So many good posts in here and it just means we all care

We got international break now which might do us a favour

Personally I think we got the players I just hate the system and style which like recent arsenal teams is made to look nice not win games and pick up points

I would love to see us revert back to a simple style . back to basics and see how we do

4-4-2 with aling stukij white Douglas
Costa shack foreshaw aloksi
Bamford Eddie

This team has legs energy and will be harder to break down the football won’t be pretty but will be quick and effective and should pick up more points I. This league

Plus Pablo Phillips edmondson on bench to offer bit of quality or different options

Will never see it happen but I think that team would frighten most due to pace and no one would enjoy playing due to energy and effort

Bit less wengre but more Willko.

I know exactly what you are saying Bermo. Arsenal are my second team, since Wenger. Beautiful to watch but never guaranteed winners. Played, by far, the best football but never guaranteed winners. let's hope Marcelo finds the magic formula that turns our football/ possession into a bagfull of goals. We could argue a bit on lineup (Alioski, Philips) but I like the sentiment.

I like the sentiment too Bermo, but like you say, it will never happen pal.

Berm I see your point regarding arsenal but you could easily say man city., it’s just easier to say wengers arsenal.

difference between city and leeds and arsenal is city reach there objectives arsenal and leeds so far fail by comparision.

city are city while they win the league (although corners at near post and iffy defending has cost them this year) arsenal and leeds are soft touches

if we go up this year we will stop being compared to arsenal and start being compared to city. success like opinions and 'likenings' are all comparative.

I don’t think our midfield are good enough for 442. We would get overrun. Maybe 352 but can’t see 442 working out well.

Occasionally I feel BW should be challenged for some of the hyperbole he comes out with.

i agree alf it could get over run but think forwshaw shack and aliskio might just be good enough

i would prefer 3-5-2 but we would need at least two more centrebacks as at the moment we only got white

Bazooka my opinions are my opinions but i am always happy to have them challenged.

Sorry, but I don't think 442 can work these days. Fullbacks are no longer fullbacks. They are wingbacks expected to get forward on an overlap. You have say for instance Chapman and Wallace up front with what was the best midfield at the time behind them with Strachan McCalister Batty Speed and it wouldn't work! You look at all the top teams now and they have a 3 forward line. City, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid (Both) Because they can control and dictate play with the extra man in midfield. The wingers as we knew them before turn into inside forwards on the attack. The fullbacks into wingers essentially.

I would like to add to that with Bowyer who has done a fantastic job a Charlton which he has played 2 forwards the majority of times, and said it was always how he had known in his playing days the game to be played. I'm not contradicting myself because the difference is Bowyer has the team well drilled and I believe George did mention it about Bowyer's team would be full of energy because as a player he always was. It was never 442 with them though when we played them. They did fantastic to stop us wide and I could never see us scoring. Casillia made the mistake and will make many more. It gave them the goal and I could never see us scoring at all.

I'll give George food for thought and some others. O'Leary had his back four that never conceded a goal but only played 10 games together. That is 10 clean sheets. It was Mills Ferdinand Woodgate Matteo. We had Harte on the bench who was one of the best goal threats from a freekick. So what do you change? For instance I think Douglas is a threat from a set piece but Alioski is at the moment playing as a better defender and managing to put the ball in the net and cross where Harrison doesn't. Despite being kicked every chance anyone gets at him.

Leeds Malta I’m with you on this 4-4-2 is very 1980,s and if it didn’t work they would all blame bielsa or radz or whoever is this weeks target.

i agree with you malta and afl

I don't think 4-4-2 is the way forward but think it might be worth a go until window

i'd love to see us play 3-5-2 but we only have 1 fit CB at the club and i never want to see beradi in a leeds shirt again unless it is next to me as a fan in the stands (in which case i'd buy him a pint as top bloke just got the footballing brain of a toddler)

i don't see how 3-5-2 works with current sqaud?

maybe aling, white, stuijk
dallas alioksi wingbacks
shacks forwshaw costa/ pablo
eddie bamford

3-5-2 i think would encourage KP playing as CB and to be honest i think play 3-3-1 would be better than KP in our back line.

worth saying 4-4-2 is working for the very functional burley who have been punching above their weight for years now.

i do agree it is not the best way but with what we have at the moment it might be the best answer.
