I am concerned that a replacement for Jansson will not be sourced during this window and that our centre back pool will be Cooper, White, Berardi and Strujik. Bielsa doesn't want too many options for positions as displayed last season when our options were Cooper, Jansson, Berardi and Halme.

1.) 07 Jul 2019 13:14:33
Supposed to be after some “wonderkid” 21 year old from Arsenal. I’ll take a good wonderkid from there any day of the week!

2.) 07 Jul 2019 13:21:41
You’d hope but Arsenal have lacked quality CBs since George graham (who? ) stopped signing them.

3.) 07 Jul 2019 14:57:33
And Cooper gets injured week 2.

06 Jul 2019 22:14:35
I am sure it is pure coincidence but the sale of Clarke and Jansson covers the transfer fee for Costa next season.

1.) 07 Jul 2019 04:49:17
Still leaves us short of the loans for this season and our losses.

13 Jun 2019 13:56:42
Villa are apparently interested in Phillips for £14m. Would not want to lose one of our better performers from last season however he is not worth £14m so I would probably take it.

1.) 13 Jun 2019 14:57:00
Not worth it. ? Team
If the season player. Grealish had a £50m tag on him. Kalvin has him in his pocket . no less than £20 m.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 15:02:06
Other rumour is swap with wolves for Helder! Thank goodness these clubs aren’t talking to Bermo or they’d only be offering a monkey!

3.) 13 Jun 2019 15:23:49
I’d probably take 15 million or Helder and some cash. Bielsa has improved his play and value over one season. He has the chance of premiership football and we get a reasonable return when his second year in the position might not be a good. If we need some cash, possibly one f the least painful options, Forshaw on the books and Bielsa possibly sees other possibilities.

4.) 13 Jun 2019 16:00:48
think of brexit no deal.

5.) 13 Jun 2019 16:02:37
I'd take it or any better offer if we could negotiate it.
Shackleton would be perfect for that role IMO.

6.) 13 Jun 2019 17:43:42
Are you guys serious?! Do you want promotion next year or not?! KP is essential for a promotion campaign! Doesn’t matter if we even get £20 m as it won’t all be invested back in the team anyway . Spanish, Forshaw is not fit to lace KP’s boots in that defensive shield position . Have you forgotten about the careless play from him that led to a number of goals last season already?!

7.) 13 Jun 2019 19:20:18
Red Hot, everyone has his price and his value. Your view of KP isn’t shared by everyone on here. During the year there was careless play from quite a few people. On top of that he might actually fancy having a go at the premiership. Before the start of the season KP wasn’t thought of as a superb player in that position. No reason to believe someone else couldn’t succeed as well. However I’ll go with Bielsas judgement, I’m sure he would have made it perfectly clear if he is prepared to accept the sale of KP.

8.) 13 Jun 2019 20:07:35
If KP goes it’s just another nail in Rads coffin as far as I’m concerned as well as many others . That goes for Clarke too, who has every chance of being a £50 m to £ 100 m player one day .

9.) 14 Jun 2019 11:08:47
Anyone willing to take 15mill for KP is a fool. He is the sort of player you need at the club. Made EFL team in the first year he has played that position and will improve next season although i think he should be used further forward. You want his kind around the dressing room and for me he his 25mill+. Who will you replace him with, Diaz not ready for a full campaign yet and Foreshaw should be on his way out in my opinion along with Dallas.

10.) 14 Jun 2019 13:41:06
Dallas' finishing was sublime in the playoff game - I would try him out as a center forward personally. Get rid of Bam-average instead.

11.) 15 Jun 2019 20:44:56
Under no circumstances should KP be sold. The boy is Leeds thro an thro, born and bred, and we need those, at least one of them, in our team. Like him, or loathe him, we need Leeds blood on that pitch, and I know Kal would do anything for our club.

25 May 2019 23:18:03
Reported online PSG owners interested in buying Leeds.

1.) 26 May 2019 11:52:50

2.) 26 May 2019 14:59:14
I see that the silly season has started already.

