Tinkerman off to Nantes then, would have been surprised if he had joined us.

Still smiling from last night. Two main differences from last year, firstly we have a system with the 4-2-3-1 and secondly we have pace in the team. Therefore even when we have to make changes, players coming in know what they need to do.

Any team struggles against a team playing at a high tempo with pacy options out wide, God knows we've been on the receiving end enough times over the past few seasons. All credit to GM and the coaches. Will still be tough to get in the top 2, but a definite possibility now.

Personally think we should be tapping up our own youth academy at the minute, the place is worth it's its weight in gold. I'm sure there's one or two little gems who haven't quite been unearthed yet. That said, an experienced CB so we don't to endure Cooper anymore would be nice and maybe someone who'll net us 10 to 15 goals with what's left of the season. Dunno about CBs but Jordan Rhodes would be ideal upfront. Cracking performance though Friday, haven't smiled like that for a while, especially when Hernandez was dancing around pitch like he had ballet shoes on then to see Viera and Roofe follow suit was magical. A lot of credit goes to 2 players I has written off, 1st off is Chris Wood, I now no longer hate the guy, he's proven to me that although he can put the ball in the net, it's his link up play upfront with ball into feet that's impressed me. Could win more headers but I'm sure even he knows that, But he's winning them in the right areas when he does so that's not too bad. 2nd is my old pal Duckers (Doukara) , although the Cambridge game seemed beneath him, he's come on leaps and bounds with regards to his overall play going forward. Pace and power and his dribbling is very much improved. I think credit goes to Monk but a good slice of it has to goto Duckers himself who has got his head down and done what's asked of him. Lastly and by no means least, you could offer me Mourinho and Klopp as a partnership tomorrow and I'd turn them down in favour of Monk and Clotet. Just hope he's given benefit of the doubt the day comes where it's not going as well.

Not moaning at all and delighted to be top. Just a bit concerned that we didn't wrap the game up much earlier against a very average team. As regards their goal, when we're facing a free kick, why don't we put a player or two on each post? I know that allows the other team's players the right to go into the box without being offside but surely it must make it a lot harder to score from a set piece as the box will be much more crowded and the goal line covered?

Sounds like a teensy little moanet to me! I think we made them look ordinary . They have quite a reputation for taking teams on at home and we really didn’t let them do it. Two dangerous moments. But you’re right same problem we’ve had for a bit, not burying some of the marginal chances.

Other thing teams are doing is giving our creative players a real kicking, Saiz has always been the target, today hernandez got seriously hacked a few times.

On top of that Hernadez then gets booked for kicking the ball away and Forest did that 3 times and 1 was a player already booked and nothing happened!

Now that’s moaning!

2.) 05 Nov 2018 07:40:41
I’ll take the win and position in the table anyday

Always makes me chuckle when I hear “ yes we won, but we should have done it with more style”

A win, is a win, is a win.

They’re not given away in this league and it’s points ground out that get you promoted.

3.) 05 Nov 2018 15:29:13
Sensible woody, I would hate to go down the "it's not the Spurs, West Ham etc way" win or draw . avoid defeat at all costs is the Leeds way :)

Whisper going round we may be getting Izzy Brown on loan from Chelsea. On loan at Brighton last season but been out since January as he tore his cruciate but helped dog botherers get promotion the season before.

Interesting, as I said above, if you are a player at a premier side, not getting any kind of chance, what a great opportunity.

2.) 12 Aug 2018 11:09:34
I like Brown he is quality, especially at this level. We missed a trick under Monkman when he was playing really well in a poor Rotherham side and T'Taarn picked him up and he helped them get promoted. He would be a good addition to the squad.

Just looking at who we've bought in since the start of the season compared to who has moved on. If you grade the incomers as green, where there's an improvement on what we had, amber where they may turn out to be as good but not sure yet, and red where they are not an improvement or worse, you could say (with roughly similar players who've moved on alongside) Green: Saiz (Murphy) Amber: Alioski (Doukara) , Pennington Red: Lonergan (Silvestri) , Wiedwald (Green) , Lasogga (Wood) , Anita and Borthwick-Jackson (Taylor) , Klich (Bridcutt) , Cibicki (Diogouraga) . Haven't included Grot as I don't think he should be in the 1st team but may develop in U23s. You may disagree with the categories for one or two but it doesn't make good reading. Therefore I can't see why we should finish any higher than last season unless we recruit well during the next fortnight. I know the powers that be would rather make most of their signings in the summer when there's generally better value, but the risk is that the few top players we do have may be enticed away by someone with deeper pockets and big ambitions in the short, rather than longer term.

