it now. Move on, over you already. Self before club everytime. #herotozero!

3.) 06 Jul 2019 23:13:56
Expect Roofe to be next out of the door.

4.) 06 Jul 2019 23:16:13
My thoughts exactly Mezzer, I said it last close season when he was whining to the Swedish press.

Costa to start? But who should drop out? Klich or Harrison I'd imagine or on occasions Pablo. It's great to have options going forward.

CORKWHITEI

1.) 11 Aug 2019 09:33:48
Klitch with paublo at 10.

2.) 11 Aug 2019 10:17:00
Forshaw to drop out . He has no cutting edge and can’t score . Klich to drop back into his position and Costa and Pablo to interchange between 10 and wide right . Simples .

3.) 11 Aug 2019 10:28:58
Pablo will need rest and for me of course Phillips gets dropped with Klich and Forshaw taking the role I do predict Phillips will get dropped this year.

4.) 11 Aug 2019 11:01:47
Forshaw is improving every game. Klich would be the one to make way for me right now.

5.) 11 Aug 2019 15:07:14
Forshaw will not get ten goals from midfield like Klich .

05 Aug 2019 23:17:21
Message to George. Maupay has gone to Brighton. That's your banker bet gone then😜.

01 Aug 2019 21:20:55
Remember the first game last season against Stoke? The football blew me away. I recall saying at the time it was like watching Barcelona!
A year on I believe we will be even better. Reason being the players will be more in tune with Bielsas methods and different systems.
There's one or two on here who doubt the squad pedigree but I'm sure you lads will be eating your, I won't say negative, words!

CORKWHITEI

1.) 01 Aug 2019 21:52:40
👍👍⚽️⚽️😁😁.

2.) 01 Aug 2019 21:55:44
I really hope you are right Cork but I detect a real feeling of unrest in the camp.

3.) 01 Aug 2019 22:49:20
In Bielsa we trust.

4.) 02 Aug 2019 04:13:39
I think we will know fairly quickly.
If we are good we should walk the first 5-6 league games
If we are bad. Then we won’t.
My gut is won’t.
I’m praying that unloading all the surplus will give us enough money for a bang em in striker and decent cb.
Without these two additions I will be very surprised if this season will be a happy one.
I still think Phillips will go too. I know biesla doesn’t want him sold, so if he is sold, could create a rift between biesla and radz.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 07:07:21
Aus, not sure that we will walk the first 5 however we’ll we go on to do this year. I’m Cork but with a bit of Hughgo thrown in! I think we might take more time to find our feet this season. Some new key players, emerging players to be integrated in the right places, possibly a post Jansson reaction from some and probably a new formation all coupled with a difficult pre season from a preparation point of view. I think we’ve got the potential to be up there again but need to work out the best way of using the talent at our disposal and not sure we’ve seen how we are going to do that yet. Missing Roofe and Ayling at the start is a bummer as well.

The danger with Bielsa is often you either win or lose and the margin between 5 straight victories or 5 straight defeats could be very small. 5 of the latter would start the panic bells ringing.

Having said all of that, really looking forward to seeing what bielsa has in store for us, definitely going to be some exciting football!

6.) 02 Aug 2019 09:12:19
We are not even sure Bielsa will be playing the same system. Think the players are capable of giving a good performance again but my worry is strength in depth. All our younger defenders are on their way out or gone already and we have only got White in. Plus Roofe and KP will probably be gone before long so we have got to hope Bubs looks to players like Edmo, Gotts and Davis and use them properly. Think you all know my opinion of Dallas at RB and Beradi as CB. Think this season may mirror last season, lot of possession but letting in silly goals. Doubt if we will be sat in top two all season though.

7.) 02 Aug 2019 10:41:24
In theory this makes sense with us getting use to Mb style but one things worries me last year as the season went on we got worse not better

Mb works people Hard and our small squad didn’t stand test if the season I don’t see how that will be different this season.

Has Bermo finally admitted he's a Milwall fan or have I had too many?
Hilarious banter between Mad Mick, Notts and the south London lad. Scroll down a bit if you ain't read it.

1.) 29 Jul 2019 09:58:53
When your own mantra is 'no-one likes me, I don't care', I think that says it all Corky.

MM.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 11:07:27
Yeah you know it’s gonns start well with no offence but.
For those that missed it I made younger I’m cheek about being the orical because when I point something out I get stuck then down the line people tend to agree seasons after I pointed it out

As mm said I make a lot of predictions which he don’t read which is fair enough but he seems to have judgement on them which seems odd because for someone that likes a prediction or statement which I do I don’t remember anyone pointing out where I was wrong which again seems odd for someone having a good old dig

But as mm pointed out I only go once a blue moon and have limited knowledge on Leeds which makes sense as that ain’t my club . Hope mm is right and his pal cooper is as class as he says because I don’t rate him but then I wouldn’t I’m millwall.

