Well we're 11/4 favourites to win the league without the top 2, ie the bookies fancy us to come third and they aren't often wrong . I'd take that but wouldn't give up hope on the automatic yet!

I'd happily have the season finish right now to confirm play offs. Who thinks we'd sell out at wembley

2.) 25 Jan 2017 13:37:09
we'd sell out our allocation at wembley 3 times over

3.) 25 Jan 2017 19:39:02
Unfortunately alf we would only get one lot of allocation and we ain't at Wembley yet but keep the fingers and pinkies crossed.

4.) 26 Jan 2017 15:36:55
dont think my heart could handle another play off

5.) 26 Jan 2017 17:51:30
Third time lucky?

Think we should all give mc a break for now . I mean what are we really expecting of him? I think, and hope he'll sign three quality players this summer. I don't think he's stupid, and, as has already been pointed out, it'll be a bit of a weaker league. If just one player comes in and has a foristieri type impact, ie turning draws into wins and losses into draws we won't be far away . Think of some of the daft points we gave away late in games this season . Think where we'd have been with foristieri. Over to you my Italian friend. ( hope your humour and positivity returns soon George . There is good in you I'm sure . Search your feelings, the force is with you my friend ).

Thank you Lancaster. I decided to try and feel calmer and lighten up on Massimo for awhile. Plus Wex the therapist has been helping also Berm has been sensitive. Ask Speedyg!

I've come to realize that travelling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops.

2.) 22 May 2016 11:45:18
I agree guys, we have to back off MC, the mans a bit crazy but he isn't stupid . He's put £43m of his own money into Leeds and sorted a lot of the deadwood out, like he said now he can concentrate on football matters . So let's get behind him ( UNITED ) for this season and let's see what happens.

3.) 23 May 2016 20:41:29
Actually the last thing we need right now is any kind of break?

We should already have a new coach lined up or at least Evans confirmed for next season and new players being chased.

. oh, no, maybe we should JUST stick our head in the sand again?

Fantastic result today, finally some daylight between us and seventh.

1.) 27 Dec 2016 10:01:31
Derby will probably win today so gap will be closed again. The Owl's proved yesterday that the Magpies aren't untouchable. Just need Brighton to go on a wobble. We shouldn't fear anyone in this league, players coming back from injury and the future looks white.

2.) 27 Dec 2016 10:59:56
Well, I have to say that that result was somewhat unexpected, I was hoping for us to get thru Christmas just undefeated but yesterday was fantastic . over the moon Garry :)

I think the day of the traditional big centre forward type is old fashioned now, the game has moved on. The likes of chapman, andy Carroll etc are no longer really suitable to the modern game, maybe for a desperate ten mins if you need a goal so launch the ball in there to them.

But strikers like aguero and suarez for example who are much more mobile and hardworking are the future and the present. Leodis makes a great point as roofe could play this role perfectly for us with hernandez as no. ten. Cumbersome centre halves wouldn't be able to live with this and would end up with twisted blood. I would try this and bring on wood as a battering ram for last fifteen if need be.

1.) 01 Dec 2016 18:01:24
Wood has bagged 12 goals this season, what more does he have to do to convince?

2.) 01 Dec 2016 20:20:41
The day we sign Aguero or Suarez I would support the decision to drop Wood, whilst we are a championship side with only one guy scoring i'm with Notts.

3.) 01 Dec 2016 21:25:04
Great replies Notts and Gummie. I can't for the life of me figure out why Wood is getting so much slating. He's already over half way to a 20 goal season target which is a good return at any level and yet he's still getting panned. Beggars belief! MM.

4.) 01 Dec 2016 21:40:30
Sorry Lanc but agree with Gummie and Notts on this one. If you know where an Aguero type striker is going for less than 3 million let MC know otherwise we are stuck with Wood and his paltry 12 goals! As for Roofe he has never been a CF and scored his goals last season as a 10 or sometimes out wide. Apologies for the sarcasm.

