Media reporting that Sharp will not sign for Sheff. unless he gets a pay off from us. Is it just me or does any one else think its obscene that they are on good money, get a cut of the transfer or a signing on fee and they still want more. He is 29 and can go and make a name for himself still on good money but would rather hold us to ransom and sit in reserves and this time next year be playing in league 2. Morrison will be next.

agree if they were worth the wage they wouldn't be flogged. it is the only job where you can do poorly the employer wants to get rid and still expect a pay off and pay rise. it is the same with managers

Bermo, you so right. These footballers aren't really employees. More like tradeable assets.

To say he is a scum player is bang out of order. You don't know what's happening behind the scenes, when he's put on the shirt he's give his all even though he's been played out of position. Wait and see Jedi

I'm with you Dougie. I think in the times he had represented us he has given his all and in a formation that didn't suit his style. I like the guy, I think he plays with passion and know what we as Leeds fans expect.

So it seems sharp will only leave for a big pay out. Doesn't this show only money will drive him out and he wants to stay with us. Rosler has stated that sharp is part of his plans and billy is a workhorse put so much effort in for the club last year. He will score so many goals alongside wood if given the chance

Come on, we're all friends here.

Personally, I think Sharp is proven and if Antennuci has a bit of second season syndrome we may value him more than we know.

I would love to get some more pace in the side but we have to question the expense.

I'm not a fan of player power whatsoever but how good actually is this lad at Sheff Utd?

Is he worth the cash if we have to pay out Billy?

FRom day one I have said that Billy Sharp was apanic buy probably to appease the fans. His best days are well behind him and we would not, in my opinion, be worse off if we played any of our other strikers in his place - including possibly one of the youngsters. Wood, Erwin, Antanucci, Doukara + any of the up and coming younsters are at least as good or better than sharp. It would be worth it in both the long and short term to let him go. United have Morison as well on the payroll. These players are a drain in more ways than one.

Maybe sharp will have a second season syndrome too if he stays, who knows?

well said after all he came form Donny and he is slow we need better and morison out . need goal scorer to move forward

Morison definitely needs to move on, the only advantage in keeping him would be for him to help Wood develop as at one time he was a decent striker.

Youth striking options look great. I'd love to see Walters get a go and at some point I'm sure he will.

What price would you take for Sharp?

No point playing Sharp, unless dare I say it, you play with wingers. The reason he scored a few at Doncaster was because they played with wingers. He's a finisher, give him the service and he'll finish, otherwise hell yeah , sell him

It amazes me that people defend Sharp and badmouth Morison. Sharp has only ever had a respectable tally at Lg1 level (6-7 seasons ago no less)whereas Morison has put in 20+ at Championship. He may never put in a season like that again (though to be fair he came in at the tail end of last season after having at least a year out of first team football so who really knows)but he can help along Wood and Erwin who play a similar game and he is maybe the best forward on the books at helping shut a game out (ie he can hold up a ball and offers an option when defending set pieces and corner). For me Wood is first choice, Erwin or Antenucci plan B with Morison as the defensive change to see the game out. Sharp needs to go, He may try really hard but so did Hunt. Hard work is redundant if you bring less to the team than the other options.
