on the subject of set pieces. We will have to devise a system to defend or hope that Koch/ Llorente are good jumpers because I don't think either of them are anywhere near 7 feet. Maybe bulk them both up or I can see them being bullied by some of the Prem forwards. I find it strange that no one (its not a new phenomenon) has yet to tighten up our set piece performance. I did not favour spending in January but now I certainly think we need to reinforce at the back, a good (tall) left back as No 1 priority followed by a skilful midfielder (Rique Puig, or sim. ) and lastly, if no money left we should start feeding some U23s in. Give them a few minutes here and there. Starting with one of the strikers.

Let's see if there is a reaction, performance and more importantly a win against Newcastle.
Need to be much, much better against Newcas. For me it's a MUST WIN and Pablo must be involved.
We are making deja vu mistakes, conceding almost 2 goals a game and no sign of remedying achilles heel of set plays under Bielsa.
Question that I asked last week even more pertinent : Are there 3 teams that Leeds will finish above?

As I said Baz, 7 points from 15, now 7 from 12 before the FA Cup Tie. That would give us 21 after 16 games. 42 should be enough so another 21 from 22 games. Definitely achievable, but 3 points on Wednesday would lift everyone. Regarding Pablo, I would have liked to have seen him get on tonight. Could have come on instead of Robert's and pushed Rodrigo upfront.

So predictable and so, so poor. I said before the game we were weak at the back and would be suspect at set pieces. We were. in situations like that don't give away silly free kicks. Stupidly we did. Cooper completely out his depth defensively. Even when he was in the lower divisions. Poor conversion rate. Poor with our attacking set pieces. Still say 15th to 17th is possible but will be hard. Bielsa team play good football but lack the cutting edge in the higher leagues when they are sussed and defensively they are no hopers. Without Meslier and some very good luck we could have easily have conceded five or six. We play box to box ok but that's it. poor defense plus poor conversion rate equals a relegation battle. Bielsa is good but not God.

Well beaten for me lacked ideas up front no good when you can't defend set piece after set piece, some very poor performances from several players tonight possiby worse performance of season where starting to look like a bottom 6 club now another home game without a win doesn't bode well for entertaining the Geordies next week we'll be looking over our shoulder now games will get uncomfortable to watch.

The biggest disappointment for me this year so far is Harrison. He has his window to shine this year, however over last few games has struggled even to get a cross in. He got totally bullied last week against James and was non existent tonite.

Agreed with the set pieces, Bielsa does need to address this problem and take it more seriously. I think the most disappointing part about tonight was that we were not able to keep possession of the ball, we gave it away far to frequently. We lacked speed on the break, you could see tapping the ball side ways in a slow build up was completely inaffective,
I don’t mind losing, as we will in this season in the Premiership, it’s just how we lose that I’m bothered about and that was a very poor showing tonight.

Last 2 games we get the lead then get beat, not good performance tonight, they deserved the win.
Our defense is shocking, can't defend balls into box, has been an issue for past few seasons and bielsa not resolved this huge issue.
We never look likely to score from our corners and our forwards not good enough
27mil for Rodrigo looks a bad investment, he is poor, is it because where he's playing or just not a goal scorer.
One win at ER is a worry, maybe needs fans back to help.
IMO, tonight we had too many players not performing, thought alioski, klich, cooper, Rodrigo, Harrison and costa all off it. Why no Pablo on with 30 to go for klich or Rodrigo.
It's a worry as getting dragged down, survival is the main thing and better players in Jan or the summer.

Very disappointing defeat, although not surprised by it against a good team in West Ham.
22 goals conceded in 12 games! only one team West Brom have conceded more. This is becoming a huge concern.
Thank god for those 3 points at Everton away win.
I believe next game against Newcastle is now a must win for Leeds really need to collect 3 points at home.

IMHO, Jarrod Bowen was a missed opportunity last season. Hope he doesn't score against us. But that would be the "Leeds" thing to do of course. Normally, I'd fancy our chances v Wet Spam, but I feel it's not going to go our way. However. on the plus side, they have the tactical expertise, of Moyes. who I don't rate.

However there is one very important aspect in matchplay that certainly warrants improvement and criticism; even Bielsa in his most recent interview admitted he hadn't yet found a solution to solving it : namely defending set plays and corners ( and indeed Leeds scoring from them as well) .
They are a very important part of the game!

Absolutely Baz, but everyone has weaknesses and makes mistakes, even god, I mean look at the duck billed platypus. No player or team can go out and play brilliantly for 90 minutes every game. Bielsa gets more right than wrong otherwise we would still be a mid championship team going nowhere, he is only human, but he, the team and the club are my infatuation so its all good by me :)
