Karl Darlow in talks with Tottenham and ***chester over becoming their backup keeper.

09 Jun 2026 10:19:21
Why would he go to Spurs. Devon possibly attractive cause of dosh and Euro football.

1

09 Jun 2026 11:59:45
Agree, Aus. Onana back from loan from Trab, but he's been told he's not wanted, and Bayindir isn't good - too many mistakes, and not physical enough, so they have Tom Heaton. KD, unfortunately, would be a good back up keeper for them, and at this stage of his career a good last (?) contract.

Newcastle have bought a young keeper from Rennes, so Pope may be off. Don't think he's the answer if KD goes. We'll not get anywhere near what we paid if we sell Perri - everyone knows why we're doing it.
In the end, we might have to fork out for a new keeper.

So, Amps' contract was announced last week, but no sign of Darlow and Struick contract extensions.

Baz, likelihood rating: they are both leaving 7/10.

1

09 Jun 2026 14:39:54
If Leeds and Tottenham are both only offering a backup role, then Tottenham will give better wages and players like to live in London.

0

09 Jun 2026 15:13:00
Don't know if footballers are different from ordinary plebs like me, but I'd have to be paid a massive screw to live in London - detest the place.

3

09 Jun 2026 17:41:15
There was no sign of Amps signing a contract extension until he did, though, Baz.
The 49's tend to do business a lot more discreetly than we have been used to, which is a good thing, imo.

Seeing loads about Ousemane Diomande from Sporting for £50m!? Copyrighted Bright Likelihood rating 4/10 😂.

1

09 Jun 2026 10:20:20
I'm at 2/10. Can't see us spending that much dosh on one player. 35 maybe, but not 50.

1

09 Jun 2026 13:43:38
Haha, Brighty. 😄
But, yours is the less posh 'possibility' version.

1

09 Jun 2026 17:16:04
Lol, Baz!

1

09 Jun 2026 07:17:34
Leeds United are set to sign 16-year-old winger Silva Mexes Tyler-Earnshaw from Manchester United.

Mexes will sign his scholarship with Leeds before signing his first professional contract once he turns 17 early next year.

1

09 Jun 2026 07:42:07
He plays for Thailand. so that's defo something new.

Leeds United's first ever Thai player.

Actually his papa is ex pro Robert Earnshaw, who is the only player ever to score a hatrick in

- the EPL
- the Champo
- Leagues 1 and 2
- the FA Cup
- the League Cup
- an international match
And
- the Champions League.

(OK, just kidding on the Champions League.)

Harry Wilson set to leave Fulham and join Leeds.

2

08 Jun 2026 19:45:32
Says who?

1

08 Jun 2026 20:59:49
If that's true, which I doubt because I think he will end up at Villa, then that's great news.
However, it raises the question of what sort of player we can afford and attract.
We're not in Europe, and we survived relatively comfortably, but we're not big hitters at the moment.
Our recruitment last year was, in the main, very good. DCL, Bijol, Gud, Nmecha, Okafor, Stach were excellent signings. Bournauw, not sure. Perri has his critics, but I'm not as down on him as some posters. The PL is very different from the leisurely style of play in Europe. It takes some time to come to terms with the physicality and speed of English football.

Hopefully, we retain KD and try to bring Perri on.
What puts it into context of where we are in the pecking order is the sums being asked for AMs.
Anderson, Gibbs White, and Wharton are all being quoted at £100m. We need one, but we're looking at £20m to £30m.
It's not all about the big names with the high valuations. It's finding the unrealised gems in the various leagues. We did it very well last year, and hopefully, the recruitment team will repeat the success they had 12 months ago.
We have a limited budget, and we need to keep spending it wisely. If they do that, we'll stay up and progress.

4

09 Jun 2026 07:21:14
Agree, Dune! I'd add that at Villa, he'd be looking at considerable bench time, I think, whereas with us, if he retains form, he'd likely be starting. It depends on his personal priorities, but he wanted to come in January.

1

09 Jun 2026 14:09:50
Still no response from the originator on the source of his rumour. Now that the transfer window is imminent, it appears the self-selected ITK crowd are back pretending they know what's going on when they actually know diddly squat. I'll give it a 9 on the JR bulls*** scale (0 to 10) .

1

09 Jun 2026 17:17:22
Lol JR! An alternative rating system. 😂👏🏼

Coventry bid £20m for on loan Brighton Carl Rushworth.

I think that is still excellent value for the 24 year old English keeper, and a far better option than Nick Pope and an upgrade on Darlow in my opinion.

4

08 Jun 2026 13:22:41
Yep. Here we go again. Outsmarted and outbid by lesser teams.

1

08 Jun 2026 13:46:08
Of course he was on loan to Coventry last season, so a bid from them was virtually inevitable.

5

08 Jun 2026 14:15:17
Brighton have 2 good, very dependable 35 year old gks in Vebruggen and Steele.

But even so, if Brighton were to sell 24 year old Rushworth this summer, that suggests for me they don't rate him that highly.

