Wiedwald apparently a done deal. On his way for a medical. I know his stats don't look great but, often a keeper is only as good as the defence in front of him and by all accounts Werder Bremen's defence last season consisted of 10 players in the opposition half.

1.) 29 Jun 2017 11:59:33
Hope he doesn't come in as our number 1 Green was outstanding last season a real leader from the back really kept his box organised and calm.

2.) 29 Jun 2017 12:47:06
Sorry but if you can get in a team at the top level of German football then you can certainly get in a team in the championship, if he does sign then he has to be number 1. I like green but he's not the same level as him.

3.) 29 Jun 2017 13:11:04
Bit torn actually. Green was good after a while last season I would start with green. But he would have to start how he finished last season or out he goes.

4.) 29 Jun 2017 17:28:33
Green was good last year but definitely cost us the 6 points that would have seen us in the playoffs.

5.) 29 Jun 2017 18:24:45
Haha blame the gk for the 6 lost points lol couldn't be the poor all round performance noo

6.) 30 Jun 2017 11:16:09
Individual errors don't happen in football. Is this what you are saying. Green last season made individual errors that definitely cost us points. There's no denying it

7.) 30 Jun 2017 19:31:04
What Pontus jansson didn't cost us any points? Lol it's a team game you can't blame the gk who has saved a lot of points for Leeds.

Elland Road to be purchased early November. Stadium purchase is excluded from FFP (purchase of fixed, depreciable assets are not counted).
Oh and on the FFP transfer embargo rubbish; an embargo would begin 1st Jan 2015 and last until club can demonstrate it is fiscally sound. So, presumably if Harvey is determined, he can stop us buying and selling players for a whole day. However, it is still possible Leeds may get fined, although, given where the business is now, compared with 12 months ago, it could be argued that such a fine is unnecessarily punitive. So says a chap I know at t'FA - we were both drunk, mind.

1.) The fa will use any excuse to punish leeds its been going on for at least 45 years,

2.) MC knows exactly what he is doing, a business man as rich and savvy as him does not spend money lightly & buying back the stadium is all part of proving Leeds are heading back into financial stability. The FA can hate us all they want, they cannot however argue with figures in black & white showing the club is now clearly being managed correctly. don't think MC is too bothered about the FA afterall he is 1-0 up on them already. MOT

3.) City
Drunken chat about leeds that's my kinda night, loved to have been a fly on the wall lol

4.) Believe it or not; not everyone hates us. Some people are (and I know this is going to be tough for anyone to even contemplate but. ) some people, even in the FA, are actually. now make sure you're sitting down for this. some people are. indifferent towards us!
'Came as a shock to me, too.
It's just a shame that the media enjoy portraying both fans and club negatively.
For instance; Cellino gets referred to as 'controversial Leeds chairman', whilst Oyston at Blackpool doesn't even get an adjective.

5.) Seems that M c himself has noticed how certain media portrays him, hence when was the last time he spoke to Sky!
Every one seems to have an opinion on Leeds ex-players etc in regards to M C, and ok he dropped the ball when he assigned the coaches job to D H .
But the hope we have winning games without certain squad players, unknown foreign players, actually doing very well and becoming favourites, the future for once is starting to look bright, a young squad yes, an improving squad yes, sound finances yes .
How many years has it been?

6.) Just thought, I know we are being hit for ffp as GFH ran the club with such large debts. Currently David Haigh is sat in a prison for false invoicing and the auditors at Leeds resigned a week or so back. If Leeds united are a victim of fraudulent crime would this amount (not sure if its big or small) be taken into consideration. If not I can imagine possible legal action from the club. Its been a while since we had a court case.

Not jumping the gun, here and there's a long season ahead but, on the strength of performances so far; which of the players don't look like they'd cut it at a higher level?

1.) 15 Sep 2017 13:11:37
On the strength off performance so far I'd say the team still aren't firing on all cylinders so will get better. So on that. I'd say our starting 11 from Tuesday night plus Dallas and roofe will all be fine when we go up. As they will all surely lift their own game also to prove to themselves and their doubters. 👍⚽️⚽️😃

2.) 15 Sep 2017 13:14:28
Felix - despite the run of clean sheets (which haven't really been down to him imo) he looks very shaky - he really flapped at that one on Tuesday and had to be bailed out by Ayling. Unless he improves, Alioski is looking a good Champ player but not sure if he would be much good at the next level and i doubt Pablo will cut it in the Prem again - he gets tired too quickly imo

3.) 15 Sep 2017 13:18:38
I think you are jumping the gun quite a bit. Top of the table, incredible contributions from Okane, Cooper, Hernandez and Phillips this season. Great starts from Anita, Alioski, Saiz, Lasogga. Accustomed performances from, Aylin's and Pontus. Goals from all over the place, high work rate, fluid passing football. Let's see how we keep on going and how far this great teamwork takes us before writing anybody off!

4.) 15 Sep 2017 13:35:25
Oh I forgot to include Roofe and Dallas in the improved contributions section! How could I, slapped wrist!

5.) 15 Sep 2017 14:04:20
Hw many of Leicesters promotion winning team were good enough for Premiership, can not say till we get there.

