Kalvin Phillips training with first team.Adryan is Batty and Alan Smith reincarnated.

Dr.T

1.) Adryan is playing Monday u21's, awaiting inter clearage on del fab and mont .
If anyone can get along a report would be excellent .

2.) Dr.T

Is that Adryan is batty? Or Adrian is as good as David Batty and one or other of the Smiths combined? Alan I hope if that's the case

Cellino seeking clarification re Stewart deal as we are currently under embargo. 18 full pros at least 5 of whom are unwanted. Hack away Hockaday.

Dr.T

1.) Under embargo? what's that all about we paid our debts and bank was unfrozen

2.) Martyn_g yeah we are under a transfer embargo due to the winding up petition but that is set to be lifted by Monday at the latest

3.) The winding up petition was dropped on Monday gone by the courts so any embargo will have automatically been dropped at the same time

4.) There is an embargo.

No coach but then again there aren't any players yet. Signings will be down to someone else. I understand that the club are receiving advice on football matters from a number of people. The manager is already in place.

Dr.T

1.) No Coach no players seems like same old same old to me

2.) Surely can't be hard to find decent manager, is it the pennies he's worried about?

3.) The manager is in place? Who is it then some guy who trains kids or someone else who's managing a conference side. I said a while ago our first signing would be a statement of intent wether it's a player or a manager and if this is as high as we're aiming then I for one think we will struggle to finish mid table next season. Let's raise the bar and go for it with quality that want to play for the badge not some other nobody who's willing to give it a go.

4.) The manager is Massimo Cellino!

5.) 12 Jun 2014 18:22:38
Cellino just needs a good coach, who can set up the team. His mate from Italy can sign the players & has the reputation to bring in the quality names we need.
We need to trust this guy, he's got a track record of doing a quality job with 12k attendances. If we all get behind the team & turn up on mass, we will be going places!

6.) DrT
I'd be highly shocked if MC hasn't already got the players he wants lined up, the new coach WILL NOT be picking the players he wants, his job will be to coach the players brought in for him ;)

7.) Yeah I have heard the tea lady is set to clinch a deal this week

05 Jun 2014 22:25:14
MC has sold Cagliari without the associated assets which may mean he retains rights to playing staff.

Dr.T

1.) 05 Jun 2014 23:13:19
Ha ha ha so basically he has sold a club house for 42 million dream on mate players registered to calgiari so they are calgiari assets that's why he has sold for 42 millions because of players

2.) 05 Jun 2014 23:15:31
According to cellino 3 are to be interviewed Saturday so no approaches to anyone

3.) 06 Jun 2014 11:09:14
The sale to the Americans was for 84mil euros with associated assets. He sold yesterday for 43mil. what else can be worth 41mil euros, Player registration works differently in Italy. 43mil buys you a franchise in Serie A and a ground with planning permission and a training complex. Its a dam sight more than he got when he bought Leeds.

4.) Really silly post, football don't work like that, great if it did though, I would like to buy Barca please but don't worry I don't want Messi. who would play for the club. so many problems with this post

05 May 2014 11:27:09
Apologies to RMC everyone as he states he will never leave and will honour his present contract

Dr.T

1.) He has to honour his contract, if i'm not mistaken he did put pen to paper NOT so long ago ;)

2.) Think you'll find that a contract in football is as good as toilet paper .
I think if Mc D goes then Ross will use that as an excuse to go to the premier .
He has done really well and had it not been for him we would be down of that I'm sure, but I'm not convinced he will or would do as well in prem up against fast defenders week in and out .
look at bec at Norwich! he can't even get off subs bench how many goals did he score

3.) Regardless of McDermott going or staying if cellino doesn't agree to sell Ross then i'm afraid he won't be going anywhere

4.) Cynical lot

5.) Think it's a massive boost that our best player is showing faith in our club, pity we didn't have more players like that

6.) Think he said he wouldn't ask to leave, would only leave if club accepted offer

7.) Football contracts are loaded in favour of the employee. Players or managers can't be sacked however poorly they perform, but the player or manager don't feel obliged to honour them.

