Wat does billy paynter have to do to get in the leeds team instead of luciano becchio, I hav watched leeds all season and becchio is just appaling, at least paynter can run about the pitch better and faster

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Has Becchio not scored in the last 2 games?

Agree6 Disagree1

There is no way you're a Leeds fan if you think that mate! what a load of rubbish. how many has Billy scored again?

Agree3 Disagree1

You are a cretin. Becchio played brilliant today.

Agree3 Disagree5

Not sure Paytner's a solution but we must have been watching a different match. Yes he scored, but he missed an absolute sitter (AGAIN!). He had a good 10 minutes at one point but overall Becchio was poor today and has been all season. His first touch is very possibly the worst I've ever seen for a professional footballer, he has poor awareness and he falls over a lot.

Agree2 Disagree2

I take it you didn't go to the game then because becchio was absolutely garbage the only one thing he did was score the goal the rest of the game he may as well have sat on the bench

Agree2 Disagree2

Becchio has not been the same player since his injury. We should sell him at the end of the season and take whatever we can get for him.

To be fair to NR hes trying to get us to knock it about and build from the back, i like it but hes not the man to do it. NW or o'driscoll for me. NR as assistant will work better, plus we need new coaches and hes had a lot of work on. Even after defeat im quite optimistic. MOT.

everyone wants neil redfearn now....get someone half decent quick! heard simon grayson is available

Believable5 Unbelievable2

11 Feb 2012 19:02:34
Anyone read todays bates column in programme.?
Do u recall yorkshire radio interview with bates last week after Simon grayson sacking ?
Bates said the only time he hasn't backed grayson in the transfer market was last Thursday when he wanted a defender that wud cost leeds 600k in wages. Bates said we already had 6 centre backs n turned him down.

Todays programme ken bates says,
The only time i havnt backed grayson in the transfer market was in January when he wanted to buy a midfielder on a permanent transfer for 1.5m. I told him we already have 9 midfielders at the club so that was the only time i have turned him down !

Confused ?????
What is going on. He's started slagging grayson off now by saying, grayson and obrien had a disagreement, and with Simon now gone we welcome obrien back with open arms.
??

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Ahh pity hes an old man now and they get forgetfull!

Agree2 Disagree1

Wished he'd forget he doesn't give us a transfer budget, then we could spend money

Agree3 Disagree0

Just to clarify a bit more. bates said the midfielder would cost 1.5 mil over his contract. that would include wages etc

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Feb 2012 18:58:52
were some of you expecting us to go unbeaten till the end of the season with Redfearn in charge? come on were bound to lose some games, give the guy a chance till the end of the season, appoint a manager in pre-season IF we dont go up, then build a promotion winning team

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Cant agree more, its not like warnock or other managers who people want in never lost a game

Agree3 Disagree2

Rubbish comment we need a manager now to start the process of strengthening the team now not in 3 months time, get the manager in now whilst they are available.

Agree4 Disagree1

The only positive thing to come out of all of this is That Bates is digging his own very big hole and with lack of investment is coming back to haunt him,I'm just sat back watching him make a balls up

Agree4 Disagree1

So you want a free manager on loan till the end of the season, no wonder the players are warming to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2012 18:46:20
The difference between the two side today was the managers simple as that, poyet made changes at the right times Redfern did not, a lack of experience on Redferns part, it's no good you lot saying give him a chance to prove himself, we need experience in now to enable them to build a squad strong enough for next season, we won't go up this year because it would cost Bates to much money, the 5 year period is up for next season and with the right manager in place we will get promoted. Come on get your heads out of the sand and see the trees it's obvious Bates does not want promotion the season. Warnock or Curbishley in now to build for next season.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Poyets side looked far more dangerous than we did. They passed the ball better, they were quicker, their movement was good. Poyet for manager.

