If Klich had scored his penalty and Bamford had scored one of his good chances the comments on here wouldn't have been so scathing from some. Point is the game plan produced enough opportunities to win the game comfortably, even if just the penalty had gone in, we would have won 2-0! I was upset as anyone but it's not the end of the world and hardly shows we are playing crap football.

Bielsa isn't going to be sacked and we're not going to buy a Razor Ruddock look alike at CB. This is the way we are going to play until promotion is secured or impossible! Think Bielsa is perfectly capable of changing Bamford for Eddie or playing two up front but he'll do iit when he thinks it is right. I've still got more confidence this year than I had last.

Onwards and upwards!

Maybe we can persuade the EFL to let isn’t go up on chances created? Sadly at present teams who succeed go up on goals scored and points earned - not ifs and buts and mis-firing strikers.

We have a better keeper. A better CB. A better squad. A better and more experienced bunch of young players.

Wex

1) better keeper
2) more depth at fullbacks
3) centrebacks that epitomise 'side before self'
4) midfielders who have had a year of understanding and implementing new tactics
5) more depth at wingers.

i am the biggest moaner on the site but fullbacks is 100% spot on

biggest plus of this season is dallas been quality and foreshaw

more depth at wingers as well (if mb changes them at any point)

CB is a huge minus though, no depth either we are two injuores away from a crisis.

Alf, the teams that go up automatically are the ones that sit in first and second place which despite the ifs and buts and mis firing strikers is exactly where we are! imagine what it will be like when the strikers fire and the ifs and buts become the yeses! Wex, I think we have greater strength in depth this year for all the reasons the guys above have given. I still think we are a work in progress but no bad thing, there is still a long way to go. I’m sure I’m not going to convince you or Bermondsey and we’ll just have to wait until the season end until we see who is right.

This is the third consecutive season that we have been in this position at this time in September, for me third time lucky!

What if a CB gets injured.

Beradi, Ayling, Davis, Struick not mentioning KP. Those are CB options, you might not like them, but they are there. Yep CB errors and changes could cause us to concede some goals but that’s not what will be key to success or failure with this side. We need to take more opportunities that we are creating, simple! If any team misses chances like we did on Saturday including a penalty then they could easily lose never mind draw! I honestly don’t think there is much wrong with the game plan. Despite the frailties with some defending, we are generally tight at the back, dominating games and creating opportunities. Klich penalty goes in, the game is won and they might not even have scored! 2 points more and 2 good better, that’s sometimes how Tight the margins are!

spanish every option you mention there is shockingly S@@t at CB, a bad option is not an option

as for convincing me nothing will, you shouldn't try mate your watsing your positive enrgy on a lost cuase. the table will convince me in may and not before as at the moment what i have seen on the pitch makes me think same old. and we all know how that song plays out.

Exactly we have been here for the last 2 years and not made it so when we are throwing away points after points I am very concerned. come the end of the season these points we are throwing away will probably be the difference between success and failure and for me we should be 4/5 points clear now not level pegging.

the points also have a massive impact on the chasing pack mentally who will all but give up if the gap widens to a significant amount and also teams that we play against. everyone will be looking at our results now thinking we are there for the taking rather than wetting themselves seeing that we take teams to the cleaners every week. in the course of a season this all matters so its all very well saying 'we are top now' but we are showing we are vulnerable, do not score enough and concede silly goals at stupid times.

as for anyone who thinks the keeper is better? He didn't stop Swansea, Forest or Derby scoring and if you want to blame the defence that's fine as well - look no further than Cooper for a weak link. Together Cooper and Kiko cost us promotion last season and will do it again this season.

well said alf my thoughts exactly

i get that fans can have blind faith. but i don't know how anyone can be confident this year will be different. on what eveidence. people say we are top. so what we have been top before and chucked it away and from what i have seen this year we have the same problems as before (not scoring enough) and have added a few new ones (set play defending and general defening)

i respect peoples optomisim but for me i just don't get it.
