I see we are now linked with Bryan Verboom. With a name like that he sounds very quick - however, not to be confused with Trevor Kaboom who is quite explosive! See what I did there eh? night lads n lasses, early start tomorrow. It's going to be a scorcher so keep plenty of liquid refreshment handy. Up the Whites, down the pints!

Hi Ed do you know if Leon Osman is about to join us? Everton FB page suggests he will be signing for us. Cheers.

I wouldn't mind Osman coming to us. Plenty of experience and could do a great job for us. Rumours of Flamini are wide of the mark I reckon - we couldn't afford his cleaner, let alone him. Rumours around tonight that we're looking at Gleeson of Brum. However, the Wendies are in for him too, so we can forget about that one too.

DTP UTW even on a school night!

Always liked Osman. Reminds me of Milner, plenty of passion, not the most skillful and will definitely do a job in the championship.
Good signing if he signs.

Antonsson deserves a start he looks really sharp- the signing of Osman could benefit some of the younger players (if it happens) but the Birdcage thing is dragging on a bit too much for my liking I know its about wages but think MC needs to get his hand in his pocket a little more as he says we are making a lot of money - Ayling is a good addition but still think we are short of a couple of QUALITY signings.

Had to work last night so couldn't get up to my favourite stopover place in Blackpool, so finished work at 9pm and stopped at my local to down a pint on MMs orders, so gets me mobile out to find out how the lads got on, one of my mates on FB left a link on, I didn't expect it to work because it never does on mobiles, so you can imagine my delight and nerves when the stream loaded up straight at the start of the penalties! 😂 it was buffering a bit so I sat by the window of the pub with baited breath, expecting catastrophy to happen at some point during our penalties, well extremely loud cheer after extremely loud cheer, and the pub giving me strange looks like I'd won the lottery or something, I have to say super impressed with the boys penalties and Greenys fab save on the last one, let's hope they remember that and repeat it when we get to the Wembley play off final next may 😂 I stayed to down a couple more before heading home a happy chappy mot brothers 😎.

Nice one DJ. Glad to see your sticking to the liquid diet prescribed by Dr Mad. I was impressed with the penalties too. All taken with confidence and it was nice to see Greeny make a very good save.

Happy Friday Eve brothers and sisters - DTP UTW

no it is awful you are right cork that is why we loved it. we went in their my mate got mouth raped by some lass, there were men and women stripping people doing shots, a sign in the toliet saying please wear shoes in the toliet (who needs that sign) and a couple of lads chucking up in the corner and it was 1.30 in the afternoon, all day every day it is like the last hours of the roman empire.

Grew up and spent 14 happy years and became a man there Bermo so I know all the seady rough joints, not quite the same place when I lived there but still love going back there and catching up with old friends.

now I've finally dried out I thought I would give you my take on last night.

Positive Hernandez was quality, OK the opposition wasn't, but when he got the ball you expected something good to happen opposed to hoping something good would happen. Our defence needs to get to know one another pretty sharpish. Set pieces we were vulnerable and even when we pushed on there was always the sense a quick break from them would catch us out. Midfield was a little naive. Phillips wasn't that bad, never stopped and Viera was good in parts, but I think he's not ready yet. Maybe an experienced player alongside him would bring him on. Don't expect him to be as mature as Cook was when he first came in. He'll get there I'm sure. Roofe did OK and Sako ran a lot, but needs time Antonson has good feet and I think he'll do well. Wood, hmmmm. Not convinced.

Getting better but it was still a lower division team. Green did ok. He's a good keeper but makes the odd mistake. Defence is shaky and there was a number of times the marking that was completely missing. Conceded five in two games now and it could have/ should have been more. Time to bring Belusci back off loan? We never conceded that many when he was playing - except when Bamba was doing his Bambi bit.

hess are you bells agent, ok I hate bell more than most but no one even bells mum backs him like you do. he is useless and awful one of our worst defenders ever keep him on loan and only bring him back to shoot him.

He gone just let it go. He couldn't mark was bad in the air and prone to mistakes as well as being a bad influence in the dressing room. You really need to move on. I read your posts and think "near the bottom and he's not mentioned Bel. Oh and you spoil it. I'm generally worried about your infatuation with this man.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2016 18:46:28
It's amusing sometimes. It's a long time since a player got under the skin of so many fans. I don't think he's that good and he was a problem in the dressing room. Unfortunately he was better than the rest and that's showing now. I was not keen on Wooton, definitely not Bambi and although he improved Cooper made so many mistakes it was like waiting for a car crash I write about Belusci not because I think he's good but because I sometimes get annoyed with the concentration of criticism of Belusci and fans not seeing or accepting just how bad the others are/ were. Bartley looks half decent. We just need a couple to go with him. Lees was a half decent centre half but he was often played at right back and was very ordinary there.

Hess Lees played 90% of games as a CB for Leeds. I always thought he was a proper defender but certain elements of ER used to get on his back because according to them he would hoof the ball forward.
Nobody took into consideration that the midfield hardly ever came to take the off the CBs so the lad had choice but to lump it forward. he's a proper proper ole fashioned CB and I wish he was still at ER. But as happens so often at Elland rd we love to pick on someone. Always been that way as far back as I can remember.

mc so it says turned down a bid from red bull saying why sell when club is making money even saying tv rights funny he didn't want then at games last year. antonsson came on with 15mins to go scored then later got us a penalty so will he start on saturday.

A laboured win but a win nonetheless. We need time to gel with so many new signings and a couple more in the next few days (Osman, Bristol City lad? ) . Looking back to 1989-90, we lost 5-2 on the first day of the season with a new influx of players. Bring on Birmingham and I will certainly be downing the pints.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Aug 2016 16:45:46
first three games in 89-90 was one win, one draw and one loss, if that happens now half of our fans will be doom and gloom and getting us religated. we will improve.

But struggled to get past them!
Can somebody give me a run down on the good and bad. We're we attack heavy? Lots of flare in lineup.
Thanks.

lots of positives (lots of negitives as well but I prefer positives) . all scored penalties which shows cofnidence, green great save might help his confidence, wood two penalties scrored.

Roofe looks good and looks like he will get better, antsosson looks great, good goal, great movement and has edge, fenadez looks good link and number 10. things are on the up, things will take time but imporve one decent cb and we wil mix it with the best MOT keep the faith.

I'm just glad we won, doesn't matter how, these games against lower teams are always difficult for us.

The team looks like it has played maybe a couple of friendly's less than it should have as it has had a lot of change, need time to gel, looks a bit under cooked to me.

Defense still looks as bad as last year as we all can see so a quality CH is a must asap as we all know, I would pay good money here (1-2m types) . Hope GM got us training on defending corners!

Looking forward to Brum, who didn't score again so maybe we will keep a clean sheet? er OK perhaps not but it is a game we need to/ can win and we can build from there, there are positives for sure and Rome wasn't built in a day as they say.

He was better than QPR but he is another one who always has a mistake in him, no better than Silvestri, he doesn't command and always looks like a rabbit caught in headlights.