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree and disagree, think the substitution of Nunez came 10 minutes too late, if we'd chucked him in when we scored as well as Townsend and gone for it a bit I think maybe it could have been different. I also think having Bruce and brown on the bench although good for covering everywhere, stops us from having some slighty more creative options there. I'd just have bruce because him, as well as Pugh and White and to a lessor extent lees and o'dea are fairly versatile, then there is room for another creative player or striker. I don't hold these consprisey theories about Bates much myself. And i don't think that it has to be a massively experienced manager just one with a plan B from the bench when it's not going too well, which to be fair rules out Warnock anyway.

Agree2 Disagree0

Still only 3 points from play offs..

11 Feb 2012 18:30:35
here we go, blame Redfearn just because we lost, probably the Grayson haters yet again talking garbage, we lost at home to an in-form Brighton side, s**t happens, get over it

Believable1 Unbelievable8

I think youl find they were not ingreatform

Agree6 Disagree3

Unbeaten in 8, won 6 out of them 8 games, i think youll find they were, look up your stats before you try disagreeing with me

Agree4 Disagree3

Hmm, Brighton had won 1 in 6 away from home before today, wouldn't really call that in form! Plus have you heard what's coming out of your mouth? Brighton. A lower league non entity. The only time a club like Leeds should be playing against a team like Brighton is in the cup. All comes back to the bigger picture though. You clearly don't see it.

Agree5 Disagree1

That unbeaten run is in all matches, not just away, which puts them in good form does it not? the word SHOULD is the key would, but were not, were in the same divison as them, were not the massive Champions League semi final LUFC anymore, were Championship Leeds United, believe me i want us out of this division asap but im patient with it, im 20 lol i can handle us being in the championship for another season

Agree2 Disagree2

Every time we lose at home it is always to an inform team. FFS when have we been the in form team this season? I can't remember. If you take away the jammy points we have earned ,Tuesday's game against Coventry would be a relegation 6 pointer.

Agree4 Disagree0

They were better than us, better at passing, better at defending, better at everything. He only changed things when we conceded a goal, when it was evident we needed to change things much earlier. He's a good guy but just not up to it. He's only in charge until next week anyhow as warnock is taking over..why else would Keith curle be there today?

To all those who said redders this, redders that ,even bates after one win against a 9 men team.wake up.loads on here chirping on,we are only 3 points off plays offs.smell the coffee.now read fern needs experience so give him assistant to someone to learn.he deserves that chance.we may have got rid of Grayson but unfortunately not some of the players who can't perform.Grayson made some bad buys or loans but bates is stopping the quality arriving.he's given redders 3 games as he's a cheap option, but those games like today spell the end of any play offs, our season is over, bates will keep redfearn till end of season now.too many teams would have to slip up now and we would have to go on a run,a run,haha..just face it season over, look forward to august in the hope bates goes or he actually gets a visit from 3 ghosts and becomes interested in supporting promotion with a experienced manager...shrew leeds

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Yes that's right I don't care..cos we are going nowhere,losing interest

Agree3 Disagree1

Losing interest because the teams not doing so well? Off you pop then, see you if we get to the premiership at some point. Try supporting the team no matter what, 'at least until the world goes round'

We win one game against 9 men and some fans on here call for Redfearn to get the job and take us up OMG have you seen redfearns managerial record? - we need an experienced manager NOW - let's hope this result and performance proves we need some big changes - I know people will still say there is a chance we can still go up but the way we are playing I think it's better to plan for next season - warnock in soon hopefully

Believable2 Unbelievable2

11 Feb 2012 17:35:29
Irrespective of who the new manager is I think we are likely to see a big clearout at Elland Road this summer. Some, like Snodgrass, will leave of their own accord but not enough of the squad are good enough to be in a side that purports to be promotion contenders.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We'll have 14 left just from people who are out of contract

Agree0 Disagree1

Only problem is if we get rid of deadwood,we will still only pay wages for more of the same because ken keeps trotting out these statistics about spending millions over budget on wages.
until we get some new investment it looks like more of the same.

