Absolutely brilliant win yesterday, thought as a team we played as well as I have seen LUFC play for some time. However my "thought of the week" is "why do footballers cheat", very simply, because they are allowed to. At the side where there is no linesman, almost invariably when taking a corner kick, the ball is outside the "D". When taking a throw in, do you ever see the ball thrown in, (and do players actually know how to take a throw in) from where the ball left the field. It is not unusual for a player to advance sometimes upto ten yards. The cheating at freekicks was so blatant, the refs now have to draw a line from where the kick should be taken, and also a line where the players have to stand. Feigning injury is common place, you see it, and all the other fore mentioned on a weekly basis. When oh when is football going to follow most other sports, (rugby league, tennis, cricket) by asking a "third" person to have a look at sometimes a contentious issue. Chelsea yesterday should have had at least two blatant penalties, Burnley should have had the same man sent off twice, it doesn't matter if you hate Chelsea or not, this happens at most games week in week out. Watching Southampton v L'pool, the L'pool keeper was half a yard out of his box when he handled the ball, nothing given, If a video ref been in use, he I have no doubt what so ever, would have seen these "incidents" and the correct decision would have been given.I could go on, I'm sure most of you can add other "incidents" that go unpunished by the refs, (incidentally I think (would you believe) the standard of referees this year has been abysmal), just to finnish, If LUFC don't lose there next two games, I can see Neil Refearn getting Championship manager of the month, but then who gives that prestigious award, is the FL, if it is then I wouldn't put it past them even if we win our next two, to award it to someone else, rant over, MOT

1.) The opposition had 27 attempts and we barely touched the ball . but yeah we played well.

Here's hoping we show a bit more bite on Tuesday.

2.) Smitch don't you think them having so many attempts and us still keeping a clean sheet show our resilience? We've done a double on two promotion contenders, serious ones

3.) A bit more bite? What are you talking about mate? I know we can play and keep hold of the ball better, but its been years since I saw a Leeds team with that much togetherness and BITE! Maybe i've missed your point?

4.) Smitch matey
I was beginning to think your earlier post might have been tongue in cheek but now you are at it again.Pleeeeeeeeease. Can we worry about the pretty football and dominating games when we are boringly mid table in the PREMIERSHIP? Let's just get out of this league by grinding out results even if we are not on top. And I know you don't wanna hear this but I now think we might have the coaching team to get us there, with a few (3 or 4 maybe) astute summer buys. Oh and by the way, despite what I have just said, I think we may well lose to Brighton on Tuesday (thankfully I'm not great at predictions)

5.) Eds lol. Can't we even post swear words now that are censored or have asterisks? My posts are only going to be half as long :)

{Ed003's Note - There was no need whatsoever for swear words,asteriks or not Speedy :) }

6.) Fair enough :)

oapjudge, Sorry not replied earlier, just got back from 3 days in Portugal. The reason why I asked which circuit you were on is let's put it this way, you sent 'em down, & I locked 'em up. Almost ten years ago, I'd had enough of rip off Britain, I moved to Spain for a better life, a much better cost of living, & let's not forget the sun, (no not the paper, that bright object in the sky) Would I go back to England, absolutely not, The lifestyle out here is about 100% better than in the UK. I'll give you just one for example, my monthly water bill is usually between 5/6 euros. Also I get to see teams playing 'football' in La Liga.

Just got back from my local in the village, & we were talking about the LUFC takeover, taking into account there are many supporters of different clubs here, collectively they all felt LUFC belonged in the Premiership.We were talking about the takeover, & one friend posed the question, if Red Bull were to make a 'bid' for LUFC, would it be Red Bull as a company that would have to appear before the FL to prove they are a fit & proper 'person' to run LUFC, or would it have to be an individual, ie the CEO. If it is the company that has to appear before the FL, then why didn't Cellino put his company forward as the buyers of LUFC, & not he as an individual. Putting it like that I imagine it has to be the owner/CEO of the company that has to appear before the FL, sorry it may sound as though I'm rambling, but I've just got back from my monday night at the local putting the world to rights session. For all those reading this in the UK, you may have noticed something very bright, & warm in the sky, It's called the SUN, hasta luego desde Espana

Phil the White, in principle a good idea, the problem is when we are playing away the home supporters won't have a clue what we are on about, also when playing at elland road, the away supporters won't have a clue what we are on about. Perhaps it maybe a better idea to have a "news letter" printed to give to home/away supporters, (if the police will let you) pointing out how we feel the football leaque have a witch hunt against our club. Quotes etc. could be given, pointers could be made. It is our club at the moment the football leaque have this thing against, but suggest it maybe their club who are next in line.

A Pan-European league, in my opinion will be a massive success, very simply if Manchester United can generate a crowd in excess of 70.000 watching the likes of Stoke, Leicester etc, then they are certainly going to fill Old Trafford watching the likes of Barcelona, Rael Madrid, Bayern Munich, every other week.

Oapjudge, ugly direct football is no guarantee of 3 points, no more no less than attractive on the deck football. I know of the two what I would rather watch.Incidentally, where were you a judge?

Bermondsey, I remember well the Howard Wilkinson era, I also remember the direct football we played. In 'those days' that was how football was played. What I am trying to say is, today's good teams (I've already named a few of them) play football on the deck, that is why they are so good. LUFC, this year are trying to play football on the deck, we have some wonderfully talented young players, some have come thru' the academy, some have natural ability to play on the deck football. We all want the best for Leeds, we all want Leeds to win every match, but do you really want to go back to the days of Colin's huff ball boring football. I would sooner we play attractive football & lose a few matches, than play the boring huffball football, ( which we were playing until recently) which is no guarantee of three points anyway.

Bermondsey, I think now you are begining to lose the plot. I am 68, I have supported my 'home' team since the early 60's. I remember well the team & the football Howard Wilkinson put out, so don't even attempt to go down the road of me slating my own team. As for Barca, (i'm assuming that is who you are referring to when you call them several times barac) living in Spain I see Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Valencia etc.etc. on a weekly basis, the football they play is a joy to watch, with managers who know how to play flowing, easy on the eye, inteligent football, no huff ball from these teams.While I agree to some extent, Tony Pulis kept Stoke City in the Prem, his style of football was never to my liking.
