If Grot is 'one for the future' and deemed good enough to warrant chances in the first team, how good or otherwise are the other 'ones for the future' who are not considered to be good enough to get any playing time? Recruitment thus far, with the exception of Saiz, has been poor to say the least. Are any of them better than the ones we let go; Taylor, Green, Wood, Bartley and Bridcutt?

The club/manager allowed better players to leave. With the players we have now we need a motivational coach not a tactical genius. A coach who can get the very best from an average or in some cases poor group of players. The likes of Big Sam spring to mind but doubt he would entertain it. I see a relegation fight and yes I had my doubts at the start of the season but was pleasantly surprised. Worse set of results I can remember.

Welcome Giles. The manager didn't allow anyone to leave, because he's the coach. Orta is the man with the flan.

2.) 05 Nov 2017 17:18:17
Brightwhite, I'd say it's more a quiche than a flan, as he only buys foreign players! 😁😁

3.) 06 Nov 2017 16:31:12
Lol danum! We need some pies then!

02 Nov 2017 19:34:01
We shouldn't be surprised at the poor performances when the club hires a manager whose only experience is in the Cypriot league who then allows the 'spine' of a relatively successful team to leave, including 3 internationals, the player of the year and the club captain. Bartley and Wood probably of his control but Green and Bridcutt shouldn't have been released. None were adequately replaced. Grot, Wiedwald are very poor, Alioski, Klich and Lasogga not much better, no idea about Cubicki and still have doubts about Philips. I can't believe some people are suggesting Albania's top scorer will improve the team on his return from injury!

Didn’t see you having a pop when we were winning🙄

2.) 02 Nov 2017 20:07:22
Well said Peacock!

3.) 02 Nov 2017 20:43:41
Bang on peacock. Have faith in TC keep us in the chase a couple of signings in January. It's early doors and another 7 months to go

4.) 02 Nov 2017 20:47:21
Think your forgetting about TCs action in the Europa League

5.) 02 Nov 2017 20:58:14
Don't they come out of the woodwork when it's not going so good! Go back to the dark side giles

6.) 02 Nov 2017 21:03:30
That's because I haven't posted anything before! Anyway, what do you disagree with?

7.) 03 Nov 2017 04:35:02
Everything really Wood was average at best
Taylor wanted to go
Bridcutt not good enough
Green probably should of kept. All will come good as we are rebuilding

8.) 03 Nov 2017 07:14:33
Green is an antique some seem to forget he didn't start last season so good

9.) 03 Nov 2017 09:02:57
Welcome Giles - bit of a harsh reception to your first post and you do have some decent points about us not back filling for positions. I think Lasogga is certainly good enough but needs decent service, we didn't adequately replace the goalkeeper or left back or centre back though. not sure about how much of as loss Bridcutt was but we definitely need to see more from his potential replacements. we need some steel in front of the back 4 - I say play Nessy there.

10.) 03 Nov 2017 09:50:47
Yeah
Id have kept taylor. He has longevity at top level. Green past it. Bridcutt bloody awful. Wood flatters to decieve. Thought we stuck viera in midfield for bit of bite and back four protection. That dosent seem to be enough. Now we want shaun and viera protecting back 4. How about the back four doing their job properly and learning how to defend and pass forward accurately.

11.) 03 Nov 2017 11:20:55
You couldn't have kept Taylor he was out of contract and wanted to go

12.) 03 Nov 2017 12:02:44
Welcome Giles May not agree with you, but welcome anyway. Fact - TC is our manager so let's support him all the way until he is no longer our manager. As for playing staff we do not know what control he has over the comings and goings. Every acquisition is a gamble. I have seen far more expensive players with far bigger reputations fall flat on their face when moving to a new club/country. So may I recommend patience. Some of us are baying for instant success and with the best will in the world, with a limited budget, it's not always possible. There are the corpses of many a manager strewn by the wayside to prove that. Quite a few owners with burnt fingers also. i hate to say Brentford is a (cliche warning! ) must win game but a good win, or even a good performance from every player and a creditable draw will show that we are turning the corner and the team have spirit and are still playing for the manager. It is only him and his staff that are privy to the dressing room and training pitch so let us have faith and remember, MOT.

13.) 03 Nov 2017 13:22:23
Wagner did not have the best first season in charge of Huddersfield but spent time developing a style of play and identifying those players who suited the system he wanted to play. Therefore I can see the merits of remaining patient. However I am interested to understand at what point posters on here will change their viewpoint (what would it take) . Leodis preaches patience and then says that the Brentford match is a must win game. If we lose will Leodis change his opinion ?

14.) 03 Nov 2017 13:55:33
I doubt at any point of hudds season they lost Yes lost. 6-7!
I will be so happy to alllow brentford to be 1 point below us. I don't know what is a matter with a lot of posters on here. I don't undestand how this form and results is tolerable. Is it patience or lack of ambition? I like TC. But the results are not good enough and he is responsible. History will show as many successes as failures by changing manager. Start winning or goodbye.

15.) 03 Nov 2017 14:49:05
Bad runs and off form are part and parcel of being a Leeds fan. I wonder Aus why you don't call for Radz head seeing as he appointed TC

16.) 03 Nov 2017 15:03:56
If players are out of contract you can't force them to stay giles, if players want to leave what's the point in keeping them and as for Christianson every coach starts somewhere and he does have European experience. Every manager has bad runs. One word giles FERGIE

17.) 03 Nov 2017 16:48:24
Welcome Giles, I do agree43 with most of your post we should have gone all out for Bark, kept Green as for the others Taylor wanted to go and so did Wood . Personally would like to see as invest in proven gk with Lonners as back up and proven striker Lassie good but does not do enough when with out ball, I also think we need cover on both l/b and r/b.

18.) 03 Nov 2017 16:54:32
My 2p ; TC is not responsible for transfer activity, in or out. Bartley was crazily overpriced for a championship purchase. Taylor was out of contract, and clearly wanted to leave. We would have been utter mugs to turn down that cash for Wood, who, before last season, was largely a waste of space in the eyes of most fans. As others have said, Lasogga need the right service, and he will deliver. We do need an out and out left back in Jan. That is all.

I wonder who the agents are behind all the 'ones for the future' signings and how much they are making from these deals?

Wow, not THE Abdul-Basit Agouda, 18 year old Norwegian footballer who plays as a forward for Strømsgodset in Eliteserien! Just what we need!

We are like the England team. A bit shit now because we're building for the future! Only problem is, the future never seems to become the present for these two!

If a manager chooses to put a player on the pitch, we, as part of a 'team', should support them. Everyone, regardless of your line of work, responds better to praise and encouragement as opposed to what is tantamount to bullying! Management however are a different case!