3.) 29 Jul 2019 11:35:59
Bermo

No one points out when your wrong because we can't be bothered about your postings beyond the few minutes after reading them. There are too many good things in life to remember. Your posts are one of them.

Your just another noise on this banter site. All doom and gloom. Always saying when your right. Always telling others they are wrong. Always hinting that you know more than anyone else.

If you didn't have Bermondsey in your name I would like you were my dad

MM. welcome to the Hot Tub of Hope. Prosecco or Pink Gin?

4.) 29 Jul 2019 13:16:08
No axe I’m not your dad my kids are polite and not personal as for mentioning when I’m wrong at the risk of sounding like you’re old man. it just doesn’t happen

Love to join the hot tub if hope but too long in the tooth to to believe the water is warm.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 14:45:22
Just hope somebody remembers to turn the immersion heater on.

6.) 29 Jul 2019 15:46:20
yeah but trouble is leodis rads is going to sell roof to pay for the electric.

7.) 29 Jul 2019 15:53:45
Leodis. the immersion heater is never off

Bermo, you give personal opinions on things. How am I to discuss those opinions of yours without getting personal?

That is such a weird tack to take on the banter site. You give a personal opinion and everyone else can only deal in absolute facts.

And trust me I am politer than your kids (was that a personal attack on me? ) . As you have never read me saying "I know best" or I told you so once".
There are far more enlightened folk on here than me, and I enjoy reading some thought provoking posts (none from you for a while due to your Phillips fixation) .

8.) 29 Jul 2019 16:33:34
i give personal opinons on football never a personal opinion of a person on here like you have you must be able to tell the difference. in fact you can because you picked up on my comment about my kids being poiliter than you. which was put as an example to be picked up on by yourself

i have never made an attack on this site but been subject to many not about football but personal to me. that's fine i ignore and roll with it

also how do you know your more polite than my kids? i say i know best and i told you so because i'm an arse not my kids they don't post on here because they are millwall fans and aged 2 and 5

as for my thought provoking posts you should pay some attention you are all very lucky to get my wise words of wisdom on here for free. i really should start charging.

26 Jul 2019 20:18:24
Ayling injured let's go buy another RB. Same for Roofe I reckon? The squad a few senior pros light? Surely Rad should pick up around three from premier league clubs, players who won't get game time for their teams. Any three, or maybe even four, will do.

Ok I'm being a little sarcastic but you see my point?
Last January we only brought in Casillas either because we couldn't acquire the players needed/ Bielsa wanted or maybe the goalkeeper was all MB wanted.
Last season most on here predicted a top half finish and one or two fancied top six. Ok my memory is not what it was but I'm pretty sure nobody said they expected automatic promotion.

It's too early to say if the first eleven will be stronger this season but I'm sure the squad absolutely is. And if the young lad on loan from Brighton steps up to the mark then we will be marching on together!

CORKWHITEI

1.) 27 Jul 2019 00:01:25
Things are more messed up then I thought, we are in serious need of a Centre half maybe 2 and another striker. So I expect that our last signing will be some average central midfielder on loan. The sooner Radz sells the club the better expect Bielsa to be gone before January.

2.) 27 Jul 2019 00:12:13
I remember when Bielsa said that he would not be able to get as good a season out of the same players this time around. That comment lead me to believe we would have a significant overhaul. Christ was I wrong.

3.) 27 Jul 2019 08:20:27
As this season draws closer, from a standpoint of not wanting to be negative about for my hopes on this coming season, I find that iam more torn or confused than ever. The efforts of the last season should have put me in the positive camp, a good effort, better than expected at the beginning of the season and solid platform to build on. On closer reflection, I feel we haven't really strengthen a squad that had already come up short. Yes we have some good young players coming through which is a plus, but feel our management are blinkered. Personally I've trying to stay calm and realistically temper my expectations. I've been a Leeds fan since the early 1970's so like many others on this site experienced highs and lows. I just want to see my club back in the big time where they belong, we have the infrastructure to be there, but don't believe our present owner will be the one to steer us. Heart says we can go up, but head says it won't happen again this year. Always hoping, always wanting.

4.) 27 Jul 2019 08:34:40
Great post Mezzer.

