For those that are critical of our line up, what would your team be and why? Also, what would you do to address the issue in the final third? Genuinely interested, as I am baffled on how he can address the 2nd part of my question.

The players are no doubt shooting and hitting the net in practise, they are likely practicing set pieces too, so what is it?

Using the full width of the pitch. We are predominantly left and central when attacking one née to access the right flank more to keep teams from anticipating our attacking patterns and overloading space.

Tempo of the football. We need to push through the phases quicker. Too many times we take 5+ passes to get from point A to B when 1-3 passes would suffice. Especially by hitting mid range passes or longer diagonals. Attacking with more urgency would help negate the low block by giving them less time to get set. Of course it's not a "this one thing will solve all our problems issue" but it will help a great deal.

Think starting Ao Tanaka would solve both of those issues to a large degree.

We need better set piece takes first and foremost. Preseason, we looked more dangerous when Rothwell was on them. Don't think Aaronsen or Gruev are consistent enough ball strikers to take them. Obviously, we need to work on our routines in the box, too, as it seems only Stuijk is dangerous in those areas. Currently, we are pretty farcical given the amount of games since we last scored from a corner.

Bit of luck in regards to finishing would help, but our general lack of composure overall is something that needs to be worked on. I think Joseph is more instinctive with his finishing rather than a composed finisher (ala Piroe). Think he'll still score plenty this season tbh, but most will be from anticipatory off the ball runs into or inside the box rather than shots like Piroe's last week.

I do think it's a matter of time before it clicks attacking wise. Few tweaks and we are in a really good place, but it's still frustrating at times.

Imo, we need to break quicker, leading to the creation of clearer chances and probably more of them. We faff around way too much on the buildup, allowing opponents to get numbers back.

Mes
Amps Rodon struijk Firpo
Gruev Rothwell/ Tanaka
James arranson ramazani
Joseph

As others have said, spread the attack across the wings. Send long balls from mes up the pitch, none of this playing from the back crap.

Biggest one for me is take risks and play fearless. Even against Cardiff we looked scared and unsure. Get the ball and take on the defenders, a team mate should back them up incase they lose it.
Quick balls and quick runs ala Joseph and James goal in the early season.
If we're on the edge of the box and you can see the goal SHOOT. Make the defence and goalkeeper think those shots are coming in constantly. Trying to walk the ball in to the back of the next is impossible with five defenders. Take shots, long shots, short shots. Our conversion rate is turd at the best of times, may as well play the percentages by firing in more shots.
It scares the defence and has them arguing with each other, it rocks their confidence and builds ours. Just SHOOT.

That worked well for Ipswich last season, MoT. Shoot on sight. Think they scored over 20 goals from defelctions last season iirc. Just hit em on target and see what happens. More shots on target would generally equate to more goals.

Ampadu RB?

6.) 26 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 16:28:24
I agree with most of the above suggestions, but don't wait for anything different from this clueless manager! Everything will remain the same. Trust me!

7.) 26 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 17:28:20
Rodon played better with amperdu on the back line. Amperdu is better than Bogle and Rothwell would be better attacking in midfield than Amperdu.
Amps has a cracking long ball on him, so hoofing it up from the back line helps us, see bamfords wonder goal last season that was fed from an amperdu long ball.

Dill

Agreed. Keep the pressure on, it's what we do best. We will either get a deflection, a lucky goal or force them lose morale in defence allowing us to break them down.

The opposition feared leeds' first 20 mins in a game because we came out of the gates charging. They feared us when the wind was in our sails and when we counter attacked. Now they have no fear because they know tippy tappy sideways football is nothing to fear.
Leeds get that fear back by hammering shots towards the net.

Forshaw. Bamford etc now Solomon

Sicknotes LUFC

New owners
new recruitment team
BUT crucially same cluelessness

Myself and a few others warned of the obvious huge injury red flag that is Manor Solomon

First his back, now his hamstring

Yet another waste of an expensive loan fee and extortionate wages.

There is no doubt that Solomon is on far higher wages than everyone else at LUFC.

a non injury prone non loan played should have been signed instead.

26 Sep 2024 17:41:05
Hooksie pal .

I am guessing that Herr Farke is not on your or Aus Christmas Card list?.

10.) 26 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 19:24:12
The Leeds United injury saga goes on. Struick and Firpo on the doubtful list now. Wober looks like he requires surgery, and as Baz said, Solomon with another injury.

11.) 26 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 20:37:04
Solomon was always a "when" is he going to get injured rather than an "if".

Pretty mad they spent a nice loan fee and are paying most of his wages instead of investing that money in someone who's been playing regularly without an injury list longer than McKennie's takeaway order.

Sallai was right there and he was more adept at postions we needed moreso than another LW ?‍♂️.

12.) 26 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 20:40:28
Ampadu may have to play CB this weekend by the looks of it. Struijk a doubt and Wober out.

I like Bogle. Think he offers us so much going forward at RB but he doesn't get the ball anywhere near enough. Had his best game for us last week. Acres of space and was involved in some of out best stuff attacking wise. Won the penner too. Think once we access the right more during games people will come round to him, because he is actually really dangerous.

13.) 26 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 23:28:11
NO Baz He's not on my Christmas card list, because he would be fired before Christmas!