8.) Big difference between Ross and Beccio. Ross has a lot more skill. he is a scorer as well as a provider. can't compare the two

9.) 06 May 2014 07:29:32
He didn't say he would never leave, he said he would never ASK to leave, great news, BUT why does he keep bringing it up all the time? I think he is putting it out there that if a club makes an offer and its accepted its he clubs fault for accepting, don't get me wrong the lads quality, but it just makes me suspicious. MOT

10.) "look at bec at Norwich! he can't even get off subs bench how many goals did he score"

I think you'll find he can't even get ON to the subs bench these days.

11.) Saying and doing are 2 different things.
But staying that, I don't think he will have to ask to leave. If a bid of £6m+ comes in for him they will accept it. Just hope the club reinvest the whole amount into the team, as it certainly needs it.

12.) I live in Essex (no I don't sound like a plastic cockney)so I don't get to see as many games as you guys so I bow to your better knowledge .
I rely on this forum for info and your opinion on games, players etc.
Many top scoring strikers(champ) have failed to make there mark in the prem .
As for Bec at Norwich to be honest I have not watched them as late, so I consider my self corrected!

13.) Regarding players contracts being useless!

The contracts are as strong as the club to whom the player is contracted to, look at Saurez in pre-season trying to push a move to arsenal.
Liverpool stood strong, showed they wanted him to stay and he had NO option but to honour his contract.

14.) Answer to AndMOT:. only because arsenal came in with a 40mil and 1 pound offer to trigger his get out clause, which liverpool thought was taking the mickey. now if arsenal came in with a 45-50mill. he'd be playing for arsenal by now. its just when the time is right.

15.) 06 May 2014 20:09:31
Reading have released a statement that mcanuff, ligertwood and gorks are it renewing there contracts and will be free agents at the end of the season! I can see BMCD going for 2 of them if he ends up staying as manager!

16.) A.S
You said £40+ mill was enough to trigger a get out clause WHY didn't he go?
If the clause was triggered in his contract (as you stated above) he was free to talk to Arsenal?
Liverpool said YOUR GOING NOWHERE youve got a contract and your staying, Saurez had NO option but to honour the contract he signed.
If a players got a contract and the club want him to stay NOTHING the player can do but to honour it.

17.) The Suarez case shows that you guys make the same mistake as Suarez's own agent.
The 40 million Arsenal bid was enough to trigger a clause whereby the player was then allowed to speak to the prospective buying club. the clause was not a break point at which Liverpool had to accept the bid as Suarez and his gent had understood.
At any point, Suarez could have put in a transfer request and a potential bidding war may have started to increase the price but, Liverpool didn't really want to sell and were not compelled to accept any offer. Suarez is a proven goal-scorer.
However, Suarez did NOT put in a transfer request as this would have jeapordised the 'loyalty' bonuses written into his contract. This is the same reason that Wayne Rooney would continually bleat about wanting to leave Man U through his agent but, would never actually force the situation himself by requesting a transfer as the club could then withhold a payment of x million for his continued loyalty (not handing in a transfer request).
Ross can say what he likes to the press but, if a concrete offer comes in from a respected mid-table Prem club, he'll be hoping the club accept though would probably not say so publicly for fear of both the fans backlash and missing out on 'loyalty' payments.
There is simply no room for loyalty in football.

18.) Didnt I just say that in far less words?

Personally I would prefer the seven year old to sour faced gurner Tony Mowbray.

Dr.T

1.) Agreed - we've all been saying it's time to give youth a chance and he's promised what cellino wants! ;)

2.) So the new coach has to look like Beckham for you to want him . Despite the fact he's already won the championship with Brum, and been Scottish Manager of the year with Hibs a club outside of Rangers and Celtic and served a good coaching apprenticeship with Ipswich . Boro gave him no money and he had to get rid of Strachan's expensive signings . He ticks nearly all the boxes except in your eyes his looks .

