Why are we stalling on signing Bridcutt, he is keen to join and why are being balking at a fee in the region of 1.5 million at that price after the way he played last season that is a steal. We paid his wages last year so the wage should not know what his wage demands would be. Let's get the transfer done.

I've got a theory Shag.
Because we know what Bridcutt gives us and because he spent most of last season with us, it means we don't need to get him too soon, like you would a new lower league player, to give him time to fit in.
Therefore Cellino will hang on until the last minute trying to get him on the cheap, banking on the fact that Sunderland don't want him anyway.
If this is what Cellino is doing it is a dangerous game with other clubs sniffing around.

Reported that Bridcutt''s wages are 27k per week at the Black Cats. Together with an ever increasing transfer fee might be the reasons behind the club not signing him yet.
Some huge negotiations required methinks.
I'd love to see him back but those wages are a massive stumbling block. MOT.

Agreed Speedo, we probably contributed about £14k per week to his wages last season, we can't get near his current wage and his transfer will depend on his demands and on Sunderland paying up his current contract.

Evans interview on ssn was interesting saying he delivered everything he was asked to do. Let's hope Cellino sticks to his promise that we will have a team that can challenge for promotion this year. Some how I can't seeing him sticking to it.

I see Evans has said Sylvestri will return on Saturday and he is the only player guaranted a starting place in the team. Did Sylvestri only get a one game ban for his sending off?
This is a real concern as seeing the young lad Bailey Peacock-Farrell, play n Tursday night he is definitely one for the future. My concern is premiership clubs are sniffing around Bailey with Spurs the latest club showing an interest, Evans had publicly said Bailey will definitely play some games before the season ends and will still be a Leeds player next season. If we are to keep Bailey and get him to sign a new contract he needs to feel if he has a real chance of playing in the first team next year as we won't be able to compete with premiership clubs the salaries Young players will get.

agree, I like silvestri but as the season is over it should be about looking at youth and letting them know leeds is the place for them, same with coyle and sure their are others. i'd love to see about 8 youth players get at least five games a piece and of course sign them all on long term deals.

Stevo will justify the decision to play Silvestri over Farrell by claiming we aren't safe enough for him to risk keeping the kid in goal.
He will only bring the kid in in the last 3 or 4 games, when it is mathematically impossible for us to go down. So I wouldn't hold my breath on any of the younger players getting a decent chance.

I'm with DS. We need to be 100% safe before we blood him in fully. He had nothing to do Tuesday and a few of his kicks were straight out of the Silvestri handbook of kicking. He needs game time and as soon as we are safe let him prove he could be our number 1 next year.

Guys unless I have proof you kinda know this stuff is made up because it is us and it is easy to say almost anything negative and people will just lap it up.
Of course we always get these stories after a defeat, you can predict the random stories just go into overdrive and it just gets a bit boring.
If it is true then it seems our squad doesn't want to play for anyone as they have history doing this type of thing before (well they may have done that) , if that the case says more about the players than SE.
Re SE if he gets to end of season around 10-12th place and results in line with expectations then unless we can get in a "class" coach (unlikely) we may as well back him, get 4-5 players he needs and at least have a stable start to season, a well though out approach to how we want to play and give him to Xmas at least (unless we haven't won in 10 games or something like that) .
I just feel if we change for the sake of it gets us nowhere, if I was MC and it was my money I know who I would be speaking to for advice. people who have been successful in running a club and managers who have been successful as my way (as in MC's) clearly is average at best, if it was my cash I would not want to keep wasting it doing a "groundhog day" approach.

DG when you say "We may as well back him" who are you refering to.
As fans I think we will back him, of course there will be a percentage that want him out, but all I crave for is some consistency, in the management team and the results.
However if you are referring to MC I don't think there is much chance that he won't tinker again. We would be stable and the roller coster ride start again. SE's contract runs out at the end of the season and if MC can get a (in his opinion) better coach he will try. It makes Cellino financial sense than to, extend and then sack after 10 or so games.

Can't understand tonight's team selection for tonight's game. we have no wingers playing, if we are to win I feel we will need to get behind them. Looks like we will be playing really narrow.

i agreed with all these comments pre match but we did get the win. maybe the fat man knows something and at least players are fighting for the shirt. glad to be proven wrong as after seeing team sheet I thought we were going to get beat by 3 or 4.

DC you have forgotten that both Belusci and Antunucci was one of the famous 6 that refused to play at Charlton in April ( or should I say he claimed to be injured) . Our great club has been put through the ringer enough and the actions of these 6 players was an all time low point. They should of been never allowed to put on a football shirt again let allown a Leeds shirt ( I include Sylvestri and Doukaera in this) how they can call themselves Professional footballers is totally beyound me as this isn't the actions of anyone professional.

If we can get 4 million for Bellusci he should go even if it is lira or rupies. I for one wom't be sorry to see him go, now if we could get rid of Antonucci as well this would be the best business we have down for a long time. I knew 2016 would be a good year.

Hi MM in my opinion Antonicci and the rest of the players that refused to play for us at Charlton last year should of never been allowed to ever put on a Leeds shirt again. I was one of 2500 -3000 fans that sung the players should leave and my opinion hasn't changed on that, unfortunately others have forgotten this. The good thing about the players refusing to play mean't Beradi was given a starting spot and he hasn't looked back and shows what can be achieved if players work hard and persevere.
Hearing the Berlusci deal is a loan we need to buy some players not loan them as the majority of players are only playing for themselves. MC needs to buy some proven players not young Italians with potential, that is all they are potential & if Saturday's performance is to go buy we need some new recruits urgently

I am more concerned that Cellino won't keep his promise of real investment in the playing squad, I base this on the fact Monk has only been given a years contract with the possibility of another year if he does well.
We also need to tie down the likes of Cook, Taylor to longer contracts.