Brighton are also renowned for getting top dollar from any player sale (rated highly by them or not) , so will be looking for more than £20 million imo.

By the way, Coventry, with Rushworth in a weak standard Champo, were still shipping in a goal per game. 😳

6

08 Jun 2026 15:15:37
Accidentally thumbs upped Class of 92's ridiculous reply. How exactly have we been outsmarted to sign a keeper we have never had any interest in?

1

08 Jun 2026 15:19:11
Rushworth has played nearly 200 games, but not one for Brighton, and I think he's one year left on his contract. Time to cash in Rushworth for good money.
Their current senior keepers are ok, and they have a youngster coming through - James Beadle. He might end up the best of them. Only 19.

4

08 Jun 2026 15:31:43
Hmmmm. That wasn't Class who made that reply. I guess, 'tt' stands for tut tut?

3

08 Jun 2026 16:23:09
Aha, Dune, only one year left on his contract.

In that case, Brighton might not get top dollar for him.

1

08 Jun 2026 16:48:41
Brighton (Matt Ryan) aside, has a fantastic record for signing and developing keepers. Walton, a very good keeper, went to Ipswich for a song. Beadle is highly rated, but, for the supporters, believe it or not, Jason Steele is still far and away the most popular keeper.

Tom McGill is the next keeper to make the next step (loan club) this coming season.

Verbruggen's agent is not hugely popular, as he is constantly trying to market him out to Spuds/Bayern.

Don't think we will actually sign a keeper (actually, I believe we do need one, though) . Karl is a great back up, but we have to look to improve every year if we want to maintain our EPL status.

Nothing in my post about being outsmarted. Just love my club to sign a fantastic young keeper we can rely on for a good few seasons.

2

08 Jun 2026 17:18:40
Baz, one year left on Rushworth's contract, but an option for a further year.

2

09 Jun 2026 07:22:17
They will trigger the extension, thus increasing the sale price.

1

07 Jun 2026 18:16:04
James Marshment: Leeds in talks to sign Kalvin Phillips for £25m.

3

07 Jun 2026 18:36:10
You're aving a larff. 🤣😂🤣😂

0

07 Jun 2026 18:56:45
May be worth $2.5 now TBH.
Has shown no sign of EPL standard since he left Leeds, sadly.

3

07 Jun 2026 19:49:07
KP, in 2020/21 EPL and at the Euros in 2021, was superb. England Player of the Tournament.

But serious injuries since have scuppered his career. We did very well indeed to get £45 million off Citeh.

Likelihood rating nil.

Silly clickbait, one of many.

3

07 Jun 2026 21:14:30
Don't be daft.

3

07 Jun 2026 21:23:36
It's not April Fools Day.

3

08 Jun 2026 01:03:30
Despite the fact that Man City have reportedly offered him around 400K, with no takers.

3

08 Jun 2026 01:15:49
Incidentally, is Ausman3 any relation to Ausman2, or is it just an end of season relegation?
Ausman4 next year. 🙂

5

08 Jun 2026 01:25:17
Funny. I have a secret admirer. I have my suspicions about what nutter it is. 😬

2

08 Jun 2026 06:09:29
Peabutt nutter?

4

08 Jun 2026 09:28:09
Hope they female and young and curves in all the right places. May well get a treat if they are. I might be lucky bright.

2

08 Jun 2026 20:29:08
That would be Auswoman36:24:36 then.

0

07 Jun 2026 11:15:59
Some small rumours that we're in for Said El Mala with Brentford and Brighton.

This kid is a joke. would be an unbelievable signing if we can get involved. He'll be big money, but young though.

2

07 Jun 2026 13:03:27
Not convinced until Peanut gives it the nod.

3

07 Jun 2026 13:10:06
🤣 Aus.

2

07 Jun 2026 18:14:24
Not convinced until Aus tells us that an F-tier reporter has said we have interest.

3

05 Jun 2026 23:21:09
Wilson close to signing according to Joe Tiffany on X.

2

06 Jun 2026 00:34:07
I'd take that!

3

06 Jun 2026 00:42:46
Would be very good but unlikely imo.

2/10 likelihood.

What huge salary is he and his agent after, for starters?

And, are there not other bigger, higher salary paying clubs also in the race to sign him.. Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs, Overseas etc.

3

06 Jun 2026 00:58:54
Would be nice if a player was interested in the project, and has some loyalty for a team that was prepared to pay for him, as well as wanting to play with his mates.
I agree with Baz, it's a low probability, but would improve us significantly, I'd say.

3

06 Jun 2026 01:13:46
He was close to signing for us in Jan, but it didn't happen then, so is it more likely to happen now? Given the past unreliability of the source, I'll not be holding my breath.

3

06 Jun 2026 06:42:41
I'm gonna have to add a copyright on the likelihood / possibility rating system, I'm afraid, Baz. Can't have you stealing that one. 😬😂

3

06 Jun 2026 07:21:42
Brighty, 😆
But seeing as my version is a significant upgrade improvement on your version; BazCorp has already obtained the copyright.

