Have posted previously that the decision whether Monk stays, sits with Rad and Rad alone, and whilst Monkey may have a decision to make if asked. IF Like a lot of people, I recognise what Monk and his backroom team have done this year. But this is business. not personal just business. Common sense dictates that if Rad was keen overtures would have been made prior to the season ending. No Jeff inside information here, but I believe Rad is already looking elsewhere, exciting or risky depends on your point of view.

It's both. It's always a risk changing, but to get to the next level I feel we need to. I think it's very exciting because rads clearly has big plans and I think we might hear some big names etc being linked and signed

TBF Class, Rad did move talks forward and sit down with Monk before the last game, I do wonder if he was waiting to finalise stuff with Massimo before talking with the gaffer about goals and what he needs to achieve them. The word coming out of the club though is that Rad wants to tie anyone down, back room, that is staying to a long term. If he is getting rid I would expect it to be announced pretty quick so a new manager can sort targets, especially as most of the back room will follow Monk out, the longer it goes the more likely he wants to keep Monk and its about sorting terms.

Really good points Gummie, I'm sure we will know for certain very soon. And so much better having normal football based banter as opposed to financial meltdowns etc.

Agree guys. I initially thought Radz would want to bring his own man in, which he still might, and is understandable. But either way as long as it's sorted soon there can be some proper planning done for next season, which would make a nice change. I remember a local radio programme this time last year. Wagner was interviewed saying that all his targets had been identified and all the planning was underway. That was when we were dicking around trying to find someone who'd accept the job.

I am finally calming down after sun disappointment. Was expecting a hoo haa finale. Oh well Had time to ponder and the more i think of it the more i think its time to go monk. he's done his bit in improving the team. But got found out at end. He picked the team from what he taught and saw on the training ground so his responsibilty. Lots of strange selections. Chopping and changing midfield. Continuing to play bridcutt. The last two months were woeful and not acceptable. Lots of teams didn't get jan investment so that's no excuse.

of the same mindset Aus, I like Monk and will not be gutted if he stays but the more i think about it the more i lean towards him going. The only thing i disagree about is bridcut, i think he was right to play him but wrong to play him how he did. Most of us yourself included was singing bridcuts praises last season, say we must sign him. NOw bridcut is prem quality and a smart player yet was not very good this season, not because he played badly but just was soo deep, i think this must come from monk, if briduct was not doing what he was told he would of been dropped fact he kept in team suggests he was doing as asked which is another reason to get rid of monk

Agree with thoughts about Bridcutt, he is a defensive midfielder, that is his speciality. If you expect Bridcutt to be operating box to box then you will be extremely disappointed as he does not do that. Bridcutt did play too deep this season, maybe because of tactics, maybe because of fitness as he missed pre-season and suffered an injury half-way through the season. The challenge with Bridcutt is to pair him with a midfielder who will operate further up the pitch however is there room in a team for both Bridcutt and Viera ? Our problems this season have stemmed from not enough players getting forward to support Wood and contributing with goals i. e. Wingers and attacking midfield. In that respect we have been too defensive and relied upon our defence to keep us in games. A Monk tactic ? Possibly.

Spot on Notts. Definitely a Monk tactic. He realized that RV and KP still learning. Once we got Okane things improved in midfield for awhile but then injuries means we adopt more defensive tactics to keep us in games. We certainly didn't concede 3 many times this season whereas can't be said previous years. Birdcage is a definite keep for me but he does need to play in the correct midfield pairing and be squad rotated accordingly.

Aussie. Are you deliberately trying for a post that has the record number of 'disagrees', or it it just coincidence ? I've just disagreed again to help you along

Good point Hardy but at least Charlie didn't get injured. That's the main thing anyway.