3.) 26 May 2019 15:17:24

It's silly season, all season, and every season, at ER.

4.) 26 May 2019 20:35:33
Yeah it’s probably the skint cousin of the PSG owner without two Euro’s to rub together.

5.) 27 May 2019 12:56:09
To be fair can it get mch worse as it seems Radz is not planning to buy anyone during the summer according to the 72, even if we sell. If Radz has no intention of investing I wish he would just foxtrot oscar, instead he is hoping to get promoted on the cheap and then sell the club.

21 Oct 2018 10:54:45
Possession in football isn't always nine tenths of the law, it is what you do with the ball that counts. Glad to see Hernandez back because he adds to creativity of the team and takes the focus off Saiz. A fit Roofe "sniffing" around the six yard box will offer more than Roberts who is still learning the game and operates around the penalty spot/ edge of the box.

06 Jul 2019 19:02:30
With Jansson leaving will that make us the most vertically challenged squad in the league?

1.) 06 Jul 2019 19:09:49

2.) 06 Jul 2019 19:19:15
Well said, good ridence to bad rubbish

Good on his day but in his head he’s far too good for us so he’s gone to a huge club Brentford, wonder if he’s got them Mixed up with Watford.

3.) 06 Jul 2019 19:22:36
He hasn't fallen out with the club. The same applies to no manager bigger than the club or no owner bigger than the club. That's why Leeds United are still here 100 years on.

4.) 06 Jul 2019 19:32:03
So much for him wanting to play in the PL.

5.) 06 Jul 2019 19:57:39
A fickle bunch we are singing songs and praise him week in week out. Now we kick him because he's fallen out with either the owner or the manager.

6.) 06 Jul 2019 19:58:27
Seems obvious that he was told not to come back not that he asked to leave.

7.) 06 Jul 2019 20:23:34
C’mon posters, some pretending losing Pontus is ‘no big deal’, get real this is not good for obvious reasons his performances when wearing LUFC shirt! Yes he had off days but we were hailing him more times than not.

If it was Cooper that would be no bad thing IMO.

If there’s any truth about the transfer fee being only around £5 million then that too is a disgrace as it should be at least double that.

I pray we are working on a better Pontus replacement or we are in deep 5h1t if we do not strengthen defence more!

Great work done with Clarke, Costa, and Harrison loans but get real Radz about selling players on the cheap!

8.) 06 Jul 2019 21:52:21
I meant that we have the smallest team (height) and therefore will be faced with long balls and crosses game in game out.

9.) 06 Jul 2019 22:44:06
Stinking attitude, thinking he is bigger than the club. We all supported him so much, but he still thinks he’s better than us. He can naff reet off for me. You do what the manager asks, or you do one. We will get someone better, and he will rot.

10.) 07 Jul 2019 02:35:49
Notts makes an important post. We may play Bielsaball but now the opposition will play long ball frequently. Surely we will look to replace Pontus quickly. Transfer fee ought to have been minimum £9m.

11.) 07 Jul 2019 08:38:29
Rubbish wtf, just goes to show some don’t know nothing, intentional player given away we must need money badly, when is Radz f- off.

01 Jul 2019 13:46:17
Good start to the window but I hope that we add some height and physicality to the ranks. Last season we were vulnerable to set pieces and struggled against teams that liked to put their foot in.

1.) 01 Jul 2019 14:41:23
Struggle from set pieces for years Notts.

2.) 01 Jul 2019 14:50:22
Time to do something about it Batty?

3.) 01 Jul 2019 16:12:06
Yes. Learn how to defend. We’ve tried and tried but mostly failed miserably from all set pieces but mostly corners.
I thought Pontus would have helped and has slightly helped, but in general. Needs more work. But as long as we score more than we concede then I will be happy.

4.) 02 Jul 2019 13:01:45

Last time I thought we had the set piece thing seen up we had Jansson, Barkley and Wood in the team
A huge presence.

