I haven't got twitter but a mate has told me rumours on there about zola coming in!?

I expect to get shot down with this comment but I really hope we stick with BMD. I accept that results have been poor recently but how people can say off field problems have nothing to do with it is ludicrous! Ask yourself if you were only paid half your wages would you give your all at work or would you stand slating the company!?

To replace the manager now or in the past or till the rest of the season would papering up a crack as the problem has never stemmed from the manager it's been the persons above him and BMD has soldiered on and tried to do what's best for he club. This is a man who will succeed IMO given time and a club with no drama and who don't have joke owners! Judge him when he gets a fair crack at things.
Football is a results based business, unfortunately people forget the circumstances surrounding the results at 3pm on a Saturday.

People will disagree which is what football is all about, differing opinions but I just think BMD will do as well as any manager next year with backing and owners who respect him!

MOT!

1.) I think you make a very fair point. And I agree: he IS a good coach and deserves the same chance that a 'new' coach would expect.

2.) 06 Apr 2014 12:30:04
He's already sacked BMD once so must be abit awkward, prior to Cellino, McDermott signed some poor players. I would not fancy letting him loose with £10m to spend on the league 1+2 players of the year!

3.) His tactics are inept, and he hasn't got a Scooby do how to change thing when losing, he is one of the most stagnant managers around.

4.) 06 Apr 2014 12:41:39
Footballers some on 18k a week at Leeds are not going to miss their wages a couple of weeks late some will prefer to get it in bulk because they will be getting like 40k in the space of 2 weeks because wages have been late and idc what football club I was at if I was a footballer i'd try for the fans some of which pay a hell of a lot to see you play

5.) They have missed half of there payments for one month we have been poor all season no passion no pace no quality . for me I would keep byram warnock pearce mccormack mowat and murphy only because he is young and the rest can go

6.) Totally agree with you, since he was appointed it has been nothing but turmoil at ER so give him a settled off season, and a season with upheaval and then judge him!
PeteMOT

7.) Footballers have bills as much as you, they may earn more than you but that just means they have larger expenses to pay, trust me, they will very much miss half of their wages.

Unfortunately in this current climate you would find it hard to find a player that plays for fans, at least above grass roots level. Players join clubs for money and to win stuff, simple as.

tbh I would find it a bit creepy if we got a Serie A player tomorrow who suddenly started kissing the badge (i'm already struggling to see how MC "fell in love with the fans" after we chased him out the ground in Jan. and why should we expect any specific loyalty from players that change their colors every 2/3 years anyway?

(PS I appreciate there are a few good eggs out there, this is merely a generelisation)

8.) I think the goings on my have had some effect but his signings have been very poor and some of the tactics and selections have been very hard to understand. When he was sacked by Reading they were bottom of the league. He is not very inspirational and is not the sort of manager who can attract quality players

9.) Agree with what your saying, I don't see the harm in keeping till end of season but I would exwpct to see a maked imprivement from here in.
Another thing to maybr consider is that there will always be something that's a big deal at lufc, brian will need to understand this a a big club and its a big job so he's going to need to be able to handle that kind of pressure

10.) Original poster here.

I appreciate everybodies comments and agree with a few. For me, it's not even a case of imagining yourself not getting paid - it's more of a case of imaging being in a a mangers position and trying to rally your workforce after they've only recieved a portion of their pay!?

What should of happened is GFH/Haigh or whoever caused this financial mess should have gone and done tactics/team talks as there the ones who put us in the initial mess not BMD who then gets treated as the scapegoat as he's an easy target! After what YEP released last week regarding the board checking BMD tactics it's jumping the gun to also criticise his tactics as how do we know these weren't just GFHs chosen tactics and signings not BMD!?

I also couldn't agree more with kentish white - people's need to realise that footballers do not view there club in the same way as those of its supporters. It's easy to say that we would all give our all for leeds half pay or full pay as we're fans of the club. Most at leeds currently aren't and whether it be right or wrong that's the harsh reality. same as If we played for any other club, Bolton for eh. would you give as much of a feck?! It's sad but true.

Hopefully we can move forward now and for me, with BMD!

11.) I agree with you, I'd like to see him given a shot with some decent funding and no excuses to hide behind. If he does get the boot though who would everyone like in as a replacement?