Mark Chingontogether

1.) 14 Jan 2018 20:13:26
With the money we paid can we even say we got value? Klich was 3 mill wasn’t he and he barely plays.

2.) 14 Jan 2018 20:46:39
Klich was 1.5 million

3.) 14 Jan 2018 22:16:17
Klich £1.5m, Sacko £1.7m, Grot £1m at least. We could have got a decent player with these wasted transfer fees

4.) 15 Jan 2018 09:32:09
Sacko signing mystified me at the time - we already saw how lamentable he was the previous season and yet we still spent good money on him. I assumed at the time this was because the coaching team were confident they could get a tune out of him but he just looks hopeless every time he plays.

07 Jan 2018 14:59:41
Another waste of an FA cup run opportunity. Too many of the fringe players are not good enough/don't care enough, or both. Only 2 top class players in the squad, Saiz and Jansson, with a few promising ones, incl Vieira, Coyle, Alioski (still learning about championship) , possibly Philips, though the jury's still out. We are a position 8-10 team by my reckoning and unless we recruit urgently, can see us falling short of the playoffs again this year. Need keeper, left back, consistent midfield schemer and striker as a minimum.

1.) 07 Jan 2018 15:08:21
Not going to happen sadly, TC and co are blinded by the shite! If our club was a movie it would be ground hog day.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 15:29:49
Good post Mezzer, although isn’t Blinded By The Shite a song? Maybe we should sing that instead of Marching on to nowhere!

3.) 07 Jan 2018 15:40:39
Plus another centre half when Pontus has gone in the next 3 week.

So the first team squad loanees this season: In: Bartley, Grimes, Sacko, Pedraza, Barrow Out: Murphy, Botaka, Diagouraga, Erwin Who do you want to see here next season?

Mark Chingontogether

1.) 04 May 2017 18:18:41
Bartley on a permanent, PF loaned out, Pedraza on a season long loan

2.) 04 May 2017 18:56:29
I would buy Bartley especially at 850K on transfer market, what a steal, Try and get Pedraza on a season loan. Give Botaka another year. Sacko, Grimes, Diagouraga, Murphy, Irwin, Barrow can go.

3.) 04 May 2017 19:37:06
Barts and Alfonso. Others don't mimde

4.) 04 May 2017 20:03:19
If where serious about promotion and i'm talking top two only Bartley and Pedraza are worth a punt.

5.) 04 May 2017 20:03:43
Bartlett transfer value will probably double after this season. He'll be looked at by teams like Sunderland for next season. If we can sign him up great, if not I won't be too pleased. I wouldn't like to see a reshuffle at the back again, especially with taylor uncertain. On another note, Erwin might give us something else up top, he seems to have scored about 20% of Oldham goals this season or something? I know it's a league below but it's another option. For me ins this year must be a new:
LB
CB
Holding mid
LW
RW
Back up ST Outs would be:
Antonsson
Silvestri
Cooper
Murphy
Dave
Phillips (loan) ? Botaka
And the loanees to return home except barts and ped. Would love to see nicell given a run, also a young right back who plays for the academy, looks like byram but forgot his name, anybody tell me what he's called, was good when I watched him.

6.) 04 May 2017 21:56:02
Bartley, Pedraza to return on permanent basis and perhaps keep Erwin as a squad player.

7.) 05 May 2017 10:06:20
Pedraza looked a maybe but def not at the money I an seeing. In that case a years loan with an option to buy But he has to show more and more often.

8.) 06 May 2017 12:44:39
Bartley and Sacko for me, Ped's not convinced me at all (specially for the £8.5M figure that's been bandied about)

Seems we were never really in for him, certainly not around the £5m mark.

Doesn't necessarily mean Taylor will go now; if we get the Walsall lad, it may be with a view to getting him ready to step up in January or even the end of the coming season if they let Taylor's contract run right down.

Didn't get much of a chance in recent times due to injury but I thought he played well when he first joined, always tried his best and was one of Warnock's better buys. I for one hope he does well in the future.

Fear it'll be McLaren. He's a decent coach working under a manager, but I wouldn't want him as a no.1, even though he grew up supporting Leeds apparently. Much as Larry and Strachan are well thought of in LS11, again wouldn't go there. Up to Radz to decide whether he's going to stick with Orta or a similar DoF, or revert to the traditional manager who decides which players he wants. That decision will probably determine who will be prepared to join.

The only way we were going to hang on to the lead was to keep on attacking as their defence was as poor as ours. Once our 2 front men went off you just knew we were in trouble. Ridiculous.

Always feel whenever we're under pressure he'll do something stupid. Mind you, Pontus moaning again when he got a yellow, don't they ever learn?
