The season must be finished, it would cause too many legal cases if not allowed to finish.
You cannot just write of the efforts of clubs and teams who have played 37 of 46 fixtures.
There are various solutions, one being if there are no matches played in March and we then extend the normal season to 16th May playing Wednesday and Saturday that gives you 7 Weds and 7 Sats, 14 dates in total to play 9 fixtures. After the players have rested up for over two weeks it should not be too big a problem. Play 4 games over a fortnight, allow a weeks rest another 4 games over a fortnight with another weeks rest before the final fixture. No play offs top 3 go up, bottom 3 relegated.

Leeds can’t see that it will, we have no assurance that even after 3 April that any games will be played, I think Liverpool will be awarded the PL and Leeds with WB will be promoted to PL. This will move down to the other leagues.

1970 - couple of issues there. Firstly, it's highly unlikely football will actually return at the beginning of April. The number of cases of Covid-19 aren't expected to peak until June at the earliest. It would seem fairly likely that footballers and other club staff will continue to become infected, so even behind doors would not be possible. Secondly, you say the season must be completed so as to avoid possible legal cases, then go on to suggest the play-offs be scrapped - with top three going up. so this wouldn't prompt legal cases from the teams placed 4-6?

Vinny without being dramatic if all 67 million in the UK get it at the current fatality rate of 3%, 2.1 million could die from it. so i massively disagree, more to life than football, this my friend is a world war until it get nipped in the bud. MOT more than ever.

Personally I believe if it came it I don’t see why 9 games can’t be played in three weeks. At least everyone be in the same boat so to speak. However I’m confident that the remaining games will be played June July.

Well said Dougie mate. I’ve been informed over here in Ireland that come Tuesday it’s a total lockdown. Army and cops on patrol and everything closed apart from chemists and supermarkets will have a limit on people. I find it strange Boris’ decision schools etc.

Death rate will become lower once it averages out but still life and death is a big thing. Legally cases will happen all over the place leeds wang up villa won’t come down

Answer has to be season played out at later date and summer break don’t happen or everyone is happy meaning teams go up but don’t come down

I think they will do us with one off play offs so top play bottom second play second bottom and we will choke and get beat by Norwich and Wong go up think that is how they use to do it and think it did is a m in the day

Even when things go well leeds go wrong the don was right it’s a gysy curse . I blame the wife’s family.

Cork, isolating everyone at home in a lockdown now is madness as the virus has not peaked in Britain yet. We are weeks behind the rest of mainland Europe. If people were to stay home for a few weeks now and then come out thinking all is well then the level of the virus is likely to spike and the nhs is unlikely to cope. As a support worker who has to support vaunerable people, a lockdown won't work. Healthcare workers will be needed to continue regardless of the virus. So keeping kids at school for now is the right call in Mainland britain, try keeping school age teens in home if they were off school.

You maybe right Mez. But you may be wrong. I think if you asked the Italians they’d say you were probably wrong. Then again the UK is a totally different case to Ireland.

Dougie those numbers are less than the regular flu. Any mild illness can be fatal when you're above a certain age or have a weak immune system. IMO it's a complete joke that football has been suspended.

Vinney i get your point but just looking at current UK deaths to confirmed cases so far, that is the maths.

I came back from benidorm on Saturday and it was carnage at airport, jet2 cancelled fights in mid air and to top it off i am now showing symptoms of the virus, hopefully just a cold though. 🤞.