12.) 06 Apr 2014 16:26:28
Bring in Glenn hoddle recon he would do ok

13.) If BMD wins the majority of the games left this season now that the players will be paid and the ownership is sorted I might agree with you. Somehow I don't this will happen. It can't be denied that most of his signings are pretty poor and wouldn't get in most of the other championship sides. Nor can't it be denied that tactically he has been found wanting. In most of the games this season, even those that we won, we haven't been dominating games

14.) I'll admit I was the first one to defend bm when he got sacked but after all the bad mistakes he's made over the last weeks it's hard to trust him with money after the players he's brought in.i can see were your coming from over players wages but I would die on that pitch soon has I put that shirt on they should play for the fans that are paying there wages that travel week in week out to see our team at least try to play football first half yeasterday was really bad, we had a better team in league one I'm just glad that bates has gone for good he's brought our club down far to long Chelsea scum. I'm so glad to see massimo come in after watching him on you tube talking to a fan he loves our club like we do and that's what was up with the fa they just don't like us full stop.it would of been so easy for him to walk away but he didn't he fought for us when he had his own club in Italy I respect the man already I think this could be the break that all us die hard leeds fans deserve mot for ever lads

15.) Mate I agree when you say you would die to put that shirt on - nobody more so than me but that's my point. you and me say that as supporters, unfortunately players well most anyway don't think the same way which is why they don't play out their skin for half there pay packet. It's a non starter debate as I assume you have a job mainly to provide and for your wage at the end of the month, just like me. which is exactly what players do but people think there the enemy for having this mentality! Like I said, right or wrong it's the way of the world.

Also, if these are BMD signings and not the boards then I would agree when people say this is his downfall as they've been pretty disastrous so far but people are quick to forget that he was the best manager since sliced bread when he brought in Wickham and Butland. ! All people do is judge him on kebe, stewart and hunt! He's also got the best out of Pearce since he's been here, gave mowatt a proper crack of the whip, got roscos best season out of him and signed a pretty decent goal scoring return in matt Smith!

In a stable club with the right backing I'm sure BMD will be a decent manager and we will challenge next year.

Scoty1919

16.) Just seen on twitter, people saying he's spent more money then previous etc and he shouldn't be trusted in the market. Kenny, Austin, Peltier, Pearce all amounts to more then what he has spent! Pearce has played well, but he has NEVER been given a chance to do anything, he's only had a scouting network set up from the start of the season. I think seen as he said we didn't have one, no doubt even that isn't up and running.

Results fair enough rubbish, but I think bring in some decent backroom staff, invest in academy coaches and push on. give him next season at least! Grayson had time, so give him more then this season surely

Matt

17.) Scoty I love BM but with the results and the odd doggy signing would he be the manger you would give a rubbish load of money to, I don't know but he's a gentleman and if he does give him a chance then I'll be behind him all the way and he does love leeds.what it is scot I travel every home game and sum away but I'm not on my own I live in stoke with my two sons they are both leeds fans converted from a very early age lol my youngest only being 15 can't really remember the good times but he works all week has a paper boy getting up at 5 so he can buy his ticket to watch leeds he dose not mind us losing he hates the lack of passion and fight that sum players have at times, has he gives every penny he earns on watching leeds united but one thing that never disappoints him are our fans and that's why all of us go.we were all so happy even the wife has even she loves leeds, yeasterday when the news broke has I think we can look forward to good times again. we all love leeds mot

18.) Sorry but I do not agree with original post here (although can see his point), firstly on the players it is not a question of supporting leeds or getting paid is should be a question of pride and loving football. I play in goal, I support leeds and play for my regular team who I don't support I do not get paid but still give all because I love football, love to win and don't like letting goals in, our players should have the same pride full stop, I understand the payment issues but professionals should be better than that, from what I have seen Ross Mcc has step up to the plate if others had done the same we would be ok, as for Brain, who I liked at first. His tactics are inept, his signings have been poor and he has not managed this situation well, dennis wise who was bad manager took leeds in similar circumstances and made the team stronger as any good manager would every situation even bad is an opportunity and brian has failed to rally the troops. so on tatics, signings and man management he has flopped and should go. in any circumstance we should beat charlton and doncaster but our team have given up and its not good enough, eddie howe would still be my man

19.) Also (from post above) I often get asked to play for mates teams or other teams who I do not play for regulary still give my all it is down to personal pride and I have not seen much of that at Er over the last few seasons

20.) To the above post. I agree with all you say mate. I play football and am captain of my local team but don't get paid. I five 150% as I love football but once again this is my point.love it or hate it players get there pay packet nowadays and that's it!