2

06 Jun 2026 09:32:38
Joe Tiffany is the biggest wind-up merchant around, can ignore whatever he says, 100% nonsense

4

06 Jun 2026 10:08:54
Yep, thought it was uber unlikely, PeanutKing, or PK.

2

£100k per week and a free transfer, so affordable. He wants regular game time, and being with his mates from the national team are both draws.

3

05 Jun 2026 14:20:49
Karl Darlow expected to leave the club following an offer from Tottenham.

2

05 Jun 2026 17:33:25
What offer?
Very bad news if true.
Likelihood rating 2/10.

3

05 Jun 2026 18:32:38
That Spurs rumour has been bouncing around for a few days. If we make a fair offer, and he's our no. 1, he'll stay. He won't be no. 1 at Spurs. I think he's done enough this season to deserve a decent contract. He didn't start off as no. 1, but he didn't sulk, and he took the opportunity when it came.

4

05 Jun 2026 19:55:04
He may not be number one at Spurs, but, if, as expected, we look for a new goalkeeper, he won't be number one here either. It will all come down to who offers him the most financially attractive deal. He's now 35, so his next deal, wherever it is, will likely be his last, certainly at Premier League level.

3

05 Jun 2026 20:12:50
Doesn't matter if he's not number 1 at Spurs, at his age they'll defo be offering him more cash.

2

05 Jun 2026 20:16:27
Leeds allegedly after a new gk, you say?

That would be ok if Leeds United recruitment were adept at doing so, but let's not forget, Underwood and Co brought us the most very underwhelming, at times calamitous, Lucas Perri last season, and for a large transfer fee.

I therefore have very little to zero confidence in them recruiting a good gk (s) this summer.

Darlow should defo remain Leeds United number 1 gk for the next 2 seasons, and as such, be rewarded with a very good new 2 year LUFC contract.

4

05 Jun 2026 20:43:37
Agree, Baz. There's the old adages: 'better the devil you know' and 'if it's not broke, don't mend it'. Darlow has done ok, and where do you find a keeper for next to nothing? Trafford, Ramsdale, etc.

are £20m plus, and Pope is a cheaper alternative, but is he any better? If we want to get rid of Perri, which I don't, then keep Darlow, and get Dubravka for a small fee as no. 2.

4

05 Jun 2026 20:48:19
Indeed Dune.
Both old adages apply here.
#very concerned. 😟

3

06 Jun 2026 09:33:28
Baz, so you don't think we can sign a good keeper even though 90% of our summer business was great?

2

06 Jun 2026 10:58:51
PK, I have alluded to this before. Leeds United recruitment of gks in the recent past has been woeful, with the exception of Karl Darlow. It has been woeful, and Underwood, Marathe and Co continued that with signing Perri.

We have had
Perri, Meslier, Kiko, Klaessen and Wieldwald..

2

06 Jun 2026 11:00:27
And steady on our summer business being 'great'.. It was overall quite good.

2

06 Jun 2026 16:40:23
Funny ain't it that in years past we had some of the best goalkeepers around. David Harvey, David Stewart, John Lukic, Mervyn Day, Paul Robinson, Kasper Schmeichel, Paddy Kenny, Rob Green, plus the one that got away, David Seaman, and the best of the lot, Nigel Martyn.

4

06 Jun 2026 17:39:15
Ten excellent Leeds United goalkeepers there JR (We're claiming Leeds United youth keeper David Seaman. He is proper Leeds, and has always been a huge Leeds United fan.)

Other talented Leeds United goalkeepers (apart from the obvious Gary Sprake) .

1) Neil Sullivan. very reliable and saved a lot of penalties for Leeds from memory.

2) Scott Carson had a good (ish) career.

And

3) A Leeds United goalkeeper before our time.
Called Jimmy Potts.
A giant of a goalkeeper, a very good shotstopper, with 71 clean sheets in 263 appearances, apparently.

2

07 Jun 2026 09:29:17
I'd quite forgotten Neil Sullivan - another one to add to the list. Scott Carson was Ok, but always second fiddle to Robinson at Leeds, and never became numero uno anywhere. The mention of Paul Robinson reminded me of a League Cup game against Swindon in 2003. We were 2:1 down, going into added-on time, and the Swindon players were all getting ready to celebrate a giant killing.

Then Paul Robinson came up for a corner, scored a terrific headed goal to level the score, and then saved a pen in the subsequent shoot-out to win the tie. Norman Hunter was guest expert on BBC Radio Leeds that night, and his reaction to the goal was priceless.

3

07 Jun 2026 13:10:54
Scott Carson, 469 appearances, JR.

2

07 Jun 2026 13:53:20
Pretty sure Scott Carson was numero uno at Derby and West Brom.. probably others too as he has 469 appearances.

2

07 Jun 2026 16:42:06
You're right about Scott Carson, Baz. Serve me right for relying on my dodgy memory. I remember people who play for Leeds better than those who play for other clubs.