08 Jun 2019 23:57:01
BPF again beaten on the near post from a long range free kick. He doesn't seem to be learning from his mistakes. Still time to improve but needs to work on his positioning.

1.) 09 Jun 2019 00:50:34
Notts Actually he needs to find a new profession. He stands in wrong place deliberately to steal half a yard so other side of his goal more protected. Works at League One level and below but above that you get punished. BPF canna protect his goalmouth nor his actual mouth from spouting garbage. I'd sell him as fast as Spanish Box. Huffer Miazek and Male better. George has spoken. Make it so Radz. Stop wasting money.

2.) 09 Jun 2019 08:18:32
George is right we have 4 good young goalkeepers but still don’t seem to have found a reliable first choice that also plays the Bielsa way. Kiko isn’t going to be easy to resolve but if we can sell back to Spain, we should do it. Bailey should go out on loan where he will get game time and show everyone, including himself how good he is. Huffer or Miazak could be 2 and 3 to a solid and fit number 1.

3.) 09 Jun 2019 14:05:58
I have to agree. I never saw anything in the lad to show he has what it takes. He looks like league2 at best. Hope he proves me wrong though.

4.) 09 Jun 2019 15:24:02
Totally agree Spanish

Send BPF out on loan. Could be quite a number of League 1 clubs willing to take the current N ireland No1, and if he proves he's good enough everyone's a winner. If not he can go next summer. Eve NM though I, went to a number of U23 games last season, I've never actually seen Huffer play - only Miazek and Male (and Blackman of course pre-injury) . Was impressed with Miazek - especially in the National final. Could not believe how small Male was - and whilst he was clearly spring-heeled - it is his height that gives me reservations about him stepping up even longer-term. Spanish (and other U23 veterans) , I'd be interested to know whether you have a preference between Huffer and Miazek, and if so, what it is that gives them the edge.

Also agree that if we can sell Kiko back to Spain (or elsewhere) that would be for the best, particularly if we had an experienced Championship or back-up Prem (like Pope) keeper ready to sign on the dotted line.

5.) 09 Jun 2019 23:16:59
We were top of the league with BPF with one of the best defensive records in the division - #justsaying.

6.) 10 Jun 2019 23:41:06
Not that simple Tuppence.

Current Thoughts On Leeds United

16 May 2019 16:03:47
{Ed's Note - NottsWhite has posted a new article entitled, Current Thoughts On Leeds United

1.) 16 May 2019 20:49:56
Agree Notts about the spy gate fiasco ultimately having a major effect on our promotion push. It turned a lot of the football world especially them most in the media against us. Teams raised their game against us, we were everyone's cup final. The Bamford incident against Villa ultimately cost us against Derby in play offs last night, what could and should have been a penalty for the push in the box on Bamford was seen as simulation again. Yes there were other factors, small squad, injuries and lack of investment in the transfer window also playing its part.

29 Apr 2019 09:19:44
Felt that the comment from the paragon of virtue that is Dean Smith after the game was an insult to the jesture made by Bielsa to allow Villa to equalise. Saying that the decision was common sense is sanctimonious claptrap. Does the common sense and fair approach apply to the blatant diving by Grealish?

I feel that we have paid our dues with regards to the spy gate matter and therefore we don't owe anything to any club and we certainly aren't going to get any favours from anyone else. Certainly not Stuart Atwell, who I can only assume had won a competition to be a referee for a day or was there for comedic value. If this idiot for a referee had not indulged Villa by giving them a foul on demand, just maybe on seeing a player injured we would have put the ball out, but incensed by the numerous cheating we played on and scored.

Yes, their midfield may have stopped, thinking they were going to get their obligatory gift of a free kick but their benevolent friend in black forgot to do his part. However, I saw a Villa defence and goalkeeper trying to stop the goal. The goal rightly stood but I do not agree with the decision to give them a goal back. I love Bielsa's integrity however if the tables were turned I don't think Smith would have reciprocated.