Morally it's wrong but realistically it's true. I get your point about rosco but bar him the only other person I see wanting the best for leeds is BMD himself!

In a perfect world the players would give there all because of love of leeds united and football, sad fully this just isn't the case and BMD is the one who's made a scapegoat for this. Again, just my opinion mate. onwards and upwards!

Ironically I was checking this site earlier and saw the rumour regarding Austin to Norwich for £3m. Whether this was made up I'm not sure but I have a friend who is a Norwich fan who said the same rumour to me about a week ago!

I would hope we don't sell Rudy as it gives out the total wrong image that yet again another captain has left and we no longer apparently a selling club! I have seen some comments about snap their hands off for £3m which for me is ridiculous! As much as good new signings are important, retaining your best players is just as if not more important. I bet there were many Liverpool fans licking their lips at potentially £50m for Suarez and now look at the lad and what he's doing! And rosco the same. imagine where we'd be if we took £2.5m for him from boro?

No amount of money (within reason) for your top players is worth it when your sitting in the playoffs approaching January. Selling ruddy would be a nightmare for me. I just hope the other poster and my mate have caught wind of a dodgy rumour and there's nothing in it!

Couldn't agree more mate! Completely baffles me that people would take money for one of our best players. Teams are hardly ever able to replace good players at this level with anything better. Some folk are never happy. Keep our skipper! MOT

2.) It doesn't take a lot to come up with this rumour off the top of your head. The first thing Norwich/Leeds fans think is who is going from Leeds to Norwich and Austin and McCormack are the only two realistic answers. It's an obvious one to make up so I wouldn't take it seriously unless reported somewhere reputable. I trust the club not to sell our best players now

3.) I hope the 2nd response is correct and is does seem feasible - like I said, I'm hoping this rumour is just dead in the water! And agree with the first response that teams find it hard to replace players. especially there best players.

mot!

4.) 28 Dec 2013 19:43:16
i would take 3 mil for Austin . we would get a better player for less than that. Austin as been quite good for us but there's too many times he will attempt to shoot when he's not really in the right position or shaped correctly to take the shot on and he rushes it, especially towards the back end of the match when we are putting pressure on.

5.) A better player than rudy for less than 3 mil, you should send your scouting cv to mcd we could do with you on the pay roll.
please name one realistic target for that money who can pass tackle, leed by example and boss a midfield as he can.

snoopy MOT

6.) If anyone goes it should be clogger brown, doris norris, warnock, drury and 'andy cole' varney! (how many chances does the guy need to score!?) happy new year to all whites fans

Seeing guidetti rumour getting stronger recently!? I think worth a punt for sure.

Also seeing fester looking at Ross and byram! Whatever the price, even £12m like one rumour said.don't sell! You never get anywhere selling your top plums! The saying everybody has a price is nonsense.only if the owners want them to have a price!

Look at Liverpool. could have took £40m for suarez and where would they be without him whereas spurs dud cash in for £85m and now look at them.don't sell your beat players at any cost!

If MC is as rich as people say on here why should we sell? We should be building a team around Ross and byram and getting rid of dead wood!

1.) Very good argument mate.

2.) Look at Burnley sold jay Rodriguez and Charlie Austin now they are getting promoted.

SDLUFC

3.) Sort of agree but the big question is whether the players want to stay. Once a player decides he wants to leave there's no point keeping him no matter how good he is.

Blackstock and zaliukas look like nearly done deals which I think are great signings! People will moan about them not being 21 and 2 of European best players but it seems to me we have both the best and the most hard to please fans in the world!

I like Blackstock but I'm more happy with the zaliukas signing should it happen! I think it's a signal that we will now play 3 CBs in a 3-5-2 like Sunday meaning we need another CB as cover! Hope I'm right as we were excellent Sunday and the formation suited us!