14.) 27 Sep 2024
26 Sep 2024 23:57:56
Baz - a quick question for you. Are you seriously suggesting Leeds could have predicted Forshaw would be out injured for so long when he joined us?

While he had 132 days out with an ankle injury from April to Sept 2014, between that injury and his hip injury with us he had just over 5 years injury free. There’ll be countless players out there who were out for more than 100 days with an ankle or other relatively serious injury and then went on to make a significant contribution for their club (s) .

15.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 04:27:41
In which case maybe you are expecting a "bonfire with fireworks dismissal" say early November Hooksie?

Results will have to have almost fallen off a cliff for that to happen though!

16.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 04:43:41
Forshaw never played 40 plus games in any of his 13 seasons as a pro.

And bottom line . Leeds United endured 6 years of sicknote Adam Forshaw total just 83 matches . which even you Clu would agree is not a good injury record/ appearance record .

Perhaps Clueless you would like to inform us of your opinion of the folly of signing at considerable risk sicknote Manor Solomon!

17.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 06:47:09
He made just 49 appearances in 3 full seasons before he signed for Leeds, hardly injury free before he joined.

18.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 07:14:27
Trust you, in sacking Farke?!
I’d rather trust inviting Jimmy Saville into my home.
A clueless manager who’s won the league twice with Norwich and got us 90 points last season.
I suppose you’ve got the perfect answer in to who replaces him? and no doubt if someone did replace him, he would also be a clueless waste of space also.
Absolute mindless drivel of a post with nothing added to it to substantiate such a moronic suggestion.

19.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 09:58:30
Chris - Forshaw actually made 106 appearances in the three full seasons before he joined us, and other than the handful of games at the end of the long lay-off with that one big ankle injury, there were only 7 occasions when he wasn’t in the match day squad during those 3 seasons. There were 14 appearances in the half season directly before he joined from Boro, and you while there were 12 occasions when he wasn’t in the match day squad in that half season, as you well know, absence from the bench doesn’t equate to injured. As someone who often states they know Boro well, you will be very aware that during the time Forshaw was there, they were very well stocked with decent CM/ DM options, with 8/ 9 in that squad for the entire period - which is one of the reasons why the lad was keen to come to Leeds, to get game time - which is ironic given what followed.

And Baz, your ‘bottom line’ is ridiculously hindsighted. We all know he had an appalling injury record while he was with us, and if Leeds had had Mystic Meg in their scouting team we obviously wouldn’t have signed him.

I didn’t think it was necessary to say what my view on the Solomon loan signing was, given that I’m one of the posters on here who judges things on a factual basis, I’d have thought it obvious that I would consider it that signing an ill-judged risk given his recent injury history - there’s plenty of players out there who would have been a far better option - and given the level of experience and supposed expertise we have on the recruitment side, I’m seriously disappointed that we chose to chance it on Solomon instead.

20.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 10:15:40
OP, Pukki and Beundia got Norwich Promoted and 90 points got us another chance to play in the Championship.

I'll Take anybody besides this Donkey!

21.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 12:46:06
Clueless at least your judgement on a ' factual basis ' led you on the correct path re unwise Solomon signing

Shame that you weren't able to do so with JKA

Sh.

22.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 14:21:53
Baz - the problem for you there is that the facts (and don’t go mistaking facts as being purely statistical) re JKA suggest very strongly that it is you who are wrong. Statistics without factual context are purely numbers that can easily mislead. With 23 years writing factual briefing on a very wide range of subjects for Government ministers, including for no10, I’d rather back my own interpretation of the available factual information that yours.

23.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 15:12:27

Good job you ain't bothered Dame Aus about LUFC wasting nearly £50 million on JKA . transfer fee, 5 years of wages and court legal fees.

£50 million . that gets one a new cf, new gk, new CAM etc.

Wow, I’ve abstained from posting regularly for a while, but drop back in every now and again to see what is happening, and guess what, exactly the same drivvle from the same people, purely trying to cause an argument. Very sad, it used to be a laugh on here.

And Baz, think you’ve outdone yourself mate, you’ve just called over half million UK citizens who work in the Civil Service Dishonest and Disingenuous. that's not cool!

28.) 27 Sep 2024
27 Sep 2024 17:44:30
That’s it. Baz. You done it! I’ve had enough to last a lifetime of your negative, pointless, sweeping statements. Everything purely aimed at massaging whatever tiny ego you might have. Single handedly destroyed this page, over posting, and over posting utter twatwaffle. Trying to belittle everything and anyone, says more about you than it does about others. It’s sad.
Even a large paragraph from C&J above, which incidentally was full of good points, has you zoom in on the last few tongue in cheek words, to talk rubbish, for no one’s benefit but your own. Can’t be involved with this site with you trashing it.

I am sure there are some gooduns MG . but the civil service SYSTEM in genera and politics . ALL parties. well.

2017-18 11.

32.) 27 Sep 2024

Oh the irony of your last sentence Baz!

But I value everyone's fundamental right to hold an opinion.

37.) 28 Sep 2024

You perhaps value their right to an opinion Baz, but you certainly struggle with idea of respecting what that opinion might be.

You value nobody’s option Baz, let’s not tell fibs again . Too much Hyperbole from Bollox Baz again, trying to be edgy ???.
