Robert Snodgrass is not close to signing a new contract, he has refused to commit to anything untill the squad return for pre-season training.
Believable3
Unbelievable5
I think snoddy is class but no player is bigger than the club. if he does not want to commit cash in now get the money for him and get players in with the funds he will generate. one player does not make a team. dont you think we should have learnt a lesson this last couple of years if a player dont want to be there cash in. its better to get money now for a replacement than let him go free at end of season.
Agree8
Disagree1
I too think snoddy is class. selling your best player doesnt always backfire. look at what happened to newcastle after they sold carroll! selling snoddy for £4m or so could buy us 2 quality players with better wages. (beckford and someone else)

Paul Green & Sammy Clingan may not be every Leeds fans cup of tea but they are decent players and would be excellent squad members with lots of experience, costing nothing, allowing us to spend more on other players in other positions.
Also, If Ward is our next signing we are definitely heading in the wright direction.
Believable9
Unbelievable0
I agree mate, good players to do the job at this level and we carn;t buy all are players, we just don;t have the funds with bates at the helm. Deffinatly goin in the right direction with sgt warnock. mot4life
Agree7
Disagree0
Not a bates fan by a long way. ive supported leeds for over 40 years. and to be fair to bates he has been no worse than the chairmans before him. cousins did not need to splash the cash, the side was solid and transfer fees were a lot more realistic, silver was the same he knew his means, fotherby was stable then we put peter(nick leeson) ridsdale in charge and look what happened. personally i dont want to go down that route again and as much as i despise papa smurf at least he has stabi8lised the club i love and i have still got a team to support.mot.
Agree7
Disagree1
I wouldn't want to go down that route either but we have been spending too little on each players wage .yes the total squad wage might be quite high but had bates of given grayson more funds to spend on transfer fees we would of had a smaller squad with better quality players and probably be in prem league by now . hopefully warnock is getting what he needs off of bates and he can get us back up. we do need to spend more money but nothing like ridsdale did
Agree3
Disagree0
I dont think Bates ever thought Grayson was the man to get us to the premiership. That's why he didn't invest. He gave him a chance, and if he'd had more faith in Grayson, perhaps the money would have come. He didn't, so it didn't.
Agree2
Disagree0
I know you are all going to shout at me, but before you do, Risdale did not own the club he was the mouth piece, he as got to take some responsablity but what happened at LUFC was not alll his fault.
I i agree lets not go down that road again - i would like to see more investment in the youth.
Agree2

If we move Clayton on and Brown doesn't resign I'd sign the two for backup.

Would like to see the in first team action next season, atleast in pre season. i do feel they can do a job 4 us. as i seen what they can do from the time i watched them in the fa youth cup. i think the ones to defo look out for are poleon, taylor, cairns and gimple, they all really stood out for me in the games. Just seen on Sky Sports News, Sammy Clingan has been released from Coventry. I've got to say we have been linked to him, but he appears to be a Grayson type player...free and average.
Believable5
Unbelievable2
Think you will find thats a bates type player .if grayson had been given 1 mil to spend on each player transfer fee im sure grayson would of brought in some quality
Agree6
Disagree3
Uddersfield will not restrict SG's spending, so let's see what he signs this for them. You may be correct but we will see.
Agree3
Disagree1
We have enough rubbish that grayson signed on our books lets hope he gives us cash and takes them off our wage bill. bye bye barn door but dont think even larry would make the same mistake again.
Agree1
Disagree0
I think paynter will be a good signing for Huddersfield especially iff there in league 1 still. he just never got past his injury which he picked up in his 1st pre season with leeds. he looked a much better player against Peterborough so would do well in league 1
Agree3
Disagree0
Huddersfield have already said they'd be reigning in on transfer spending, Clark was heavily backed and got nowhere, that's why they went for Simon, has been promoted twice from that league with no budget

Utter Bates tripe - if there was a "businessman" - he probably saw the books; wonder where all that rent was going - looked at how the chairman ran things and his history and then thought "jeez I wouldn't trust that man with 10p and a bag of McCoy's crisps, yet alone my £20 million"
Also if the man was bothered about his reputation back home he would not deal with bates as he is typecast as a "crook" - more likely he thought he was buying the club for £20 million and then when Ken said "thats one of five installments". He decided to tell him where to stick it.
Agree4

Mccoys are quite expensive nowadays. I can see his predicament
Agree5

If the investor was a leeds fan he'd understand what the protests were over! lol

Bates is a hipercrite. when he as dragged are football club through a long costly court battle with levy. so when its something he is cares about, he will defo stand his ground. bates give your head a wobble are's is not tit 4 tat like yours, are's is 4 passion and love of the team. now sell up and f++k off, cockny sl=g. mot4life

Anyone think we should go in for adomah at bristol city him and snoddy on either wing would rip this league apart?
Believable11
Unbelievable0
After watching adomah this season for bristol he looks like a really smart and quick player and would be smilar to gradel what do you think ed {Ed013's Note - He is still young and can work both flanks. If NW rated him I am sure he would have the potential to be a good buy}

We need a new keeper for starter, right back, left back and centre halve to partner pearce. Lees doesn't have enough pace. offer snods big money and keep Clayton, which means we need a pacey winger to replace max which we never had last season. And I'm gonna say it but but becs needs to go, he doesn't score enough for our main striker. {Ed037's Note - He had one bad season and now you're telling him to get on his bike?}
Believable2
Unbelievable13
Idiot . thats all i have to say
Agree9
Disagree1
He isn't an person just sees Becciho for what he is. An average striker! Ask yourself this if we get promotion would he cut it in the pl? Given the fact he has no pace, doesn't hold the ball up nearly as much as he should do. He had service last season from maxi and snods
Agree6

There are better strikers available who would score more goals than him.
Agree6

"There are better strikers available who would score more goals than him", please enlighten me with your top five who are better, (please keep it sensible).

