A laboured win but a win nonetheless. We need time to gel with so many new signings and a couple more in the next few days (Osman, Bristol City lad? ) . Looking back to 1989-90, we lost 5-2 on the first day of the season with a new influx of players. Bring on Birmingham and I will certainly be downing the pints.

first three games in 89-90 was one win, one draw and one loss, if that happens now half of our fans will be doom and gloom and getting us religated. we will improve.

Sunday was appalling. Bamba and Wood must go. Berardi injury unfortunate. Unless we get new players in the window, we should gamble on the likes of Denton, Stokes, Phillips, Mulhearn, Peacock-Farrell even. The likes of Mowatt and Dave need to step up and for a settling in period, Murphy should be inclu6ded at least.

If Taylor stays, at least until January and Bartley and Cooper make a good defensive partnership, then we are winning. Dave, Mowatt, Murphy, Grimes, Phillips all look decent in midfield. Then we have Roofe, Hernandez, the Swedish bloke, Wood, Doukara, Botaka and the other fella who's meant to be quite speedy. Not forgetting the Peacock, Coyle, Denton, Stokes and Mulhern. I'm confident. Down the pints on Sunday morning and cheer on God's team.

Agree regarding McDaid and Dawson. Phillips and Coyle too but moreover, Murphy's experience is needed to steady the ship.