6.) 15 Sep 2017 15:16:12
Spot on BIGE. You could only imagine there'd be significant investment if/when we reach the promised land. SKY dosh, extra season ticket sales etc, we wouldn't be short of a few quid. I don't really agree with Spanish (sorry old boy) , I think Pablo is looking sharper this season and has put some good shifts in. Whether he can maintain it or not is anyone's guess but this is why we need a big squad and we have options in most positions so don't have to rely on him so heavily this season. I also think The Cat is a good keeper. Yes, I know about the back four in front of him but it's no mean feat keeping six clean sheets and he has made some important blocks and is quick off his line. You mentioned Ayling having to bail him out midweek, but if the Brum striker hadn't been allowed to get one on one with him, that clearance wouldn't have been necessary. I certainly think he's quicker off his line than Green and he'll do for me. Just my opinion for what it's worth! DTP UTW MM

7.) 15 Sep 2017 15:39:20
Mm. Are you standing in for bw novels whilst he on community duties?

8.) 15 Sep 2017 15:46:12
Personally, I think there's potential in all of our squad to step up, quite simply because Orta will never have been recruiting purely for the championship, and from what I've seen so far, he knows what he's doing quite obviously, so I trust him, and Radz, and the coaching team they have put in place.

9.) 15 Sep 2017 19:17:31
Jinxers, the lot of you. Talking about the p word already, it's only mid sept. If we don't go up this season you'll all be to blame!

27 Aug 2017 07:27:20
It's stuck in my head. Needs out. To the tune of Lady Gaga Alejandro. Alioski Gianni Alioski Repeat

15 Aug 2017 21:55:33
Wood can go, now. Thanks big fella but, Gary Madine is probably available and looked every inch what you're not.

15 Aug 2017 21:49:29
Philips needs to be sent out on loan

1.) 16 Aug 2017 05:10:44
Pointless. He is pretty much the player he's going to be. From what I've seen of him, he tends to struggle in home fixtures as away side load midfield and get men behind the ball. I can see Klich and Vieira coming into the reckoning now.

2.) 16 Aug 2017 09:55:59
I have to disagree on this. I think Phillips has a huge role to play this year at Leeds. Yes he gets criticism from us, including me, for his distribution. But with the way I think TC likes to play, he doesn't want 2 holding players, but instead wants one of the CMs to join the attack. If you then look at the players we have, I don't think we have anyone who does this job better than Phillips at the moment. Yes Vieira is a better all round CM, but is more of an 'enforcer' and breaks up the play brilliantly. Bridcutt is defensive and Klich is unknown at the moment. We should be getting behind ALL players, but always seem to have scapegoats ready (Cooper and Phillips) . Anyway was a good point yesterday, and let's hope for the same performance against Sunderland. MOT

3.) 16 Aug 2017 10:33:09
Rubbish, agree Viera and Phillips should be rotated but he does the job he is asked to do, unlike Wood shall we send him out on loan. I did not see the game but stats gave him a seven. Klitch should play a part but no one knows how well he will do. Midfield places still to be sorted but it is a team game and to say Phillips is not good enough is delusional.

10 Aug 2017 10:04:09
With Green not even making the bench last night, can we assume the rumours are true and he's off to Sunderland?

1.) 10 Aug 2017 10:57:17
He was injured. MM

2.) 10 Aug 2017 12:19:31
MM. I think that is 'injured'

3.) 10 Aug 2017 13:40:43
Wow, sorry Speedy and thanks for correcting my grammar! However, I was referring to last night (as in the past tense) hence claiming he was injured. He might have recovered now so I'll stick with my original post as being correct. Thank you. Yours sincerely MM :-)

4.) 10 Aug 2017 14:24:04
I believe Speedy is correct

5.) 10 Aug 2017 14:55:36
Missing my point MM. I mean "injured" . Not necessarily injured!

6.) 10 Aug 2017 15:33:55
I got it first time again speedie. Think we should date? Unusual for mm! to be bit slow off the mark! But

7.) 10 Aug 2017 16:47:45
Sorry Speedy, having a blonde moment. Come on Mick, keep up old son! MM

8.) 10 Aug 2017 17:50:46
No worries MM. We've all been there. And kind offer Aussie. Are flights provided? And will there be a didgeridoo ?

Calm down, folks. Hopefully TC learned a lot from that game. Fair enough, you'd have thought he might have learned from the Preston game which players hide from a physical battle, but, he'll get it.

nope. 5 points is enough, on appeal with the FA's current scoring system. Just has to have played in equivalent champions league type competition for his current club. National team appearances scores more points and isn't contested.

and the inevitable down-vote from our resident Doncaster Rovers lurker. Might want to check into Toshiya Fujita, what with him being our chief scout in Asia, being Japanese and stating Orta has briefed him to identify young Japanese talent. It won't be a first-team player. Might be about to announce a tie-up with a Japanese feed club. Might be signing a Japanese kid for the under-23s. Won't be anyone for the first team.

Shunta Nakamura
Takefusa Kubo
Probably going to be a talented Japanese kid for the under 23s

I don't think we had much fluidity with Wood in this setup, to be honest. Lone striker centre-forwards should get way more than three assists in a season if they're doing it right.

Sacko is a new signing. Well, technically.

Yes, it's just five games played but we can see things taking shape. These lads still have yet to gel and adapt to each other's game. They're getting the basics right and they're working hard for each other. I can only see performances improving. Performance today wasn't perfect and we've been lucky some of the mistakes weren't punished. TC will be working on those I'm sure.

Question is less for Leeds than it is Dallas. I'd hope he's offered a two-year deal but if we're offering no deal or he doesn't like what has been offered, it could be a sign he wants the security of a longer contract elsewhere. Let's be honest, he's certainly been putting himself in the shop window lately.

Completely agree with most of that. I'd point out Wood was pretty useful defending at corners but, as a centre-forward bringing others into the game, pretty rubbish. Dude can't link plays.