His name is Bryan, he's Paraguyan, his name is Bryan.

Dr.T

1.) Brilliant! lol

How about. His name is Sam Byram, he knows a Paraguyan, who's name is Bryan, does Sam Byram.

MM

2.) Like it, presumably to the tune of Copacabana . "his name is Bryan, he's Paraguyan, when he's flying down the wing, you can hear the South Stand/Gelderd sing" rinse and repeat!

A lot to be said for leaving things as they are for the time being.A lot of young players need bedding in and getting fit, making friends.Redders will do things quietly. Personally, Gary Mac for me was a great coach but a poor manager.lovely to hear him talk to players.Any player needing a rocket can go stand outside MC"s office.Between huge three of them I think they could produce fantastic players.

Dr.T

1.) Agree leave redders for time being, not sure he is the one to take us up but is safe hands for now and can go back to doing what he does best (youth) if results are not great after a while. really hope and pray gary mac only ever vists leeds as a pundit or fan. we don't know how he was as a coach just knew when in charge he was poor. not one for going backwards but if we do go backwards it has to be simon grayson and no one else larry was the one who took us up becuase he was the best. why go for someone who wasnt the best that we had? larry or someone new. not getting leeds with the best squad pomoted from league one is not good enough for where we are now. that said loved gary mac as a player. great players often make poor coaches/managers

03 Sep 2014 15:32:23
Our manager and his assistant had a fantastic window.Great deals done.Thank God he has a financial interest in the club or someone might come in for him.
The best coach for Leeds already works for the club.

Dr.T

1.) The more I think about it, the more I'd give Redders a go. He's Leeds through & through, he's developing gems in the Academy & he's working for us already.
The only caveat, is that if it doesn't work out, he gets demoted & not sacked. MOT

2.) With redders think it is too early to say. personally I would give him five to ten games and see how things go. I would have him back as youth team if it doesn't work out as no1. not sure he should get job but think he deserves a chance

3.) IMO I think he should be left in charge of the kids. Putting Redders in the front line for 5-10 games just creates more uncertainty amongst the squad. I would like MC to go all out for Steve Clarke, if not him then a coach that the squad knows is the permanent coach, or is until MC decides to swing the axe!

4.) 03 Sep 2014 21:21:48
I think there genuine reasons for giving Redders a chance.

1. He will give the kids a chance

2. He knows the club and the traditions

3. The change in the team last week payed instant dividends both in style of play and result. Not the best performance overall but massive improvement

4. He could instigate another O'Leary's babes type situation.

He is not manager material but he knows that himself but there is no doubt he is a good coach.

Having said all that, there is one thing though. I'm not buying this "i'm confused" rubbish. What's that all about? If there is one person who knows exactly what he is doing in all this it is MC.

5.) MC says he is confused about the number of coaches contacting him regarding the vacancy. I hope that he has his salt pot well out of the way when choosing from the multitude. There won't be a decision this week as he's away in the States but I just hope that he ring. fences the money from Smiths sale to get a decent manager/coach and then commit to that choice and put his trigger finger away so that a team can be built to move us forward. I can see us lurching from one unknown poor choice to another over the next couple of years and we need some stability.

I agree that Redders would be of most benefit to the club not being head coach and therefore not under constant pressure of being fired, saying that who in their right mind would want to work under those conditions unless they're just there for a quick pay day.

6.) All managers work under that pressure any coach loses 4 out of five would be under pressure its the way with every job. if that was the case no one would manage. only job you can win one in six and be ok is the england job it would seem

Smith move has been in the offing for weeks.Cellino doesn't fancy the big lump forward, no offence. We missed out on one last night as we failed to move out dead wood. Aiming for a squad of 25. We're currently in the 30's with up to 10 with no real prospect of playing. If these boys are the best prospects that Salerno has on radar we might yet have the best squad in the championship.Let's see.
