Not a great day to be honest and hard to explain. A couple of things that were disappointing were the lack of a response from the defeat last Sunday and the lack of a plan B. We started off well knocking the ball around with confidence and the new lad Sag looks as though he will be a decent addition over the coming weeks. But it was a typical Warnock away performance two banks of four, waste time at goal kicks and throw ins, niggle frustrate etc etc. But then we ran out of ideas. If Wood is not involved then our options are very limited and he had a poor game today. Hernandez tried but the gap between our midfield and attack was to big. There was no variation at corners for example ( try a short one ) . The ref was poor but so were we. It is difficult to criticise as we have had an excellent season so far but in all honesty I would rather us miss out this season and smash it next year. Exit for Grimes, Sacko, Cooper, Antonson and Green. Sign up Bartley and get more fire power and central defensive cover.

wasn't sacko our best player yesterday and the only one who got at the opposition and stretched play?

No Berm, Berardi the best of a bad bunch. Sacko pace when he gets free but as with most of his season absolutely no end product. Crosses never beating the first defender or to close to the keeper. Never gets his head up to look at the possibility of someone running on to the ball. Doesn't do enough for me and signing Sag and Barrow suggests that GM feels he is not fulfilling his potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2017 18:26:59
i agree, i like sacko and rate him but clearly monk don't due to people he brought in and of course monk must know. a lot of posts on fb all said sacko was our best player but that is only what they said and i don't know many of them and most post on fb are very moronic so i take them with pinch of salt. I don't rate berardi at all really so must of been a bad day if he was best of a bad bunch

Have to agree that beradi was best for me although roofe tried his hardest to change things and gee us up as did sako.

Well, we are no more likely to get promoted if we finish 3rd or 6th, so offer us 6th now and I'll snatch their hands off

We managed to cope without Jansson for the Derby game, so not sure he's the sole reason we lost today. Too many complacent performances and favourites getting picked. My team for Tuesday: Green Berardi Bartley Ayling Coyle O'Kane Phillips Roofe Hernandez Sacko Wood. If Jansson is fit, Ayling to RB and Coyle bench.

you complain that favourites are getting picked therefore creating complacency but the line up you have just chosen is the favoured lineup?

The transfer was not used well. It was not, as Noel Whelan suggested, that we didn't bring in another striker, it was because we didn't bring in a Centre Back. When I was arriving at the ground and heard that Jannson was not playing I knew our run of clean sheets would come to an end. We rarely, if ever, keep a clean sheet when Cooper plays. He looks ok for the most part but he makes extremely bad mistakes and he unbalances the back four. Given the fact we are playing with too deep lying defensive midfielders our attacking options are very limited particularly as neither of them pushes forward. I said before kick off we will do well to draw and we might just lose. With 70% possession we created few chances with only Wood getting in the box but heavily marked and doing nothing. Sure enough a dead ball situation near the half way line and our two centre halves couldn't organise themselves to defend it. This happening after they had a similar scare earlier. The old days of conceding at set pieces and making absolute howlers have returned with a vengeance - coinciding with the return of the arch culprit, Cooper. We looked as bad as I have seen us - back to the days, pre Jannson and Bartley. It was painful watching it. We are not in for promotion this year although we might scrape top 6 if Jannson and Bartley keep playing but that is it. We desperately needed an experienced Centre Half as back up and we haven't got one. Another striker would have been nice but the centre half situation is an accident waiting to happen. If Cooper plays on Tuesday we will probably concede. At least two goals needed to win - definitely one needed to draw

Wood looked uninterested!

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Feb 2017 20:15:46
Agreed, Cooper is league one at best. His inclusion in the team seems to effect the confidence of the back four and in particular his centre back partner. Very poor with the ball at his feet, either a pass back or a 50 yard smash which finds it's target at best 50% of the time

11 Feb 2017 20:44:22
Don't the stats say we had 14 attempts at goal that's where the problem lies its ok for people to blame individuals but every person has a job to do and obviously monk has faith in the team he picks and I hope we win Tuesday to put some smiles back on faces you really can not win them all

11 Feb 2017 20:54:42
I don't know about the end of the match but the tv showed shots on target stats at halftime - 1.

All teams will hit a few speed ramps during the season. We may have hit a few in last couple of games but would prefer we hit them in February than in April 30 points from our last 15 games is our target I don't care when those points come but we'd have to think that's achievable

It's easy to be classy in the middle of the pitch, passing sideways and backwards, but we seriously lack any consistent threat in the final third going forward caused by poor final ball or decision making. Cannot see us winning a game 3,4 or 5 nil like some of our competitors, especially when I look above (and below) and see the number and quality of strikers some teams have in their squads.

We've come such a long way, but totally agree. Still not got a team that looks capable of scoring as many goals as we are going to need. I think Monky will make those type of signings a condition that he stays next season

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2017 10:56:59
Altho we aren't winning games 3, 4, 5 - nil we still have the best goal difference in the playoff group so your argument doesn't really hold any water . jus saying

WTAF? Not sure what is happening recently but losing is a bad habit to get into and one we seem to be getting used to. Need to bounce back quickly. Not sure if we are worse with Birdcage in the team but since his return we have not done well.

Just back, Wow that was shocking, would be easy to blame ref but no the whole team was terrible after the first half hour. Wood looked like he wanted to be somewhere else Cooper clueless bridcut needs to keep his mouth shut and respond with football not abuse. Wingers that can't defend and our no:10 hernandez. He's a luxury but no good for battles. Tries to do far too much, Dallas grafts but there's no end product from him and even the Bart man looked out of sorts without the pilot next to him. What's up with Mo Barrow? Monkeys bulled him up for a week or so then don't even play him. Everyone needs to take responsibility for this including monk. I stand by what I said 3 weeks ago were having our bad run now.

First half, satisfied but not happy. Stats show (for all the dominance) 1 shot on target. Second half either they decided to start playing or we went to pieces. For all our pretty play (and there wasn't too much of that) we were toothless in front of goal. The final pass just wasn't good enough and Wood just did not create any threat. It seems at times he waits for the play to come to him? Anyway not quite worrying just yet but unless there is a marked improvement Tuesday, and not just a win, then it might be time to start.

Watching the game in Oz, I feel that Woody is doing the same thing, Has scored plenty but tonight he doesn't want to create to much, wanting the ball to come to him. Someone posted the other day that they thought we were in a slump, how right you are son, how could we let Warnock come back to ER and steal all the points. Definitely lack a player who has a decent 30 yard shot on them, no menace from outside the box, I suppose today there was none inside the box either. Very disappointed today MOT

What is going on? Sacko on rather than Barrow and Doukara on for Viera! These decisions are going to cost us so many points Just shows why we needed more activity in the transfer market, Cooper is a liability.

Both udders and Cardiff played the same formation as us and we've struggled twice. It's almost that we can't cope with teams who set up in a similar fashion. Perhaps we are getting a bit predictable and we've been sused out now.

Derby on the march, wendies on the march. We can't keep relying on Pontus! cooper is not good enough! rather than two more wingers, however good they are, to me i me it would have been more sense signing a proper good cb and a midfield general!

Lot's of teams relying on individual players

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2017 17:24:20
Yes, but no as far up the table as us! so whatever illness Pontus has, if he passes it to wood and we're without both of them, then with no bridcutt (suspension) we could be looking very very average on paper again!