5.) 27 Jul 2019 09:07:14
Sorry but already we have Roofe and Ayling out. We do have Gotts who is more than capable but unlikely to be picked and Berardi who is getting past his best but i think it likely Dallas will get the nod. Berardi will be back up CB. Think Bamford will play scoring or not and Edmo will sat fuming. Stronger squad, not on your life. I am usually an optimistic guy and last season knew we would be top six. Sadly some of the decisions being taken are making me doubt our ability to be up there all season again. I reckon come Jan we will be chasing 6th place unless players like Edmo, Shacks and Gotts are given a proper chance and amaze us all, as we are not going to buy anyone else are we. If we start with Dallas then nothing has been learned.

6.) 27 Jul 2019 10:02:29
We haven't bought anybody bielsa, the signings we have made are all loans. Radz said this would be a difficult window, well up to now he is bang on as far as us fans are concerned. Like most on here I talk to fans of other Clubs, and some find it bizzare that we never sign anybody, especially after going so close last year. As I have said before, I hope there will be a surprise or two before the window closes, but I doubt it.

7.) 27 Jul 2019 13:29:36
It doesn’t matter! It’s about playing good football and nothing else, as we are told to believe, not matter who starts, just in joy the game.

8.) 27 Jul 2019 15:10:34
Although I accept Cork's point about knee jerk reactions to bringing in players who are injured, the point has been missed that we have a squad of senior players who have poor injury records. The usual suspects are Roofe, Forshaw, Ayling, Berardi, Cooper, Dallas and the ever so fragile Roberts. The season has not started in ernest and we already have Roofe, Forshaw, Roberts and Ayling injured with Dallas playing with a bandage on his head! What does the fraility of our squad equate to? Square pegs in round holes. Berardi (a right back) being cover for the centre backs, the world's only defensive winger in Dallas now being a right back.

I hear the cry "We can use Gotts from the U23's at right back". Bielsa would rather move one of his chosen matchday squad than bring in someone from the U23s. At least we may get to see more of Shackleton, although at right back he is wasted however he will have to wait until Dallas is out with an inevitable injury. We have learned absolutely nothing from last season with the club's hierarchy believing that the majority of our injury problems last season were down to bad luck, it appears that we are not having much luck again. Coincidence? I think not.

9.) 27 Jul 2019 15:36:10
With the addition of Costa and the likes of Shackleton and Clarke a year further ahead I believe the squad is stronger. Ideally another CB would be great but if White does the business and we don’t get as many injuries as last season we have every chance of top two.

10.) 27 Jul 2019 17:15:47
First rate post NottsWhite . They all have their heads in the sand and that must include Bielsa! We will probably start pretty well as MB always makes the most of pre - season ( although Radz has done his utmost to ruin even that with his money making trips ) and the positive / up Radz’ arse brigade will be giving it large . But this squad is not built to last and I’m sick to death of all the bitter disappointments. I shall obviously continue to support but will not get my hopes up even if we are up there at Xmas , as it will all be built on shakey foundations.

11.) 27 Jul 2019 17:37:06
Injuries to our current playing squad are inevitable. We are again gambling on the hope that we don't get too many. An injury to Cooper or White and we are stuck with Berardi as centre back, it is also likely that Berardi will play a fair number of games of centre back. Prolonged injury to Ayling will lead to Dallas being our regular right back.

We should not have to make do with "jack of all trades" in key defensive positions. You can probably get away with it further up the field. Although you cannot win games through having a strong defence you can definitely lose games through not having a good defence.

12.) 27 Jul 2019 18:48:22
Valid points Notts. I know Beradi can be a liability at times with his hot headed nature but at the start of last season he was very good at CB while Jansson was out injured and may have kept Jansson out of the team had he stayed fit himself.

13.) 27 Jul 2019 18:56:46
Agreed Cork, but he was also part of the downfall against Derby but getting sent off.

Again Bermo how many times have you seen Struick play? I hope he’s the new Radabe but I have no idea how good he is. Spanish rates him as he watches him often but never says he should be playing as he realizes that the manager sees more of him on a day to day basis. Berm you are more of a fan than a supporter and your recent posts show that. Enjoy the game.

Bermo you never cease to amaze me. You have said many times how great Simon Grayson was as Leeds manager. You are now saying Bielsa out because of the teams defensive frailties especially from corners.
I haven’t checked the records but I’m pretty confident that SGs Leeds conceded more goals per game than MBs Leeds and also more from set pieces. Leeds were actually atrocious defensively under Grayson and I’ll never forget the mid week hammering from Preston. Six goals conceded and four from their big centre forward.
