Gutted to hear about bury so sad to see that happen to any club

Make me realise how lucky I am to still have a club to love even if I do moan about them a lot

Must say really sad as well as I believe burys admin problem will result in a 25 point deduction for Leeds united if Bolton go the same way the second points decudtion may see Leeds in a relegation dog fight.

It’s hard one, small teams suffer but guess it’s always been like this and sadly football is a business. Same in my trade with big films and West end shows making millions and fringe theatre and independent film sturggling

I don’t like it but sadly football is a business just feel sorry for the fans who love thier club, not sure what I’d do if Leeds went under as outside of boxing I don’t like any other teams or sports.

Far too much money goes to the PL teams, and it’s going to be a sadly common situation going forward at the lower end of the football hierarchy. Much more money should be ploughed into the lower leagues, and grass roots football, to build the sport as a whole, rather than the pockets of club Chairmen and overpaid players. It’s something that has made my blood boil for a long time now!

It can't be long until one of the 72 clubs has to fold forever. There are just too many clubs in England to sustain with transfer fees, wages and agent fees increasing and the rising costs of the sport.

FFP is a step in the right direction but still looks after the clubs with more revenue than anyone else.

Some of the smaller clubs like Bury should really combine with other clubs to ensure longer term survival, particularly in areas where there is more than one club such as Notts County becoming one with Notts Forest, Bristol City and Rovers combining, Fulham and QPR and of course Man Utd being swallowed up by much bigger club Citeh.

Good idea Alf and surely the obvious answer.
However as a fan of factory gates United all my life and so was my dad and so was his dad, etc. etc. My life would end if you took it away. I just could not bring myself to cheer the players or wear any colour from that little team down the road.
It will happen and it should happen but the sort of clubs in enough trouble to even consider it is where the true dyed in the wool supporters reside. It is those I will feel sorry for (as I will for all Bury supporters if the worse happens) . let's hope a generous buyer comes along and turns it around.

They have an unfortunate club name. Perhaps it's fate.

Tory, yes, totally. But it will never happen thankfully.
And great post Leodis, totally true.
If I won the euro lottery, I’d buy Bury. Too old and too much history to let them go under. Sad times.
