Nr: "we don't have wingers", doukara has been a winger for half his career and a few minutes into the second half against Harrogate he assists Morison when playing on the wing, same with Montenegro who played left wing for fc nacional, but nr refused to play them because cellino signed them

Lost two good players, monty and del fabro, in my opinion due to lack of first team games. Never given a chance

What do you say now Oneleeds. Morrison scores, I also find it hard to believe, Is this a turning point and he's going bag a hat full this term? I for one will eat humble pie if it happens!

Good article by Andy Ritchie in YP about Sharp. I think same way. You don't sell a goalscorer like him when you lack goals already. Maybe he will do better this season. He would be a terrific player to have off the bench.

Define goal scorer Georgie boy?
Wat are your standards for a goal scorer?

Agree1 Disagree2

10 Jul 2015 16:42:50
Agree george he is a good goal scorer fair play only five lat season but we lacked any width so he was isolated people who say he's past it are wrong he needs service him and wood could be a great partnership this season but there is also ant who is top quality it will be between them to partner wood I think ajose and duke will be wingers.Erwin looks amazing with his feet cutting in from wide and morrison has to go before sharp surley that said I think if we were getting murphy as part of a deal for sharp he has too go lufc4life.

147 goals in 361 appearances is not prolific, but then again handy to have in squad. Think he will prosper in a lower division though. If he stayed would not be for long.

Well I definitely don't agree with those people who say he is no good and we should get rid. How can he possibly be judged on last season. Never given a real chance to show us what he can or cannot do. Personally I'd keep him, but I think he prefers to start every game, and I can't see us being able to offer him that

Aussie, someone who with a partner and given decent service will put the bloody thing in the net. If he goes then he goes but with Rosler playing more attacking football I think we'll miss a fox in the box MOT

people who comment on sharp for his goals or lack of them last season clearly have little idea or do not want to take things into account, they way we played last year any poacher would not of got many, which is why our forwards struggled and we got goals from midfield. even linaker in his prime would of sturrgled with the way we played and the scraps we gave sharpe, when he got a chance he put it away. he may not of scored many but he didn't miss many either because he didn't have much to miss. I would liked to of kept him and predict he would do well at a team who plays to his strenght someone put his record down as said it is not good 147 in 361 works out just better than a goal every 2.5 games, I would say that is very decent and well worth keeping. that said onwards and upwards and think wood, douk and ant (who I really rate) will get more goals if we give them a chance

Bw I did not say his goal average was no good, and I did say he would be worth keeping in squad. Still don't think he is good enough to be our main striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2015 22:06:05
no bige you said it was not prolific, I would argue it is. many prolific strikers have a worse goal ratio. bet rooney's and many other wish they had a goal every 2.45 games at what ever level. I am not saying he should be our main guy I think that should be ant followed by woods but does anyone at leeds have as good a record as sharpe? I bet they dont

12 Jul 2015 10:24:15
Sharp good for 15 a season, decent not prolific. 20+ a season is prolific. Most of those came at Donny where he was main man. Would be handy to have in squad as back up but he needs to play every game at his age so would not be happy. Going back to 2013 when he was scoring regularly, not had a lot of games since then but must be a reason.Saints got rid although he scored 8 in 10 for them so maybe its what else he offers to the team. Anyone can stand in front of goal and wait for a tap in in, maybe his work ethic is lacking.

Sad for Murphy but, why panic and spend good money when we have midfielders to spare, some of whom already have first team experience. If they are played extensively in the pre seasons and impress then why not fill the gap with Sloth, Phillips etc

Big fan of sloth and phillips dawson needs loaning to league 1or2 team this year because he's wasting his time waiting for first team atm.

Great day for a friendly at Harrogate later today, looking forward to Leeds playing a strong team/teams and to see if I can see any real difference to how we play compared to last season.

Last time at Harrogate the team lost 3 -1 I think and it did have a few first teamers in and we were poor but hopefully we will have a stronger group on pitch this time.

Looking to see evidence of this high tempo heavy metal football and looking at sun better slap the old sun cream on.

Turnbull and Alnwick bothe rejected after trials. I suspect this has more to wage demands and MC's unwillingness to flex on that, than ability. Both are ex premiership goalies, who would want the package to go with it.

We might aswell have Horton as our number 2 and brink some 18 year old kid in from the youth sides.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - we don't know that to be true tbf d.s.}

10 Jul 2015 15:55:38
On paper they are both ex-prem but Alnwick is very young and wouldn't have played in the prem but for injury. He is also carrying a wrist injury himself. Turnbull barely played at Chelsea in a number of years so neither established prem players. I don't think we have missed anything.