^ McCormack, Rhodes, beckford, bothroyd, Campbell, somma, Mickail-Smith, cox.. Just a few off the top of my head {Ed013's Note - All different types of player. Becchio hasn't been great, but NW knows how to get the best out of him and I am sure he will next season. Out of the list above there is only Mackail-Smith that gets stuck in and wins balls in the air}
Agree6
Disagree0
Absoute rubbish strikers are only as good as the service they getting becchio and mccormack next season will be awesome if we get some decent midfielders in our strike force doesn't need to be touched just sort the defence and midfield
Agree2
Disagree1
One bad season from bechio and the lad gets slated how fickle are we as fans. becchio had an op late in the summer due to the ignorance of the management of the time he didnt have a preseason to get any sort of fitness get off his back. i would rather have a fit becciho in my side than a mercenery like beckford who tried to hold the cjub to ransom.
Agree2
Disagree2
Two of the list are already at Leeds, so do not count in the discussion, the chances of signing any of the other six are remote, so can hardly be termed, as you say, available.
On that basis, once again I ask for five better strikers who are available.
Agree0
Disagree3
How often does Becchio get stuck in and win balls in the air? must be watchin a different team than me!
Agree2

Some may disagree, but I feel bechio has had one good season (10-11), rather than he has had one bad season.

Snoddy wont be there...
Agree3

Soddy is not electric. he is one paced. i think we are missing a trick here snoddy is a far better footballer than howson he should be moved into howsons role imo snoddy is wasted on the wing he has a severe lack of pace but in centre of park he could and would pull the strings.

DJ Campbell will join Leeds this summer. Warnock rates him highly, hence he signed him for QPR. I think he would do well for us
Believable2

Would be a great signing if Neil (and i mean Neil not 'Colin' which Leeds fans are still using which is disgusting and i hope its through ignorance than actually understanding what it means) can make it happen. Is exactly what we missed last year, good pace and quality at this level. Snap him up Neil.

Am i the only Leeds fan that doesnt like the idea of signing anymore Pompey players.when we went into administration and got relegated we had all the vultures down at ER scrounging all our talent at discount prices, W*****s!now it seems were doing exactly the same.Shame on us. MOT

Thats how football works though mate, i felt the same when we lost great players like robinson, milner, lennon etc for pennys. we are now in a position to do the same to other teams. garyd MOT
Agree6
Disagree0
What! how can you say that, are we supposed to let them be and go bust. They need the cash to survive, we're actually doing them a favour and i don't think £500k each for Ward and Pearce are vulture prices
Agree6
Disagree0
OMG!! you've just pointed out how everyone picked apart are squad, when we fell on hard times and i didn't see anybody give us one bit of simpathy. Not even when they voted on are points deductions in league 1 and they all voted for us to get it pompey included. So stop feeling sorry for them and get real. Its are turn to get abit of success of other teams missfortunes. Next up Ward. do you share my feelings on this subject ed? mot4life
Agree8
Disagree0
Ok but we can't afford to sign other players. so your willing to risk flirting with relegation rather than going for promotion just because we are taking advantage of Pompey, if its not us it will be some other club with ambition - i'd rather it was us MOT
Agree2
Disagree0
I think the chairmen of all the other clubs voted to have our 15 point deduction upheld when we appealed. What goes around comes around
Agree4
Disagree0
Portsmouth chairman has said they have to be willing to sell players slightly cheaper than their value due to their dire need to get rid of players as they are 'losing fortunes' every day
Agree1
Disagree0
Sounds like a lot of double standards to me boys.500k for Pearce?WHAT A BARGAIN!,for a man who won all be 1 or 2 of the Player of the Month awards all season, club captain, and the Player of the Year.I dont want to be known as Portsmouth 2.WE,Leeds United are MUCH bigger than that. MOT
Agree2
Disagree0
Just because they havn't done well in the league doesn't mean their players are no good. Are teams only supposed to sign players from teams above them?
Agree2
Disagree0
Survival of the fittest. As much as we have to sympathise with Pompey, as we have been their and worn the t-shirt, they ran a poor ship and shouldn't of had the players they did with there financial structure and they have paid for it. We would be stupid not to take there best players at a discount price, they wouldn't think twice if it was us.
TeejLUFC
Agree10

Look at Liverpool crap season does that mean the likes of Steve G and Surez are crap players.
Agree4

Lets be realistic here portsmouth ran with a bare bones of a squad 1 or 2 injuries meant they could not always fill there bench. does not mean because the side was relegated they were bad players it means the depth of the squad was minimal. weve been there and our squad was raped why not not take advantge.