1.) 29 Apr 2019 09:31:55
Notts, I think the game was exactly what we needed. Turned a strange atmosphere into a buzzing and fiery one through common hatred of the ref, Grealish, Terry and by the end nearly everyone. The players fought and battled against a physical side and we played some good football. Showed we could keep Grealish quiet again. Lots of positives. Think the Bielsa decision was the right one in the circumstances, got some goodwill and good press back.

Effectively two weeks to prepare for the play offs, try out some new ideas and practice shooting and penalties!

2.) 29 Apr 2019 09:52:51
Unfortunately I spent most of the day at Pinderfields with my old ma, seems like I missed a good game 😊 ah well, another home game to make up for it and hopefully my first trip to that new Wembley thingy 😁.

3.) 29 Apr 2019 10:01:16
As we are now paragons of virtue, and have set an example of fair play, sportsmanship and showing respect for the competition, I wonder if we'll get our £200,000 back 😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂.

4.) 29 Apr 2019 12:38:31
Hope all is ok Al, the pub was buzzing!

5.) 29 Apr 2019 16:36:01
Ta Spanish, she's a bit better than yesterday, but that's not saying a lot 🙂.

6.) 29 Apr 2019 17:23:14
AL. Best wishes for you and yer mam.

7.) 29 Apr 2019 18:34:24
Yep, best wishes to you both and good on you for being with her!

8.) 29 Apr 2019 19:02:56
Al. Good luck with everything 👍.

9.) 29 Apr 2019 21:02:11
AL. Hope everything is OK.

I have read articles that state Bielsa is happy with his central defensive options and only wants a left back and a striker. I hope this is not the case as we will be severely expose if injuries/ suspensions occur. Also I believe I am right in that we have conceded in the last two friendlies from corners. Does not bode well.

Why would he give up this cushy gig ? The tail is wagging the dog with regards to his relationship with Radz. Orta is Teflon with regards to the poor performances from the players he has brought in and cannot be judged on the U23s for at least a couple of years. Why go to a club where he may be judged on actual results ? Utter madness

Axe - No problem fella,

Spanish - Totally agree that last season was very good and was almost fantastic. I am of the view that Clubs that don't have parachute payments burning a hole in their pocket can still challenge for promotion but have to build a squad over a number of windows. Clubs such as Watford and Leicester have proved this. They identify what their weaknesses are and attempt to rectify them.

So far we have brought in a player (Costa) who will improve the number 10 role with pace and guile, but at the moment this only addresses one of the issues we had last season. I think Bielsa is great, but at times, I think he undervalues the requirement of a solid defence to achieve attacking football. I believe it is possible to have both.

14 Jul 2019 21:21:30
I will correct you Axe as I never stated we are weaker than last season, I stated that the frailties of last season have not been addressed.

14 Jul 2019 19:40:07
Only my opinion Spanish but I feel I should explain. The only difference to our supposed starting 11 is Costa, who is a good signing but puts pressure on him to perform. Warnock (don't like the fella) summed us up last season when he said we are weak (physically) , this has not changed and was demonstrated last season against the more physical teams. The squad size was an issue last season as we ran out of players and steam, lack of rotation cost us. There may be a greater influx from the U23s but there is no guarantee Bielsa will use them. Let's not forget Bielsa's limited use of Shackleton last season.

Last season we suffered from injuries, some will say we were unlucky, I would say in part we were however we have players who prior to Bielsa coming were injury prone, Roofe, Cooper, Hernandez, Forshaw, Ayling, Berardi and Roberts (injured again) are the players this squad will need to rely on but have never given us a full season. In addition, Hernandez is another year older and Jansson has been sold. My final point is that we lack height with only Bamford (I believe) over 6ft in height leaves us at greater risk to set plays.

14 Jul 2019 12:28:03
Hate to say it but unless we add to the current group we will struggle for automatic. Our frailties from last season still remain. I hope reports are wrong that we will only bring players in if others move on. Time will tell.
