Ayling injured let's go buy another RB. Same for Roofe I reckon? The squad a few senior pros light? Surely Rad should pick up around three from premier league clubs, players who won't get game time for their teams. Any three, or maybe even four, will do.

Ok I'm being a little sarcastic but you see my point?
Last January we only brought in Casillas either because we couldn't acquire the players needed/ Bielsa wanted or maybe the goalkeeper was all MB wanted.
Last season most on here predicted a top half finish and one or two fancied top six. Ok my memory is not what it was but I'm pretty sure nobody said they expected automatic promotion.

It's too early to say if the first eleven will be stronger this season but I'm sure the squad absolutely is. And if the young lad on loan from Brighton steps up to the mark then we will be marching on together!

Things are more messed up then I thought, we are in serious need of a Centre half maybe 2 and another striker. So I expect that our last signing will be some average central midfielder on loan. The sooner Radz sells the club the better expect Bielsa to be gone before January.

I remember when Bielsa said that he would not be able to get as good a season out of the same players this time around. That comment lead me to believe we would have a significant overhaul. Christ was I wrong.

As this season draws closer, from a standpoint of not wanting to be negative about for my hopes on this coming season, I find that iam more torn or confused than ever. The efforts of the last season should have put me in the positive camp, a good effort, better than expected at the beginning of the season and solid platform to build on. On closer reflection, I feel we haven't really strengthen a squad that had already come up short. Yes we have some good young players coming through which is a plus, but feel our management are blinkered. Personally I've trying to stay calm and realistically temper my expectations. I've been a Leeds fan since the early 1970's so like many others on this site experienced highs and lows. I just want to see my club back in the big time where they belong, we have the infrastructure to be there, but don't believe our present owner will be the one to steer us. Heart says we can go up, but head says it won't happen again this year. Always hoping, always wanting.

Sorry but already we have Roofe and Ayling out. We do have Gotts who is more than capable but unlikely to be picked and Berardi who is getting past his best but i think it likely Dallas will get the nod. Berardi will be back up CB. Think Bamford will play scoring or not and Edmo will sat fuming. Stronger squad, not on your life. I am usually an optimistic guy and last season knew we would be top six. Sadly some of the decisions being taken are making me doubt our ability to be up there all season again. I reckon come Jan we will be chasing 6th place unless players like Edmo, Shacks and Gotts are given a proper chance and amaze us all, as we are not going to buy anyone else are we. If we start with Dallas then nothing has been learned.

We haven't bought anybody bielsa, the signings we have made are all loans. Radz said this would be a difficult window, well up to now he is bang on as far as us fans are concerned. Like most on here I talk to fans of other Clubs, and some find it bizzare that we never sign anybody, especially after going so close last year. As I have said before, I hope there will be a surprise or two before the window closes, but I doubt it.

It doesn’t matter! It’s about playing good football and nothing else, as we are told to believe, not matter who starts, just in joy the game.

Although I accept Cork's point about knee jerk reactions to bringing in players who are injured, the point has been missed that we have a squad of senior players who have poor injury records. The usual suspects are Roofe, Forshaw, Ayling, Berardi, Cooper, Dallas and the ever so fragile Roberts. The season has not started in ernest and we already have Roofe, Forshaw, Roberts and Ayling injured with Dallas playing with a bandage on his head! What does the fraility of our squad equate to? Square pegs in round holes. Berardi (a right back) being cover for the centre backs, the world's only defensive winger in Dallas now being a right back.

I hear the cry "We can use Gotts from the U23's at right back". Bielsa would rather move one of his chosen matchday squad than bring in someone from the U23s. At least we may get to see more of Shackleton, although at right back he is wasted however he will have to wait until Dallas is out with an inevitable injury. We have learned absolutely nothing from last season with the club's hierarchy believing that the majority of our injury problems last season were down to bad luck, it appears that we are not having much luck again. Coincidence? I think not.

With the addition of Costa and the likes of Shackleton and Clarke a year further ahead I believe the squad is stronger. Ideally another CB would be great but if White does the business and we don’t get as many injuries as last season we have every chance of top two.

First rate post NottsWhite . They all have their heads in the sand and that must include Bielsa! We will probably start pretty well as MB always makes the most of pre - season ( although Radz has done his utmost to ruin even that with his money making trips ) and the positive / up Radz’ arse brigade will be giving it large . But this squad is not built to last and I’m sick to death of all the bitter disappointments. I shall obviously continue to support but will not get my hopes up even if we are up there at Xmas , as it will all be built on shakey foundations.

Injuries to our current playing squad are inevitable. We are again gambling on the hope that we don't get too many. An injury to Cooper or White and we are stuck with Berardi as centre back, it is also likely that Berardi will play a fair number of games of centre back. Prolonged injury to Ayling will lead to Dallas being our regular right back.

We should not have to make do with "jack of all trades" in key defensive positions. You can probably get away with it further up the field. Although you cannot win games through having a strong defence you can definitely lose games through not having a good defence.

Valid points Notts. I know Beradi can be a liability at times with his hot headed nature but at the start of last season he was very good at CB while Jansson was out injured and may have kept Jansson out of the team had he stayed fit himself.

Agreed Cork, but he was also part of the downfall against Derby but getting sent off.
