So assuming Cooper isn't fit to at least start the match, if play at all against Derby, what back line would people like to see? Quite a few options. Ayling and Diagouraga can both play at CB in a pinch, if Ayling goes central do you play Berardi at RB with Denton at left or Berardi at LB with Coyle at RB. Dallas can also play LWB so he could be another option at LB or do you go 3 at the back - Ayling, Berardi, Bartley and try have Dallas and someone else play as wing backs? Though I think Berardi plays better at RB I would be inclined to start with Coyle, Ayling, Bartley, Berardi, Coyle just looks a little more comfortable and polished compared to Denton.

I wouldn't risk dallas at LB, although he hasn't good defensive duties it may knock dentons confidence playing a winger over a natural full back. Playing that final back 4 makes sense. Monk wouldn't go 3 at the back though the team works in our current formation, just hope okane and bridcutt are back, interesting one for me is who will he start as the attacking 3? Hernandez, roofe and sacko? Doukara to be dropped for me he's not Ben up to it recently, we'll see

Dallas at LB isn't the strangest decision ever Samo, similar work horse style to Milner and he has slotted in there and been pools best player so far this term. As for Denton he will need to be made of sterner stuff to make it at the top, if something like that shakes him then its not meant to be, also we are pushing this term, much more important than his feelings. As for 3 behind Wood I would have Doukara, Hernandez, Sacko. I like Dallas and I like Roofe, I also realise Doukara had a stinker in the last game but he looks the more dangerous out on the left most weeks and without the Swedish Bulwark it might well come down to a good goal tally (poss another reason to use Dallas at LB, would be fantastic on the overlap) .

Agree that Dallas would be far better round the back of any left wing, playing from LB, but wouldn't you rather have a natural defender there for a better chance of a clean sheet. There's days where I rate doukara and there's days where his heads just not in it, we can't afford that, like you say we're in a promotion push so we need everybody at the races. At the end of the day it's Monks team he knows the best 11 to play each week. What would yours be?

Isn't anyone from the yoof team ready to step up at CB?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2017 18:12:09
Jack Vann I think is ready to step up if we need him

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2017 21:22:29
Vann needs a loan move to play some first team football, wouldn't like to throw a youngster to Vydra and Nugent on his first start.

Coming up to nearly half window gone. Well over a third of it anyhow. Get your act together boss men We ain't good enough to go up yet. And with Newcastle about to self destruct. There's a spot up for grabs. So move on it.

We really need to do a bit of business in the transfer window, all clubs around us are picking up 1 or 2 players! It could be the difference to beine in the play offs or not?

11 Jan 2017 21:36:21
Wouldnt worry too prematurely, teams don't just let players go in the Jan window till they have a replacement in place, not like the summer when you have a couple of months to find someone else, so you tend to be quiet till nearer the end of it. Also any loan players they will want to leave till the last minute so they can be signed until after any potential playoff games (Am assuming we have used all our long term loans and only have short term ones left, unless they changed the rules to compensate for the lack of emergency loan window this season) .

Side point, Monkey magic is due to have a meeting with Mass effect and the Rad man on Thursday to discuss transfers, etc. so we might seee a bit more aggression in the transfer market after that.

Not for me been there done that. He was good at the time but you don't go back to the same place on holiday unless it's exceptional

Gradel would be the difference, give the lad a contract

On paper, a good idea but I question wether he is still the same player and with some of the other teams sniffing around I wonder if we can compete on wages especially if he is on 40k at Bournemouth.

go in for a cheeky loan bit paying 75% of wages with clause to purchase for set price if it works out, nothing to lose if on form he will rip up our league

11 Jan 2017 17:36:23
BW, couldn't agree more, he's a class player, and would still do some damage next year IF we went up and he signed, him, Hernandez and sacko in the 3, couldn't imagine it this time last year

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Jan 2017 21:37:47
Def worth getting in on a loan to buy, think 75% wage might be a bit rich though BW, hopefully they would go for 50%.

Before anyone says anything I am so glad this is the case but where's the Premier League interest in Pontus Jansson? like I say so happy no one has tried to hijack his deal with us but the man is on fire we need to snap him after he plays his next match. M. O. T

10 bookings in 20 odd games may have something to do with it
Good. Passion. Corrects his own mistakes. But prem league class? How many other defenders picked up that many bookings in prem?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2017 21:41:13
Aussie, are you going to start to pick holes in Pontus now that your previous target has come up smelling of roses? It will end in tears if you start on Pontus, mark my words

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jan 2017 01:53:00
More than a few CB's and DM's have had bans in the prem already Aus, shorter season though so you rarely see 2 or 3 game ones, less games to the half way point (20 games takes you well past so fewer 2 match bans) . That said Prem teams have supposedly had scouts out watching him, most put off for now by the fact we get him after 22 games (which is why I think its an agreed deal in the previous post Speedy) . don't be surprised to see offers from the prem in the summer if we get him and don't go up.

12 Jan 2017 03:04:59
Just saying it how it is. He is great for us. But other clubs may see him as a liability.

Thanks gummie. Again
Fountain of knowledge How long contract we signing him on. You know?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2017 21:31:44
Think i'm more a sink hole of useless information than font of knowledge to be fair Aus. As for his contract I haven't seen much anywhere about it but I would expect either a 2 yr with an option to extend or a 3 year. Just coming up to his peak and looks prem class so we will want to keep hold, his agent may push for lower though to get him a big money move in the future if things don't work out for us. Only insight I could offer on his contract is that when he came in a lot of sources said he would be signing as our highest paid player (not sure if Hernandez deal has changed that) , so he might well swallow up a good chunk of wage budget on top of what we are already paying for him unless he takes a pay cut.