5.) 01 Dec 2016 22:31:47
Roofe not scored yet so can't see the logic in dropping Wood for him, we don't have those players (Sergio/biter ) who are world class and also in championship it is good to have a focal point of attack, still interesting opinion White but for me wood is doing the business and roofe still needs to which I hope he will soon (score I mean) . We do need another player who is going to get us goals on a regular basis apart from wood and maybe if roofe scores 1 he will get loads otherwise to keep in top 6 the defense are going to have to keep playing real blinders, small margins in this league as we all know.

6.) 01 Dec 2016 22:45:55
always backed and loved wood, agree with vpost to some extent but the game will always have room for a big guy who can score and woods goals is proof of that.

7.) 01 Dec 2016 23:08:48
Well said Lancaster. Take woods penalties out and his ratio is poor! I don't understand why people stick up for him! He is no where near the standard we will need to challenge and needs dropping immediately. Your version of strikers for present and future is spot on. As is your roofe Hernandez combination.

8.) 01 Dec 2016 23:48:44
Wood is ok for a middle of the table team other than that no. If we want promotion we need better.

9.) 01 Dec 2016 23:49:36
I'll admit last season I didn't rate Wood as I prefer nippy, skillful forwards, however I have altered my opinion this season. His job is to score goals, which is what he is doing. I think someone once said of Lee Chapman, "Yeah he scores goals but he does nothing else! " Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I don't understand players getting stick when they're doing well.

10.) 02 Dec 2016 01:02:27
Seriously Aus, people need to get over the penalty thing. Most No 1 strikers take pens (Dont see anyone having a go at Aguero, Messi or Ronaldo who all do) , but sure if people want prospective, take away Wood's Lg pens and he is still in 6th overall in the top scorers list (You can bet some of the guys above him have scored from the spot too so he may be higher) and averaging a goal every 2.1 games, that comes out at 22 none pen Lg goals for the season at the current rate. With pens and goals he is currently looking at around the 28 mark for the season, rubbish strike rate, sell him in Jan Monkey. If any of the Wood haters know of someone who can outscore that in the championship, on a championship wage, for what we paid for Wood then contact Monk and let him know because he will be ecstatic.

11.) 02 Dec 2016 08:05:55
Agree Gummie he does what he does. The way we play is one up front which means Wood needs to hold up play until support arrives and I think he is doing a bloody good job this season. All some people do is poke at Wood, but for me he is doing exactly what's been asked of him and more. Look at him defending when backs are against the wall, any mention of that, noo. Give the guy a break.

12.) 02 Dec 2016 09:06:24
Don't get me wrong fellas I'm not slating wood, I just think he's punching way above his weight. I know obviously we're not going to get suarez etc but I just think that type of player with quick thought, movement and good touch would serve us much better with the clever passes hernandez will supply. The big centre forward is becoming like the 4 4 2 formation, it's so 1980's!

13.) 02 Dec 2016 17:36:58
Okay He certainly does divide opinion. I am firmly in the more mobile camp. My current favourite (natural) goalscorer is Defoe so anyone who has a good first touch (and a second for that matter) and a nose for a goal will always get my vote.

Yes, you have to pay for quality but from what I have seen this year Roofe has the potential if given a run. We certainly can play our way out of defence so do not need to lump it up to a big CF to hold up. A big CF is always useful to convert crosses with well directed headers (don't you just wish we had one of them? )

To any of those knowledgable of the reserves / U23s can I ask if we have a mobile goalscorer on our books who maybe knocking on the door soon?

Fletcher is a no from me . We have to do better than that . He's a one goal in six games kind of player.

Unfortunately I don't think we've a prayer of landing the scottish figo, maybe if we can make it to the prem. He's top notch and too good for the championship. That said, I'd love him back .

Beradi especially, just doesn't really look up to it and kicks it anywhere at times, and is a red card waiting to happen. Fulham away is very tough, a point would be good there .
