After yesterday… I realize I never ever want to go though that again… I want us to aspire and not to repeat the mistakes… Radz said as much yesterday.

Sign 3 or 4 quality (LB, CDM, CAM*! and striker) while keeping Raph and KP then we could challenge for Europa league next season.

Also… assuming Drameh, Cresswell, Hjelde, Greenwood and Summerville all kick on, we could be in good nick to have a European campaign season after next.

But we have to aspire to do this and have the backing as well as the business model to be sure we don’t fall foul of FFP.

We can probably sell £20-25 million and clear some wages… but I reckon we’ll need to spend £75 Million upwards and hold onto the quality we have.

And we need a 60,000 seater stadium in order to challenge “the big 7” (big 6 plus Newcastle) .

This is what it’ll take to “realize the dream”… to be thriving well above mid table and/ or the drop zone… as we don’t in our life times ever want to go there again.

(* assume aaronson is this for now)

Has the bluffer spoken Toronto,? I only seen him bigging it up at full time, haven't heard him address the farce he created this season yet!

A very good experienced Number 1 GK ( Nick Pope would be awesome) Meslier number 2 still very young for a gk

1st choice LB
2 CMS,
CAM Pablo. type with very good goals and assists record .
Does this Aaranson have good goal and assist stats?
2 strikers minimum.

Like the idea of a veteran keeper to help Meslier but not to displace him. Something similar happened I think to him at Lorient and a big part of why he wanted to leave. Pope is a No.1 and would cost £20m (too much compared to other needs in the team) . Mccarthy, Forster, Foster, Begovic are all out of contract and some there would likely accept backing up Meslier whilst keeping him honest but also supporting him. A new left back, two new mids (of which Aaronson might be one) , and a new striker seem on the agenda before spending significant fees on a new keeper.

Aaronson had 10 goals and 6 assists in all club comps last season including 2 in 2 against Bayern Munich. So not bad but always hard to tell.

I'd take a couple leaders in midfield like Oriol Romeu (1yr left on his Southampton deal) and James Milner - so many including myself think this is too romantic and how much use but epitomises a true pro and changes the game for Liverpool when he comes on. A great role model even just for a yr or two if he came. Romeu would add some protection in front of the back four and could play with or be backup for Kal. two or three from Phillips, Milner, Romeu, Klich, Aaronson, Forshaw and Bate and Kenneh as developing/ backup is a lot more depth and quality than what we have at present and doesn't cost a load fee wise leaving some space to improve elsewhere. Those thinking we can return to Top 10 in one season are too optimistic and if we can finish 15th or better next year I'll be happy.

Toronto We require a net spend closer to £150M. Goalkeeper, central defender, left back, defensive midfield, central midfield, attacking midfield, striker plus another striker.

Veteran Gk on a free would be good, loan out klassen
Any thoughts on Target, do Villa want him back, is he what Newcastle want, think he ain't a bad choice, and his clearance yesterday from cork was top draw.
Also heard from a Spud that Conte wants 2 world class wing backs, Sessignon on loan maybe,
MOT.

I posted a similar list about a month ago, but these are the level of players we should be going for, not settling for a player who will be 37 in Jan and is paid £140k per week, or a limited 30 year old who could possibly be back up to KP. Sorry to be rude but those are poor propositions. We need to and should aim higher.

Sam Johnstone (free)
Ola Aina
Brenden Aaronsen
Seko Fofana
Lukas Nmecha.

Pope would be icing on the cake. He was one of key reasons it was close at end of season… a keeper with England senior squad aspirations.

But Meslier needs first team play.

We might pick up Krul for cheap who could push Ilan but also provide mentorship.

My bet is Jesse plays 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-3-1 which means we also need someone to partner KP as a natural CDM… at the minute it’s Forshaw, Dallas, Klich and/ or Koch and Struijk… none of which are natural in the position.