As for Blackstock, good in the air for his size, decent on the ground and as I'm from Nottingham my family and maths are all florist fans and they all say he is not the striker they should be getting gone so our gain their loss!

Looking forward to sat!

Scoty1919

1.) I don't know know much about this zaliukas but sounds promising of what I have managed to read and see. I thought the back line was terrific though against Birmingham but my only problem was Tom lees having byram free frequently down the right hand side but choosing to hoof it majority of the time. Not slating him because he was defensively very good but couldn't see why he didn't keep I on the floor more often. Then again I only watched on tv so obviously missed bits in camera, was this the case?

2.) Yea that's a fair point mate - it did seem that a few times we were quite intent on the same old hoof ball but then again with a 6ft 6" striker the best weapon was his height.

Small steps though as we did cut down a hell of a lot on the long ball and that meant Murphy and mowatt looked brilliant like we know they can be.

Having said all that it was my daughters birthday so like you, I only saw it on tv! Positives to take for sure though mate!

Just for curiosity purposes more than anything - does anybody have a link where I can see each teams players who have been OMMITTED from the 25 man squads?

All I can find online is the list of players who have been included by their club but cannot find a list of players now available for loan?!?

Any help welcomed :)

I think the whole transfer window has become a joke this summer - clubs throwing money around like its out of fashion and players seeing pound signs over loyalty! Personally I don't think we will get in anybody else but imo we have done some good business this summer!

We have a lot of pessimistic fans but we spent £1m and beat Blackburn to a great looking lad, spent a reported £300k ish on Wootton and biggest of all kept Ross! Its ok the likes of qpr and Wigan spending X amount on players but qpr did it last year on players like Remy, bosingwa, samba etc who smelt a quick buck and couldn't wait to jump ship when times were darker! Ross repeatedly said he wanted to stay and has signed a new deal which counts for more imo!

GFH said it was a 2-3 year plan so they were never going to throw loads about! We have decent owners in comparison to the last few years, an honest manager who is working hard i'm sure to improve the club and I think there are certainly positives! See where we are in January, believe in the boys and the manager!

I see its been mentioned already but strange how matt mills was left out of boltons squad yesterday, after apparently a good pre season according to DF.

also - great day yesterday, I travelled up from Nottingham and sat in the kop and the atmosphere was brilliant at times, nice to hear BMD get the crowds backing and a pleasant goodbye song to master bates! Green would of been MOM for me, think he was superb and to say his opposite number Liam bridcutt is one of the, if not the best dcm in the league - green out shone him.

Lets not get on the CBs case too much as Barnes and ulloa are good players on their day and will cause damage this year, having said that a nice nee CB would be welcome as we only have 2 and pelts who can cover their! Nice to ser the owners greet the fans too - first time in a decade.

This is total rubbish. The post doesn't make sense!?

If we were docked 10 points we would be 2 points clear of drip (was when you posted yesterday), we why would they suspend the betting? This would just be all the more reason to put us in the relegation betting and shorten our odds!

The only way they would suspend is if we were 15 points a drift or in the playoffs! Not a very well thought out rumour as you've got it wrapped right round your neck.

You make it sound like you can't wait to see the back of BMD! keeping hold of McDermott is just as important than holding on to Ross was - if not more important! Bmd's philosophy and views on how to create a successful team are so refreshing and he's the best manager we have had in many a years! Not to mention his interaction with the fans and the relationship he's steadily building - a far cry from me Warnock!

prior to getting bmd I wanted gus to take over very much but now, the worst thing we could do is let Brian go (unless he really wants to). He will be a great success at Leeds if given the correct backing by the board and the fans! I can't believe you already have your fingers crossed to replace him with someone else!? Crazy!

But tbf mate, why would there be 3 managerial casualties in the prem from now till next season? Its quite possible reading will be championship anyway and the teams that survive will most likely stay with their manager as he kept them up. I can't see all 3 being in the prem, maybe 1 but that's all for me.

I hope we approach, and get Gus but I can't see it tbh seen as he's contracted until 2016 and would cost a whack!

I agree to some extent mate but BMD's reasons are justified - he's coming up to 30 and a freebie soon - over half a million quid is a bit steep because of these reasons. Half that figure and I would of been happy but there must be wiser options for 600k or slightly more - he's hardly investment for the future material.
