Wow, that performance tonight sent a message out, not only to us loyal supporters but also to the rest of the league, we may not have been at full strength but you would never have known, massive credit to monk, as he said in his interview after the Cambridge game he trusts all his players .

beradi and coyle have had to wait patiently in the background (I know coyle was injured) . but boy have they shown there commitment to the cause when selected, last yr the atmosphere was toxic, now it's all positive. nice to sit back on Saturday knowing we have done our job and watch the results roll in. #mot

Has anyone else heard anything re Ross Mcormack coming back to leeds on loan till the end of the season, a fellow leeds fan mentioned this to me when I was at Preston away and I laughed it off, I was speaking to a villa fan yesterday and he said a few roumours there that he will probably leave and leeds has been mentioned? . would people be happy or unhappy if this happened

Id have him in a shot, for footballing reasons, not forgetting what he did for leaving. Find it almost impossible for it to happen though

2.) 12 Jan 2017 21:15:08
I did see an article a few weeks back saying the same FW, I laughed it off as well. Villa supposedly wanted to loan him out to get fit again after injury, not sure where the link to us came from. don't think it matters anyway, pretty certain he is getting games again since he scored the other week so guessing its off the table.

. can anyone tell me why bridcutt is in between the 2 centre backs all the feel time? . because he is so deep Hernandez is dropping deeper and deeper to collect the ball and try make things happen, so frustrating watching yesterday's game, we are really guilty of starting games slow and letting the opposition get a foot hold in the game, why we didn't come out and have a real go at them right from the first minute is baffling, we hardly get any players in the box through out most games, let's be honest, we have been relying heavily on set pieces this season for goals, the only time we got gehind them was when sacko came on, he must start Tuesday. I aren't overly concerned at losing bridcutt, apart from the derby county game I don't think he's been great, we played a lot higher up the pitch as a team whilst he was out injured. sure that will divide opinion

Couldn't agree more. More or Leeds word for word my thoughts. My mate and I couldn't understand the Bridcutt position. At Udders Incould understand and although it ain't pretty it nearly pulled off. But at Home? We have Good attacking players, so why do we insist they play as defensive midfielders and home to score from a set piece or counter?

26 Jan 2017 08:29:37
Good 2nd half from us, only slight negative is how isolated wood is most of the game, Pablo seems to drop deeper by the game to pick the ball up, we really could do with a midfielder chipping in with a few goals, thought bridcutt had his best game so far this season, o Kane as expected after a lay off was a bit off the pace in my opinion. sacko back will boost us, even if it's off the bench for last 20 or so, fingers crossed now on the transfer front

Frustrated? The way this season's going, I think you will have to be changing your name soon ;)

2.) 26 Jan 2017 12:22:21
Agreed! . might have to go with optimistic !

3.) 26 Jan 2017 18:01:13
We already have optimistic Danny frus! Although not seen him on here for a while, how about Estatic! 😂 😎

4.) 26 Jan 2017 18:55:59
mildly hopeful white?

5.) 27 Jan 2017 11:29:58
Mowatt wasnt that in the 3rd round lucas. I think he likes to be a star in a team but this year and some of last year is only a bit part player, so not as good. He will never be prem worthy so. Time to go.

I know wood isn't everyone's fav player on this site, he's certainly been one of mine this season, it will be interesting to see how we do without him this season, to get the goals he has (mainly feeding on scraps, in my opinion, is no mean feat) . he occupies 2 centre backs on his own most games, who do we think monk will start up top, Doulara, Roofe or Antonnson, I have my concerns about all for different reasons but hopefully one of them can bag and we can get a 1-0 win and maintain momentum. sounds like we could have just about everyone available for Preston away which will be nice!

1.) 16 Dec 2016 08:21:34
I'm going to let stats rule my eyes as far as wood is concerned. Not quite sure how he does it. But! I would play roofe and ant up front.

2.) 16 Dec 2016 09:42:29
He's a striker, his job is to score goals and he is. He's a number 9 and give him constant supply he will score. He's not prolific in the fact he will score 3 from 3, but if he is in the right place, well that's a start. I thought we lost our shape big time on Tuesday when he went off, so we need a plan B.

3.) 16 Dec 2016 13:13:42
Woody has been mighty this season - he will be a big miss and I hope he returns in the same form very soon. I would maybe have the Douk as the lone frontman in his stead although it'd be interesting to see how Ant does with a bit of a run in the team. Roofe for me is better at no.10.

4.) 16 Dec 2016 16:08:24
You like lone strikers alf?

5.) 16 Dec 2016 16:57:59
We are not strong enough in midfield to play 4-4-2. Antonnson struggles to play the lone striker role as he is not physically strong enough to battle against 2 centre backs.

6.) 16 Dec 2016 19:35:58
Notts So what is your suggestion against the Bees? 433?

7.) 16 Dec 2016 21:35:48
Got a feeling tomorrow's the game we get a hatful, 4 or 5-1.

8.) 17 Dec 2016 02:47:00
If Antonsson is fit then keep the reg formation (4-4-2 we keep trying and it keeps failing) with him ST Roofe AM (assuming Hernandez isn't ready to make a surprise comeback) with the two swapping to keep the opposition defenders guessing who they should be marking (Both have good movement so it should create holes to run into) . We lack power without Wood so make the pace count. As for Douk, playing so much better out wide, leave him out there.