Agree2 Disagree0

A simple solution is to buy less and pay more wages (aslong as we stay under Bates wage limit we could have a player on £50,000 a week and have a 14 man squad suplemented by youngsters) WE don't have to buy loads just quality

Agree3 Disagree1

11 Feb 2012 17:28:29
When will we ever be hoest with ourselves ! we have an average team with average players ! as it stands it doesn't matter who the manager is , you can't make a diamond out of a stone !! if we are honest and had the pick of the championship, you'd be lucky to pick three present leeds players, lets get ral, secure our championship status, get a progressive manager, get rid of the useless/dead wood, sign some decent players and go for it next season !!

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Snodgrass, McCormack, Lees

Agree1 Disagree1

Correct, even Fergie or Mourinho couldnt do owt with this bunch, too many average players on the books, needs a total rebuild in the summer, get Warnock in,give him some money and watch us go,playing for pride now, promotions a no no.

Agree2 Disagree1

AGREE !

Agree2 Disagree1

I think that's absolutely spot on - some fans seem to think we are better than we are , average players , average coaches - we need to move on get an experienced manager in , rebuild In the summer , get rid of some deadwood and give it go next season

Agree3 Disagree0

Clayton's the only Leeds player who looks alike a premiership footballer to me. Lonergan maybe.

Snodgrass is good at this level but is a poor decision maker - runs into trouble - he'll get found out quickly at a higher level. McCormack's OK. Lees looks like he'll get there.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Feb 2012 17:15:57
Bet bates thinking to himself why did i sack grayson and then bring in another person in readfern total joke that just show what ambition we have we need rid of the chelsea

We are in serious need of a change.

Were falling apart !!

These home defeats and defeats in general are really starting to bring me down. Come on! we have the ability to score goals, so lets start linking up and securing these vital play off points we need.
LEEDS MOT!!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

6 league home defeats is enough to depress anyone.. Can't remember feeling this low before while supporting Leeds, for the first time in a while I must say that I'm not looking forward to going next sat.

Agree3 Disagree0

Me neither mate. If it's cold i will sit in front of the fire.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Feb 2012 17:08:33
The only way where ever going to go up is if bates sells up if not where gonna be scratching around the championship for many years to come you mark my word no team goes up with so little investment?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

If you were a millionaire investor, would you shell out 40 mil plus to take over from Bates, when you could go to a small club with bad finances, buy it for peanuts, and keep more cash to rebuild?

11 Feb 2012 17:05:57
Yet again a lacklustre performance at home no energy no nothing get warnock in now he will soon sort it out

We played well from what im hearing, wasnt reflective of the result

Agree0 Disagree4

Lackluster all over the park, no urgency, Warnock in ASAP

Agree2 Disagree0

Get your ears tested!

Agree1 Disagree0

No we did not play well. Bereft of ideas and quality. We played better under grayson, it's not redfearns fault,he's just not up to it. Subs were reactive rather than proactive. Wonder who bates will blame this week?

Agree1 Disagree0

This is clearly a post from uncle ken himself, good old ken fishing for bites.

Beaten at home again, booed off, season over, preparation needed for next season with a manager that has a track record for getting teams promoted,Redfearn backers give it a rest and let's have someone in that can actually do the job.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Totally agree, Let's get Warnock in, hate the guy but he's our best shot !

Why all these rumours leeds have made 1 decision the job is neils if we win the next 3

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Well thats impossible. Given his managerial skills I think we will lose all three.

Agree4 Disagree1

Well that's him finished then.

Agree5 Disagree0

So now what have you got to say ??

Agree3 Disagree0

Your one of the idiots I mention in my post.one game against 9. Men and we are great again with redfearn.

