And so, the Millwall captain has been wheeled out to say it's 'swings and roundabouts' with regard to the Berardi incident. You win some, you lose some - and in this case they definitely won one. That's probably about as close to an admission of guilt as we're going to get from them (I'm glad he said it though) so we need to move on. Trouble is, it'll happen again against another team. Defend for your life and if that doesn't work, feign injury or dive. We ought to be flattered I suppose. Bielsa has raised both the performance of the team and our expectations to such an extent that we are again there to be shot at. The vested interests don't want us going up. SKY because they want to keep their big fish in the little pond for revenue purposes. The EFL because it is run by the Chairmen of other clubs who grew up enviously watching Don Revie's Leeds (and who know what we could become if we do go up) and their players, who are the sons of men who grew up enviously watching Don Revie's Leeds - or Dirty Leeds as my Chelsea supporting pal calls us - even having seen footage of Ron Harris trying to cut George Best and Eddie Gray (amongst others) in half with scything tackles to stop them scoring! I might also add that the similarities between Revie and Bielsa are clear to see - Revie with his detailed dossiers, Bielsa with his detailed data, they both look after their players and are trying to bring people through the ranks and neither will tolerate big time Charlie's. The only glaring difference at the moment is that Revie went all out to get a lethal finisher - Allan Clarke. And really, that's our next step but that is down to AR. The thing that will take us out of the reach of those vested interests is that little bit more quality. Nothing they do will be able to stop us winning enough points to go up. We have never replaced Saiz and his killer final pass that all that build up play deserves and we then need a lethal striker to benefit from that pass (and we may already have him sitting on the bench - or even already playing at number 9) . They need to spend in January to replace that lost flair. My gut instinct makes me think they are going to - or take some investment to allow them to. They wouldn't be giving these 4 year contracts to people if they didn't have a bigger picture - that's financial lunacy and I'm not sure AR is into that. We talk about Dwight Gayle and he is exactly the type but he also seems to be injured a lot lately. We need to replace Saiz and see what Eddie and Bamford can do with that type of service or if they don't think Eddie is physical enough, go and get someone who they think is. He's gone to Southampton now but the likes of Danny Ings would have a field day. As Neil Jeffries said, Love Hurts and this is the longest and greatest romance I have ever been involved with. We live in hope (but I will always return to ER, no matter where we are and no matter that ER hasn't got a clue who I am and probably cares even less) . On On On!

Saiz only played when the sun shone

No good in England over a long season sadly

Hernandez is a much better player and club servant.