9.) 17 Dec 2016 05:22:51
Gummie you are spot on.

05 Dec 2016 22:44:48
What one player would you all realistically like us to sign in the January transfer window, excluding the ones we already have on loan, I really like the look off sone Aluko at Fulham, faster than sacko and has a lot better vision/end product. he's been fulhams best player by a mile this season. be interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

Frustrated white

1.) 06 Dec 2016 02:10:05
The problem with your question is what are we considering as 'realistically' right now? If we get to Jan challenging for automatic or just outside the playoffs, has the 50% take over gone through and how much gets injected, these things make a big difference. For me if we are in or around and serious then Defoe would be attainable and huge, all be it a massive stretching of resources. Everton want to offload Lennon so a 6 month loan to buy if we go up maybe? he would want to stay prem side but might just drop down for his home town club if we look like we are on the up. Cheaper option wise Leicester are keen to loan out Kapustka, can play anywhere across mid or attacking mid, Arsenal want to loan out Akpom and Sanogo.

2.) 06 Dec 2016 07:16:22
It's not a problem question Gummie, even if we only pick up 3 points from now till 1st of Jan we are going to be just outside the play offs with all to play for.

3.) 06 Dec 2016 08:56:35
Peter cxouch something totally different, get them balls in.

4.) 06 Dec 2016 10:52:57
Charlie Adam Good vision and steel in midfield
Also shoots from the half way line every game.

5.) 06 Dec 2016 11:47:17
Nathan Dyer, not getting much game time at Swansea and we need another winger. Another one of Monk's mates who'd be happy to come here.

6.) 06 Dec 2016 14:18:06
I would love us to go for somebody like Tom Ince but would have to pay a hefty fee for him. Realistically what about Henri Lansbury? contract runs out at the end of he year?

7.) 06 Dec 2016 14:20:36
That "Shy" streaker from the Villa game, showed good pace without shoes to evade the chasing stewards.

8.) 06 Dec 2016 16:31:54
I go for the streaker too lol. Think dyer is a great shout and lansbury. Not sure we need adam and crouch would be a step backwards as he's no better than wood, too old . Get the cheque book out for Assombalonga imo . Forget rhodes, he's so last year. Maybe we could get wells from the dog botherers that would be nice.

9.) 06 Dec 2016 21:11:18
agree hard to call, defoe and crouch no chance they are stayingin prem (definatly defoe) I think lennon and dyer are good calls and think possible, but impossible to tell at this point budget and targets.

10.) 06 Dec 2016 21:11:55
oh. oh. oh I got it how about alan smith he ain't been mentioned for at least a few weeks.

11.) 07 Dec 2016 04:50:59
Lancaster That is so funny. Had to read twice. Not sure if it was meant as a joke. Crouch no better than wood? My tummys hurting. Good point BW about smith. Haven't thought about him.

12.) 07 Dec 2016 23:21:56
Pains me to say it aus but I think wood would do better than crouch for the rest of this season in the championship.

What do fellow leeds fans think to grimes and mowatt last night?

Frustrated white

1.) 26 Oct 2016 18:08:01
They must be shot forthwith.

2.) 26 Oct 2016 18:49:26
Mowatt needs to go out on loan if it is thought he has potential if he hasn't he needs to go, permanently, as quickly as possible. He wasn't all bad last night but we need better. I don’t know about Grimes. I saw him when he was younger and as far as potential went he was up there with the Cooks, Taylors, Byrams etc. Better in some respects. However, like Mowatt, he now looks poor. Monk might think he can get him back to where he should be but unless you know what’s happened to him it’s hard to call. Keep him here and he doesn’t improve it’s a waste of money and a place for one our youngsters. Let him go back and he shines somewhere else we could have missed a gem.

3.) 26 Oct 2016 20:26:10
Apart from the pen miss I thought Grimes did ok last night, I think ER is a difficult place when the fans are not totally on your side we should give aĺl the lads our support when they wear the shirt and try to give their best.

4.) 26 Oct 2016 20:55:37
I agree Hess. I saw grimes twice last season and thought he was a very good prospect. Unlike some i'm prepared to give the lad a chance. As for last nights game. Last season we would of lost that 3 or 4 nil after that first half hour. We've come bundles since then. MOT.

5.) 26 Oct 2016 21:00:06
Well said Billy I couldn't agree more. ER can be hard at times for younger players.

Pretty sure the forest game is getting moved now, bringing him on with 20 seconds to go might have been classed as 'clever management' as you put it.

How can you say sacko was a waste of time, he was the only player who got in behind them all game and looked like creating anything at all, plus with Pablo dropping deeper he was his best outlet when he had the ball.

If we are to remain in the top 6 and reach the playoffs, I reckon we are probably going to need 8-10 more goals out of wood, and hope others get a few, pedeaza might be a good option for the number 10 role once Pablo tires in games.

Agree cork, they had so many options going forward, there movement and the pace at which they play when attacking caused ourselves and Brighton big problems, in comparison you see wood up top for us and he's so isolated, Pablo has gone off the boil a bit for me, I expected more goals from him, we are almost relying on him for great set piece delivery at the moment, that extra striker monk was after was the one sub we didn't have to put on with 20 to go.