Agree3 Disagree1

Oh settle down some of you, he lost his first game in charge, big wow hes not gonna go unbeaten till the end of the season

Agree0 Disagree3

11 Feb 2012 15:11:58
I hope redfearn gets the job,as far as football knowledge goes none of the favourites in the betting have more football knowledge, they might have more managerial experience but redfearn has similar credentials to paul lambert when he became a manager,an.d look what he's done 100% behind neil

Believable0 Unbelievable10

You are deluded and know nothing about football ot Redfearns managerial past.

Agree7 Disagree0

11 Feb 2012 15:00:57
No rodgers not even on bench looks like redfearn doesn't fancy him, will have had all week to watch him in training.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Or hes got a knock, just because hes not in the team doesnt mean that hes unfancied

Agree1 Disagree0

Might just think that nunez is the right person to come off the bench and unlook the game today.

Agree1 Disagree0

Nunez had 1 min 30 seconds on the field, how on earth is that meant to give Nunez a sporting chance ??

Agree3 Disagree0

90 seconds more than he should get

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Nah, 2-1 leeds i reckon

Agree1 Disagree4

It's a tough game today, win, lose or draw Redfearns here till Donny. I will be behind him until he has gone, then I will be behind the next man. Can't see the point in our fans bickering amongst ourselves. Opinionas are fine, but lets at least show respect for each other.

Agree3 Disagree1

We will lose today. Infact we will lose two and draw one with him in charge

Interesting comments from Alex McCleish regarding the loan of Fabian Delph. The fact that he may be ready to bring Delph back to Villa in 2 weeks suggests he may be keeping an eye on the calibre of coaching regime that will be looking after his player. After all, if Delph's here principally to re-gain premiership form (the loan system working to both clubs' advantage) it will matter to his manager that he's in good hands. Just a thought; probably a load of balls.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Think they will be thinking more about their squad than worrying about our coaches, hardly flying at the minute Villa.

Agree1 Disagree0

Very true.

more lies from Bates in todays programme
"Matters came to a head whenSimon came to me and asked for a midfielder costing 1.2million and I refused - as we had 9 on books already" two weeks ago he said it was a defender costing 600k
so SG asked for a midfielder to replace his captain who had just been sold for 2m - whats the problem in that? If the dozy old fool is going to tell lies he needs to check his stories before he does it!!

Believable9 Unbelievable0

How do you know he didn't ask for both? Grayson himself said he was expecting 2-3 signings in the last week. Again, lets focus on the team and forget everything else, the longer we as fans stay divided the worse it'll be for us all.

Agree1 Disagree2

Clayton
Brown
Vayrynen
Delph (Loan)
Thompson (Youth)
Nunez (if you can call him a midfielder)

who are the other 3?

Agree2 Disagree0

2nd poster - what are you on about? Bates clearly changed his story or he'd have said Grayson asked for two players. Given that a judge, Sir Charles Gray, once used the words "riddled with material inaccuracies" to describe Bates's relationship with the truth I think it's pretty obvious he's just trying to bad mouth SG. Anyway, 1.5m over 3 years is 10 grand a week. Rightly or wrongly, that isn't exactly a top footballer's wage now is it? Not much to ask for after selling your captain, Max and Schmeichal and getting compensation from Atletico.

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy, Sam, Rogers, White (better at LM). I make that 10.

Agree1 Disagree0

But they are wingers, not midfielders who can step into Howson's position.

Not at all relevant - saw this quote from bates and found it hilarious

"We have been inundated with applications from the cheeky to the outlandish," he said.
"We've had one from an 11-year-old boy who obviously has high ambitions in the game, and we have a PlayStation manager of 2010, who fancies his chances, having won a competition.

"We've also had Sven Goran Eriksson apply, but he won't be coming.

This is direct from inside the club - source 1 down from Bates. There is no short list and we are not reviewing anyone. Bates wants to give the job to Redfern. Only poor results in the next two will make him change his mind, and only then will we start the search.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Isnt this obvious?

Agree1 Disagree1

Hope Bates has started searching !!
