Clarke reportedly off to Spurs this week for £8.5m upfront rising to £13 plus possible loan back for the season. I think that i probably the best we can expect.

I’m sorry I disagree vehemently. £8.5m plus add ons is a steal . It would just be another one to add to the list of young talents under sold by a mix of mercenary / potless Leeds owners . Underlining the fact that until we get an owner prepared to invest we will continue to be an also ran “ selling “ club . Rads has no brass further evidenced by the fact he’s caving on the £20 m asking price . £15 m with most of it up front should have been realistically obtainable .

I agree with you RHC to the extent that we have no money. That's obvious to anyone by what is being done and said by the club.

I don't agree that we have necessarily caved in, however. Anyone who has ever negotiated knows that the 'asking price' set is not the price you will sell at - the buying party then come with a lower offer and you agree to sell somewhere between the two prices.

If you think we shouldn't have got less than £20mil then the asking price should probably have been set at £25-£30mil.

Were we going to get full asking price? Never.
Should we have got more? Probably.
Has Rado got any money to invest in players? No.

Think he’s been bulled up a lot by Leeds fans, 1 season, or half a season in reality and unproven at any level are we going to try convince ourselves he's really worth £20 million? What’s he done to get this price tag? In my opinion and it’s only my opinion he’s easily replaced for a fraction of the price and possibly for nothing if we look at Stevens in the under 23,s.

Got to agree with Red. When I read Freeman to Blades. No interest in O'dowda then see we are giving away one of our prized assets for peanuts. Tottenham should be charged with theft! Maybe we should have asked for 25mill (bit of a joke price really) but to price at 20, there be talk of 15 (I even heard 12mill) then everyone says it's 8mill (with addons) they are only taking a tiny gamble on a kid with huge potential. If he falls on his face they have only lost 8mill. Little chance of that. but he is a whizz even then I am thinking they will only have to shell out a further 3mill in add ons. A steal indeed. No, the kid has had his head turned by a quadrupled salary. A life of bright lights, fast cars girls and sherbert dabs awaits.

TTIAO, I am with you on this one.

Jack Clarke has played less than a couple of dozen games for us, and scored less than a handful of goals. He wasn't the first choice pick in his favoured position.

Got to say, if anything close to £10m down, AND add-ons to come, is on the table then I think this is a good deal.

Can anyone name any other youngster in the Championship, with so little experience and final product, that has been sold for these sorts of figures?

I totally agree that Clarke has the potential to become and England international and quadruple his value BUT Leeds United have the potential to be a Premier League team too. I want Leeds to realise their potential a lot more than Jack Clarke to realise his.

Get us back to the Promised Land and I can see Clarke, Cook and Delph wanting back on board of the "Biesla Train"
(I am already looking at portable hot tubs that can work within the confines of a standard railway carriage)
