Looks like DelPiero has made himself available by leaving Sydney FC & Sky reporting he's talking to a football league club!

Anyone else made the connection yet?

LufcRoDz

1.) Can somebody tell me why we are being linked with players aged over 35+. do we have a veterens team I don't know about?

2.) Just read story but doesn't say anthing about him speaking to a FL club

3.) Have seen nothing mentioning him talking to a football league club, though have seen he is leaving Sydney, personally think at best he may pursue a player coach role, though whether that is with us is another thing.

4.) 28 Apr 2014 17:46:47
Iv seen this on ssn, it says he is in talks about taking up a coaching at 'the A league' club! Meaning Sydney the 'Hyundai A league club!' Not a football league club

5.) Ahhh I see. well apologies all round . interesting nonetheless!

6.) Did say heed bee good 4leeds

For people wanting a new Manager, would you want a succesfull manager or one who has been sacked for failing? how many succesfull managers are available, I can only think of one!

I want an ambitious manager to be fair.
I feel warnocks age as caught him up and he's become rather cautious.

2.) Do you mean the Mussolini fancier? Well he has been successful and wasn't sacked. It would be entertaining for a while but I don't think he'd be there for the long haul. we'd be on a coundown to when he spat the dummy over something or else.

Maybe think about how McDermott was unfairly sacked (like Adkins) and how he has original ideas about management. Mind you, if there's no money to work with what's the bl**dy point?

3.) GET O'NEIL IN NOW BEFORE HE GOES ELSEWHERE

4.) Didn't Mcdermoot lose most of his games after fluking the playoffs?

Dont want di canio either tbh, we need some stability.

O'neil is recently available, or mclaren who's soon out of contract would be an outside chance?

5.) O'Neil is a proven manager. He has proven skills in motivating players. it didn't work out at Sunderland but, as with the Mighty Whites, we don't always know what goes on behind the scenes and players do need to share responsibility. If players could execute exactly what good, top managers wanted them to do it would be easier to sort the wheat from the chaff. In my opinion O'Neil is a quality manager who has managed and succeeded at a very high level, we could do an awful lot worse, and probably will given our current experience as fans.

MOT

6.) I'd like the new manager to be able to be able to not put too many L's into successful.

7.) I want anyone but Warnock!

8.) The only manager worth having would be MON in my view. He's been a long term target in my view, and timing has always not been in our favour, but maybe this time. Also for me it would be evidence of the intent we here so much about from GFH.

9.) Get McDermott in now, he managed to turn Reading around last season after a poor start to the season and they finished champions, the standard of teams in this league is poor, we've seen it all season that anyone can beat anyone, I understand it would be a tough ask with the current squad but maybe he could come in and galvanise the team and we could win every game from now till the end of the season, who know's,

10.) You need to think harder then

11.) We have a very successful manager Richard Naylor

12.) Whoever comes in, they should get Naylor involved as a number 2 he knows that youth team inside out and could be a real asset to us further down the line.

Bring in a manager to steady the ship and get us playing football again (Promotion should not be the main focus next season, unless we go down!), and let Naylor learn the ropes as his second, so that when the time is right, he can take over the reins and blood in the youngsters.

I think that MC will probably use the AP/Rosler experience as a reason for going back to the European model of Coach instead of Manager, We all to a man were very happy with the way this started out A Pearson, Manager in Rosler, Backroom staff, Coaches and some pretty expensive players (for us) thrown in the mix also ^ for a while it looked to be working nut with AP leaving it seems the experiment has come off the rails, I think Rosler is nowhere near adventurous enough and more than happy to try and settle for a point even from a winning advantage! IF this set up we have now fails and Rosler gets the sack I feel that MC will just use this as a reason to state 'I never wanted to do it the English way but everyone said it has to be this way! well I did it and it didn't work so it's going to be back to the Euro/Coach model? does anyone else feel the same way? I understand the need for stability but when does stability become a liability?

When asked before the game ' what would be the key to winning the game ahead'? The obvious answer would've been to score more than Derby & play better & create more opportunities etc etc . Redfearns answer was 'Workrate' yea right . therein lies the problem again we concentrate more on workrate than actually creating chances & taking them!! inmho.

How many times in the past ew years hae we alol said so & so needs to go after a run of defeats, BMc was on what 19/20 without a win a how many were saying give him time still?
Football is a results based business & like it or not you're only as good as your last result nowadays o ideal I know but Darko seemed to be happy to try to preserve a 1-0 which is fine when it works but when it does'nt you need to chase the victory not settle for a draw, how many of us thought the Murph Substitution was a positive one, not many I reckon & Montenegro coming on with 5+ Mins is no use whatsoever So what MC did was to put right yet another appointment mistake I really do wish he would dispense with the Co roe & purchase some caviar if you catch my drift! still good luck Redders you will need it!

A Multi Billionaire/Millionaire Will want to do things his way and that's the way it should be as he puts up the money chooses how it's used, However there are those who believe that they should T/O the club then throw more money at it and then shut up sit back and let others decide how it's spent! Not a chance nowadays! If whoever comes in and succeds will be popular enough without having to worry as to how the fans react! MC Should've just got on wit and did it his way, if he failed guess what he's unpopular, Succed and he's more than popular! IMHO anyway!

Managers to me are not here to forge a loyalty base with the fans, they are here to do a job with the team to get results, climb the table get promotion, if they are not doing any of those then they are not doing their job, end of, stability comes with winning giving them 20,30,40 games without results is not stability it's stupidity, a recipe for relegation.

it's the owner's perogative to hire and fire as he will be blamed or praised during his tenure. Tyhe fans shout for the sack after acouple of defeats then change after a couple of wins and right now SE's records is not that impressive even if it is an improvement slightly on the field.

I find it hard to actually disagree with any of that, If only he did all of this last year can you imagine the praise he would be getting now instead of the bad press he's received from a lot of fans, arguably justified up to a point! Still credit where credit is due! keep it up Mass'!
