Omg. Just seen the highlights. Wow, No way we are not going to score lots of goals this season. Just need to make sure defence is sound. Total reversal from last season.

1.) 09 Aug 2017 23:09:34
Yeah, very nervous about the defense at the moment. There will be tougher challenges ahead as well.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 23:59:49
Ayling, BJ and Jansson is a solid base Alf, Just need 1 more CB and we should be OK, unless Penningtons injury turns out to be long term anyway.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 10:49:02
In all reality, we have beaten a promoted team who will struggle this year and a lower level team. Although I'm not a doom and gloom merchant, we have much bigger challenges ahead. It's great to hear the optimism on this site but I remember last season only too well when we started badly and everyone on here was slagging us off and calling for Monk's head. I think this season will be very much like last in the early games until the squad gels, so hold onto your hat boys n girls, it's going to be a roller coaster! MM

4.) 10 Aug 2017 12:31:27
A roller coaster, as always. but your right we need to remain grounded, whilst positive. Things are looking good but we have some tougher tests ahead.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 14:53:43
Its so hard not to be er excited. I saw highlights and this is sooooo diff to last year. We fluked most of our wins but this year. I get the impression. The team are already having fun cause they know they got what it takes. Still need 100 comitement and effort though boys! 👍

30 Jul 2017 22:19:51
Not really related to current transfer rumours but anyone else think that Chris Wood is going to be sold?

1.) 30 Jul 2017 23:51:20
Yep. I do. I reckon we get about 18 mill for him 2nd week in august.

2.) 30 Jul 2017 23:43:42
I do speedy. That's not a wedding vow so don't get excited nor Berm jealous. We've spent a little bit of cash on purchase of ER and player recruitment. Balancing the books only sensible provided it's around that 20m figure for his sale.

3.) 31 Jul 2017 00:28:43
I actually dont, (not saying it won't happen if someone stumps up £20m and Negrado signs) I just don't think Rad can afford to. He has spent big and it feels like a concerted push rather that a 2-3 year plan. If we fall flat this year FFP and players promised promotion when they signed leaving could knock us back down a peg for a while. If this is an all or nothing year you don't let the big hitter leave.

4.) 31 Jul 2017 07:50:31
Yes, and if somebody is going to give 20 million he should go. If the rumors of Negredo coming are true, even more so. He will be our first choice striker, he is a different class to anything we have had since Viduka left. He scored 9 goals in the premier league last season, in a bad boro side who barely created a chance a game

5.) 31 Jul 2017 09:11:20
Cant see Negredo coming in - he would have to take a huge cut in wages or he would be on 3 or 4 times as much as everyone else and that would surely unsettle the rest of the squad?

6.) 31 Jul 2017 10:53:41
He will need a big name signing to replace him if he issued or there will be tremors around ER with the fans and it just undoes all the work put in so far. I think woody will struggle to emulate last season tbh as now the tactical genius has gone,

7.) 31 Jul 2017 12:01:43
I think he will go to prem. And possible struggle. He did a great job for us last season and I'm not saying I want him to go. But I just have a feeling that he wants to move on, and looks like our style of play is going to be somewhat more imaginative than relying on him to score every goal

8.) 31 Jul 2017 12:22:26
I didn't go on Saturday Speedy, but talking to someone who did, he said Leeds played better when Wood went off, as before that they were trying to get the ball to him ASAP. So, you may be right.

9.) 31 Jul 2017 14:12:02
Thanks Danum. I usually am, but my modesty prevents me from saying so 😁

14 Jun 2017 00:30:42
Sanchez being reported. And no not the right one. Going to be totally underwhelmed if that happens. Not a sign of intent imo

1.) 14 Jun 2017 08:09:19
Not sanchez vicarro the tennis player. i'd probably prefer george.

2.) 14 Jun 2017 16:24:18
Think I would prefer her to Victor Sanchez Aus.

13 Jun 2017 20:54:08
Fernando Ruiz Hierro now favourite from nowhere. Could this be the one ?

1.) 13 Jun 2017 21:09:32
That would be an interesting one!?

2.) 13 Jun 2017 21:19:37
On Face Ache that he has left his current club (Real Oviedo) by mutual consent so it looks like it.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 21:51:59
Keep guessing lads, law of averages says we will guess right in the end.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 21:55:54
Well my guess is it won't be Ranieri

5.) 13 Jun 2017 22:40:51
Well I've officially pulled out of the race speedy, done my share of weekends Monday to Friday job nowadays

6.) 14 Jun 2017 00:02:02
Same here martyn.
I asked for at least saturday off. And they said no.
Was will to do the occasional saturday morning but they still said no.
Maybe that's why they are having so much trouble. They are being too picky with their demands.
I pulled out of the 4.

7.) 14 Jun 2017 00:24:36
So that leaves 2 then aus? Wonder if it's mick and george

8.) 14 Jun 2017 10:03:58
I've just bought my season ticket for next year so am ruling myself out Martyn. Don't want to waste it by sitting in the dug out, I've got a nice spot in the East Stand.

14 Apr 2017 22:58:14
Massive point tonight. In all seriousness we need Pontus to get booked on Monday and then be back for playoffs hungry as a lion

1.) 16 Apr 2017 14:12:58
Have you seen how close it is now? Far too dangerous for Jansson to get a tactical booking now -we might not make the play offs, so what would be the point? As Monk is no doubt saying, we have to take it one match at a time (effectively treating each game as a final) , and see where it takes us. We need our strongest possible team for the next 4 games, as it's looking like going to the final game now. If we make it to the playoffs, we take it from there.

2.) 16 Apr 2017 19:43:32
So how about this? Pontus plays all games and doesn't pick up anymore bookings therefore staying eligible? Yeah I know that prompts two questions: what am I on, and can you have some?

13 Jan 2018 19:00:55
Well I think it's finally glaringly obvious that we are a 12-15 position team. Don't think that Radz will splash out on what is needed to make the last half if the season interesting. And we will be starting again next season because the likes if Pontus and Saiz will be off to better things. Or more lucrative things anyway. I'm not saying get rid of TC. Not yet anyway. But nothing to suggest he is ' the one '

1.) 13 Jan 2018 20:04:04
In the words of Simon and garfuncle. slip slidin away

2.) 13 Jan 2018 20:23:29
Well we got The Boxer and definitely now got some Troubled Water

3.) 13 Jan 2018 20:40:48
Totally agree Speedy. Radz needs to do something to get morale up and keep us all backing TC and the board - Nothing will increase fan backing more than bringing in a quality midfield option (strong tackler and creative) , first team defensive cover (or starter! ) and a 20 (Maybe 30 in the Championship) goal striker - And that's JUST to solidify top half status! TC doesn't get much stick, but I worry where is plan b and does he even have one? Freshen the squad (a little) and go again until May. We can do this. MOT SM

4.) 13 Jan 2018 21:52:25
Not much any manager can do when a player goes kamikaze and ruins the game. Cheer up we are still in an ok position and plenty of the season left to go.

5.) 14 Jan 2018 10:42:31
That's true Alf. But what positives signs have you seen that leads you to think we might do well in the remaining games ?

08 Jan 2018 11:34:56
What I don't understand is why TC ( and many other managers) persist in playing the weakest side they think will win in the cup games. I could go along with this if we had a league game within a couple of games. But why not just play the strongest side we have, hopefully get a good performance, a win to boost confidence, and go on a bit of a cup run. The cash generated would buy a player to replace one of the mediocre offerings that were on show yesterday. Two strikers, a left back and Bartley or a midfield the bare minimum requirements needed this month in my opinion. Not criticised TC before this game but I am having my doubts about his ability to get some of the players breaking a sweat for him.

1.) 08 Jan 2018 12:15:07
And his style of play speedy. ( do we have one? ) . if that's the players giving there best for the fans and manager then it's time to order a bus for some of them, we couldn't fit them all in a taxi. pml up top, we we all j is that stands for piss myself laughing, and that's what I almost do when I watch him play, there's more movement in a graveyard!

2.) 08 Jan 2018 13:20:05
I think in the modern game it is called 'squad rotation' speedy. Its also about having the opportunity to assess some of the fringe players in a competitive match without risking your league position so i can completely understand it. what i can't understand is why these players, who are arguably playing for first team contention, didn't give a better account of themselves. can't or wont?

07 Jan 2018 19:31:29
It's so sad that the FA cup has become so devalued and unimportant. In the good old days it was the highlight of the season, and players would give everything to play at Wembley. Too much money in the premiership now and too many foreign players and coaches have killed it off so hardly anyone cares now

1.) 07 Jan 2018 20:26:53
It's no great revelation but yes it is money and has been for a number of years. Since Premier/Sky. How much do you get for winning the Cup and how much do you get for getting to the Premier League and the cash cow just keeps giving. Not only if you stay there but years after you leave. You would have to be crazy to put Cup before Prem. Also you can slip up now and then in the Championship but in the Cup you have to win every game. Losers go home.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 20:50:02
Give a champions league place to the FA cup winners and things might change.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 22:38:04
Cup competition changes over the years before champions league it was uefa cup before that fairs cup it's up to cup organisations to keep up so blame the fa

4.) 07 Jan 2018 22:54:53
Wasn't it European cup just for the champions and fairs cup / eufa for the minor places? Originally 2nd . Then top 3. Now half the Prem it seems.

5.) 08 Jan 2018 07:00:06
I mean the status of the competition changes

6.) 08 Jan 2018 10:06:04
Yes We. But too many champions league places give to league positions. Drop one of those and give it to the FA Cup imo

19 Nov 2017 10:55:05
Today's game the most unpredictable I can remember. We could lose or win by 3 goals. I've not got a good feeling though, so let's hope I'm wrong

1.) 19 Nov 2017 11:36:39
Time for talking is over, now is the time for action. Been reading rather than posting lately, today is a big day for our season. MOT

31 Oct 2017 13:28:18
One single game is never crucial but it is a bad bad sign if we don't get points tonight. Or if we are outplayed

1.) 31 Oct 2017 16:48:40
I agree that tonight's game isn't critical in many senses, but I suspect that a defeat tonight, particularly a feeble one, could prove critical for TC. I do not think that Radz would sack him, but I think that he would start to put preparations in place for the possibility of that eventuality on the near future. My heart says 3-2 to us, but my brain is worried. They are a capable team with a capable, ambitious and aggressive manager, who understands this league. Ferk em, onwards n upwards!

2.) 31 Oct 2017 18:09:56
Derby are going to be up for this match, reading posts from their players past and present, they are confident at turning us over. Let's hope our lads are up for the battle tonight and can grind out a result, we all need a boost. M O T

3.) 31 Oct 2017 19:49:51
I reckon first team to score will win the game, 2 draws we've had, 0 - 0, the rest have gone to whichever team scored first.
